You wanted to have him: a) Talk to the 31 other teams in the NFL to gauge their interest. b) Out of the teams that wanted him, find the best few offers. c) Out of those offers, decide which team was the best fit for him. d) Figure out how to work out a fair contract given the unique nature of his previous contract. Houshmandzadeh at this time. So by 4:35pm they signed him? Ridiculous. Childress is just along for the ride. When the Favre era ends, he'll coach one more year and be gone. If he's lucky he'll coach that one extra year.
