Bills unusual pitch to season ticket holders....

So What! I don't see the big issue with a picture one way or the other. If I needed to make an issue of renewing season tickets it would be the rate hike with our worst season in 9 years. We fired a coach mid-season and now we are being asked to pay for Jauron's 6 million. :nana:

Story just got picked up by ProFootballTalk.com too....... finally the rest of the nation will find out what we already knew.... incompetence lives at 1 Bills Drive

Yeah..That showed by them keeping Tom Modrak...What has he really done over the last decade to improve the team??

How do they let players like Antwoine Winfield, Jabari Greer, Pat Williams, and Nate Clements slip through their grasp in FA?? How do they draft the 4th rated DE in the draft that isn't big enough to be a DE in the NFL in Aaron Maybe Maybin???

When they had Bryan Orakapo, the highest rated DE fall in their laps and they pass???? Why does most of our coaching staff have little if any NFL experience??? Even Chan Gailey has more College experience than NFL. His record isn't phenomonal or anything close! Why should we believe in the resurection of the Bills even if they draft well we rarely

re-sign our most coveted FA's??? Why do the Pittsburgh's, San Diego's, New England's, Indianapolis's keep winning year after year generally speaking and we remain at or near the basement of the leaugue and statistically in most categories year after year??? Well just like you said the incompetence lives at 1 Bills Drive and will remain as long as Ralph Wilson

chooses inferior GM's and Coaches!!!

As pointed out in the other thread, is that a pretty easy Photoshop exercise could have extracted the scoreboard from the background, and then they could have used it in a creative way.

And everyone would have complained that they photo shopped the scoreboard creating a fake picture to trick fans into buying season tickets from a phony picture. This is so boring.

Was this ever explained? Why was Jauron not in the photo? If he was erased, then why? Other players who were released are still there.

Releasing a player isn't quite the same order of magnitude as firing a head coach ... unless you're really mad at them, anyway. A few years back, after whacking Bobby Shaw with some malice, they 'Shopped Santa Claus into his place in the photo on the Christmas cards.

I'd have to look up Tim's story to be sure, but I think he did give the team an opportunity to comment on it. Ah, here it is. (Hint: search "Trotsky" on his blog, and this post comes right up):

http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/...-team-photoshop

Indeed he did: "The Bills declined to comment on the photo.

"If only Bills fans could wipe Jauron from their brains as easily as he was removed from the picture."

While that's a possibility, it's more about anticipating how the organization is perceived by its customers (the fans), the media and the league itself. Maybe that means "yeah, they'd misunderstand it anyways and bash us for photoshopping the pic, but that's better than the scoreboard/punt pic" or "even though it's a great shot of the scoreboard, people might get all emotional about punting from our endzone or how terrible that Browns game was, so let's use a pic that's not as good but displays the team when they were making a great play." Or my personal favorite..."this is a great idea (to use the scoreboard in a way that personalizes the message to season ticket holders), but the potential bad messages make it too risky and let's think about a better way."

You might not think it's important or worth fretting over, but here is a team that's under attack on a regular basis, and needs to be very, very careful about its image.
