I go crazy
When I look in your eyes I still go crazy
No my heart just can't hide that old feelin' inside
Way deep down inside
Oh baby, you know when I look in your eyes I go crazy
No more speed, I'm almost there
Gotta keep cool, now gotta take care
Last car to pass, here I go
And the line of cars go down real slow, woah
And the radio played that forgotten song
Brenda Lee's "Coming On Strong"
And the newsman sang his same song
Oh, one more radar lover gone
All the world over, so easy to see
People everywhere just wanna be free
Listen, please listen, that's the way it should be
There's peace in the valley, people got to be free
But there ain't no doubt girl, down here
We ain't gonna take what they're handing out
When I'm out in the street, oh oh oh oh oh
I walk the way I want to walk
When I'm out in the street, oh oh oh oh oh
I talk the way I want to talk
Baby, out in the street I don't feel sad or blue
Baby, out in the street I'll be waiting for you
Thinkin' of you's workin' up my appetite
Looking forward to a little afternoon delight
Rubbin' sticks and stones together makes the sparks ingite
And the thought of lovin' you is getting so exciting
Sky rockets in flight
Afternoon delight
Afternoon delight
This is for all the lonely people
Thinkin' that life has passed them by
Don't give up until you drink from the silver cup
And ride that highway in the sky
And if she should tell you: "Come closer"
And if she tempts you with her charms
Tell her no, no, no, no, no-no-no-no
No, no, no, no, no-no-no-no
No, no, no, no, no
Don't hurt me now for her love belongs to me
Personally it was the 60’s when I was a carefree kid who was happy playing with my friends, riding my bike, and playing with my Hot Wheels and GI Joes. But I also remember seeing the Vietnam War and racial inequality on tv like it was a normal thing, so not for the country.
For the country I’d say the 90’s when there was relative peace and prosperity, and the Congress and Supreme Court had a majority of moderates willing to work together and compromise.
Time goes slowly, but carries on
And now the best years
The best years have come and gone
You took me by surprise
I didn't realize that you were laughing
In the year 7510
If God's a coming, He oughta make it by then
Maybe He'll look around Himself and say
Guess it's time for the judgment day
In the year 8510
God is gonna shake His mighty head
He'll either say I'm pleased where man has been
Or tear it down, and start again
Back in the ‘60s living in Buffalo it was a hot day. I was 8 and my friend was a couple years older. There were no pools nearby so my mom said use the hose to cool off. We thought that sucked, and my friend knew of a pool a few miles away at Shoshone Park. So I got on my 3 speed Schwinn and him on his new English Racer and rode there. Of course we didn’t tell our parents. Just leaned our bikes on a fence without locks. After a day at the pool we left to find my friend’s bike was stolen. Shortly after my parents came driving up after they figured out where we went. It was the only time in my life that I got spanked and sent to my room. 😩
Who wants to buy this diamond ring?
She took it off her finger, now it doesn't mean a thing
This diamond ring doesn't shine for me anymore
And this diamond ring doesn't mean what it meant before
So if you've got someone whose love is true
Let it shine for you
I put a spell on you
Because you're mine
You better stop the things you do
I tell you, I ain't lying
I ain't lying
You know I can't stand it
You're running around
You know better daddy
I can't stand it 'cause you put me down
I'll say goodbye to love
No one ever cared if I should live or die
Time and time again the chance for love has passed me by
And all I know of love
Is how to live without it
I just can't seem to find it
Come fly with me, let's fly, let's fly away
If you can use some exotic booze
There's a bar in far Bombay
Come on, fly with me, we'll float down in the blue
The morning fog may chill the air, I don't care
My love waits there in San Francisco
Above the blue and windy sea
When I come home to you, San Francisco
Your golden sun will shine for me
Girl, we've been meant for this
Since we were born
No problems now (the coast is clear)
It's just the calm before the storm
This must be just like livin' in paradise
And I don't want to go home
My family went over to our neighbor’s house late at night because they had a color tv to watch Armstrong take the first step. I was 8 years old and fell asleep. When I woke up it was over. I asked my mom why she didn’t wake me and she said I needed my sleep. 😩
Listen people to what I say
I say everybody's got to have their day
And don't you know that
Everybody's got to love somebody some time
Everybody's got to win a heart
Everybody's got to love somebody some time
When you do, I hope you never part
So I gotta get you out my head now
I just cut you off
You out my head now
I just cut you off
When I'm without you
I don't overthink it, I just carry on
Get you out my head now
I just cut you off
I went to a garden party
To reminisce with my old friends
A chance to share old memories
Play our songs again
When I got to the garden party
They all knew my name
No one recognized me
I didn't look the same
It's been such a long time
I think I should be goin', yeah
And time doesn't wait for me
It keeps on rollin'
Sail on, on a distant highway, yeah
I've got to keep on chasin' a dream
I've gotta be on my way
Wish there was something I could say
Qanon beliefs are a hoax, but a good portion of right wingers subscribe to it and identify with it.
