Does Marshawn want out?

Recommended Posts

This is slightly more indicative of wanting out than not showing up to voluntary workouts. Although it's still hearsay. Not that he has much choice in the matter. The Bills won't release him and they probably can't trade him for anything substantial, and he has at least 2 years left on his contract (the 3rd is voidable). He's simply got few choices.

The only people living in a fantasy land are those who ignore the evidence (or lack thereof) and say "you really think he didn't know he hit a 200pd woman." Because that's all they have to hang their hat on.

He refused to answer the door when police came to his home shortly after the incident because he was guilty and probably driving over the legal limit after a night of boozing. It's fairly obvious. Is it possible he was so drunk he didn't realize he hit the woman? Maybe. But it doesn't really matter. You can defend him all you want, but it's not just one incident with Marshawn Lynch. I'm not saying he is a criminal sociopath any means, he is just an extremely stupid and immature individual whose actions put him in criminal situations and he will likely end up doing time for "victimless" crimes in the near future just because he's too stupid to make good decisions most of the time.

As for whether they should trade him.....not if he is trying to force a trade. We have seen enough of that. The late round pick they could get for Lynch doesn't justify the undermining of new management's authority. If he wants to sit out, let him sit out. Fine him and put him down on the depth chart. And screw CJ Spiller. RB's are a dime-a-dozen and teams like the Bills that can't consistently stock their lines/QB positons have no business drafting RB's early. You would hope the Bills know this after drafting Travis Henry/Willis McGahee/Lynch with premium picks in the past 9 years and not making the playoffs even once.

I agree with the immature and/or stupid angle. The allegations about being drunk or smoking weed however would carry weight if someone had seen Lynch drinking (like they had several times in the past) and/or if the cops had bothered to charge him with the weed they said he and/or his homies were smoking, and which was serious enough to warrant a search of his car (but oddly enough not serious enough to warrant a charge). Their absence makes me think that something is amiss. Nevermind that he has no known history of alcohol or drug abuse, hasn't failed any drug tests that we know of, and hasn't been tagged for DUI or even public intoxication. But hey, that's just me.

Exactly. Unless he gets into trouble again, he stays.
