Spot-on!
If it's too complicated for a Harvard grad who scored 48/50 on his wonderlic, -It useless. We need to scrap Gailey, scrap his QB, and scrap his garbage offense.
So you think it's the coaches fault that Vince Young was useless. Again, if he is worthy, why hasn't another team picked him up?
Are you interested in my wager?
-
Hmmm...I guess that's the end of this Vince Young thread.
-
I thought it said TJ Graham! Sorry! I agree about jackson! Sorry again!
haha, it's okay!
-
two pro bowl appearances, last one in 2010,
yup... long ago...
Okay, I'm ready once again to make a wager. Fig, you seem to have a deep understanding of pro football, would you like to wager that Vince Young won't start and win a game, for any NFL team this season?
-
How is any player NOT ready??? That equals bad coaching IMHO!
He has been in town 2 weeks! What a lame complaint.
There is plenty to complain about, but not getting a new backup QB up to speed in the week and a half before the start of the season is just a ridiculous complaint.

Tarvaris Jackson is better than VY. I imagine he is very excited about the way Fitz is playing right now.
-
Really. Were you watching the game Sunday? I also watched on the ticket the chiefs. You must know something I don't or they are going to change themselves completely as they sucked in all four phases of the game, offense, defense, special teams, and coaching!
They will play much better, but the pre-season playoff dreams seem delusional. Another middle of the pack, 7-9 type season.

Why does Chan have one?
That's not what we are discussing. Every other team has passed on the guy. If we are gonna question anything about Vince Young it should be "why was he signed in the first place?".
-
You missed the point. I think VY thought it wasnt worth learning in the first place. he plays the game on the field, and knows athletes play athletes, systems dont play systems. Like Richard Seymour said "I never saw a system make a tackle." Pats are a good case in point: Bellichek has changed both his offense and defensive schemes over the years in accordance with the talent he had.
Well, why is it that Vince Young doesn't have a job?
-
Vince Young is an unemployed superstar!
And Brian Brohm never really got a chance!
I wonder if the Bills can trade Fitz to the Giants for David Carr?

The Bills could have Calvin Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald, and the passing game would still suck. It's the QB. A top flight QB can work with mediocre receivers, but a bad QB just sucks. Deion Branch would s*** the bed with Fitz as his QB. Donald Jones would be a top 15 WR with Tom Brady, or Peyton Manning throwing him the rock.
Wringing your hands over a replacement for Nelson is just ignoring the elephant in the room.
I expect Fitz will have some big games this year (geez, I hope he can at least be inconsistent!), but I finally accept that he can't lead them to the promised land.
-
That's the problem Chan and Buddy not getting any other wideouts, we were forced to put our hope into SJ and Nelson with Jones to help them out. Incredible poor management by the GM
Maybe, but who? They tried Meachem. Who was available that wasn't just another mediocre guy? The team had serious holes to fill, and they tried to upgrade as many as they could. I like the off-season moves by ChaNix, it's the other aspects that seem to be failing. The coaching, game preparation, etc.
-
Even if he has legitimate complaints, don't go to the media after your debut, in a blowout, as the highest paid defensive player, and use it as an excuse. That's not good leadership.
-
He is on the NFL's "Honorary Injured Reserve List". It's quite an honor, and was developed to bring attention to players that, even though unsigned, will always have a place in the league.
-
When JAGs that you cut are better than the guys you kept, an introspection is in order. Nobody is crying over the Danny Batten cut.
I liked Hagan, but I don't know that he is any better than Donald Jones would be with the Raiders (as opposed to the Bills). If a guy goes on to a really productive career, I suppose it's worth a B word or two, but after one game? he hasn't even played that well. It's just petty lashing out.
They may not be crying over Danny Batten, but just about any other guy that has ever been cut/replaced they are. The Bills had a collection of mediocre WR's and chose between them.
-
Get over it. Knee jerk reactions to any player the Bills have cut. They are average guys, they will have some success, some failings.
-
I can't get that worked up about losing Nelson. To call his loss "devastating", or a "crippling blow" seems a bit over dramatic, considering how nondescript the WR corps (aside from SJ) is. I guess Nelson is a tad better than Donald Jones, but if the team was placing that much hope for a potent offense in Donald Nelson, the offense was already in trouble. Looks to me like the passing game was gonna suck, with or without Nelson.

"It's not me...it's Him!"

Gilmore was a rookie, playing in his 1st game.
I think it was a weird combination of many players believing the hype, and a few newer starters trying to act like they believe the hype, but actually being overwhelmed and tight. They will get better, but I'm not sure it will be good enough, quickly enough.
Oh, and McKelvin is strictly a punt returner...
-
It was one game. They are gonna win some games this year. Probably middle of the pack all over again...

Thanks for the link. At first, I figured Seattle must have had some good reason for cutting him - perhaps he was slowed by some nagging injury. But the author of this article seems perplexed by the move and thinks Winslow still has gas in the tank. Make me want Nix to have a looksee.
I believe he has something left too. Problem is, he is a jerk. Enough of a jerk that it is a big problem (imagine how bad he must be, that in a league filled with problem children, his behavior has hindered his career this much), . Many posters here have figured that out, and apparently a few teams have as well, but you seem to be blind to it.

Averaged close to 800 yards a season from the TE position over the last 3 seasons and only 2 TE's in the NFL caught more passes over the last 5 seasons then Winslow, so its not like hes a slouch.
Myself personally, If Winslow would take a pay cut which is why he was released in the 1st place (wouldn't take a cut) I wouldn't mind seeing him in Buffalo.

Did Chan pull the plug too early On Vince Young?

If it would actually be a brilliant bet, why don't you make it? It's not impossible.
This dynamic QB is available, out on the market, there for the taking! All because the Bills coaches are idiots that can't figure out how to use his talents. Surely one of the better run franchise's will give Young a chance. The Pats backup is nothing special, the Giants have David Carr (what's he ever done?). The Browns need a starter....so many teams have the chance to pick up Young, and YOU believe in him (at least enough to criticize his release). Take the bet!
