  1. right, that would be a brilliant bet on my part eh ( which It actually would)

Unfortunately its impossible now, but had Young made the team I would have done one better ,

I would have bet you that VY would be starting for the Buffalo Bills before the season was over..

If it would actually be a brilliant bet, why don't you make it? It's not impossible.

This dynamic QB is available, out on the market, there for the taking! All because the Bills coaches are idiots that can't figure out how to use his talents. Surely one of the better run franchise's will give Young a chance. The Pats backup is nothing special, the Giants have David Carr (what's he ever done?). The Browns need a starter....so many teams have the chance to pick up Young, and YOU believe in him (at least enough to criticize his release). Take the bet!

  2. Really. Were you watching the game Sunday? I also watched on the ticket the chiefs. You must know something I don't or they are going to change themselves completely as they sucked in all four phases of the game, offense, defense, special teams, and coaching!

They will play much better, but the pre-season playoff dreams seem delusional. Another middle of the pack, 7-9 type season.

  3. You missed the point. I think VY thought it wasnt worth learning in the first place. he plays the game on the field, and knows athletes play athletes, systems dont play systems. Like Richard Seymour said "I never saw a system make a tackle." Pats are a good case in point: Bellichek has changed both his offense and defensive schemes over the years in accordance with the talent he had.

Well, why is it that Vince Young doesn't have a job?

  4. The Bills could have Calvin Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald, and the passing game would still suck. It's the QB. A top flight QB can work with mediocre receivers, but a bad QB just sucks. Deion Branch would s*** the bed with Fitz as his QB. Donald Jones would be a top 15 WR with Tom Brady, or Peyton Manning throwing him the rock.

Wringing your hands over a replacement for Nelson is just ignoring the elephant in the room.

I expect Fitz will have some big games this year (geez, I hope he can at least be inconsistent!), but I finally accept that he can't lead them to the promised land.

  5. That's the problem Chan and Buddy not getting any other wideouts, we were forced to put our hope into SJ and Nelson with Jones to help them out. Incredible poor management by the GM

Maybe, but who? They tried Meachem. Who was available that wasn't just another mediocre guy? The team had serious holes to fill, and they tried to upgrade as many as they could. I like the off-season moves by ChaNix, it's the other aspects that seem to be failing. The coaching, game preparation, etc.

  6. When JAGs that you cut are better than the guys you kept, an introspection is in order. Nobody is crying over the Danny Batten cut.

I liked Hagan, but I don't know that he is any better than Donald Jones would be with the Raiders (as opposed to the Bills). If a guy goes on to a really productive career, I suppose it's worth a B word or two, but after one game? he hasn't even played that well. It's just petty lashing out.

They may not be crying over Danny Batten, but just about any other guy that has ever been cut/replaced they are. The Bills had a collection of mediocre WR's and chose between them.

  7. I can't get that worked up about losing Nelson. To call his loss "devastating", or a "crippling blow" seems a bit over dramatic, considering how nondescript the WR corps (aside from SJ) is. I guess Nelson is a tad better than Donald Jones, but if the team was placing that much hope for a potent offense in Donald Nelson, the offense was already in trouble. Looks to me like the passing game was gonna suck, with or without Nelson.

  8. Gilmore was a rookie, playing in his 1st game.

I think it was a weird combination of many players believing the hype, and a few newer starters trying to act like they believe the hype, but actually being overwhelmed and tight. They will get better, but I'm not sure it will be good enough, quickly enough.

Oh, and McKelvin is strictly a punt returner...

  9. Thanks for the link. At first, I figured Seattle must have had some good reason for cutting him - perhaps he was slowed by some nagging injury. But the author of this article seems perplexed by the move and thinks Winslow still has gas in the tank. Make me want Nix to have a looksee.

I believe he has something left too. Problem is, he is a jerk. Enough of a jerk that it is a big problem (imagine how bad he must be, that in a league filled with problem children, his behavior has hindered his career this much), . Many posters here have figured that out, and apparently a few teams have as well, but you seem to be blind to it.

  10. Averaged close to 800 yards a season from the TE position over the last 3 seasons and only 2 TE's in the NFL caught more passes over the last 5 seasons then Winslow, so its not like hes a slouch.

Myself personally, If Winslow would take a pay cut which is why he was released in the 1st place (wouldn't take a cut) I wouldn't mind seeing him in Buffalo.
