  1. I never says that he released any information, just that he had text messages about the situation. Most likely this info was found by a reporter. Many thought that the Browns were doing him a service by not mentioning his ailment, but the case was just the opposite. They told him to be quiet or he would be dealt with. Yes, he should have gone through different channels, but the Browns were flat out wrong. This is the fourth staph infection in 3 years over there, so it has to be frustrating for him, especially if when asked about it, he was told to keep his mouth shut when it wasn't his fault at all
  2. per rotoworld Kellen Winslow had copies of text messages from Browns staffers that told him not to talk publicly about his staph infections or GM Phil Savage would get involved. As profootballtalk's Mike Florio puts it, "Winslow was right, the Browns were wrong, and at least the team was smart enough to back down before everything blew up at the arbitration hearing on Tuesday." The Browns come out looking stupid here, but they will still sit Winslow on Sunday.
  3. Dolphins NT Jason Ferguson (ribs) returned to practice Friday. It appears he'll play against Buffalo now, which is bad news for Marshawn Lynch's matchup. Ferguson is the centerpiece of Miami's potent run defense. Source: Palm Beach Post
  4. I'm not doctor (but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night), but Schobel said he is real sore along the top of his foot. It sounds as if it could be a lisfranc sprain, which can be pretty serious if not taken care of well. Chien Ming Wang had a lisfranc fracture and missed the whole season, but I remember there was another player who had a sprain and returned in about a month. If that's the case, I think he might be back next week at the earliest.
  5. does anyone know a site where I can see all the free agents still out there, rookies and veterans?
  6. I liked this post from a Pats fan in that thread: we lost our starting QB and the league's best player, our starting RB (over rated as he was, yet still the starter) and our starting strong safety for good. why are you bothering with bills? i'd be happy to swap our injury list by position for theirs any day
  7. I agree with you. Most likely had to do with the 8 beers I had before posting. And that's a warning to all....don't drink and post
  8. Jesus christ, here we go with the correcting of grammar again. The fact that people even bother to post stupid posts like this boggles my mind. I'm sorry sir, it was a STAPH infection
  9. He was getting fired up to play a conference rival, and he ended up apologizing for it (which was stupid I thought. The media created the issue). Many football players consider themselves "warriors" and "soldiers", who cares if he said he was a "soldier". So altogether he made one soldier comment in college, made a dumb mistake on a motorcycle, and got mad that his team can't clean up the locker room and he's a cancer?
  10. He made a mistake by driving his motorcycle around like an idiot, but other than this recent outburst when has he been a cancer? It's obvious Cleveland can't keep clean and safe environment as indicated by 4 staff infections to players over the last 3 years. I'm sure that's why he's pissed. Plus, the GM never contacted him to see how he was. He shouldn't have voiced his opinion to the media and kept it in house, but other than this when has he been a punk?
  11. Apparently Winslow has rubbed the Browns the wrong way and there are rumors that he will be dealt this offseason. We offered a 3rd and change for TG, I certainly would be willing to do the same for Winslow. He's much younger and is a very good TE. No one in the draft has close to the talent that he does. Anyone agree?
  12. people on the board last year complained about how he couldn't handle adverse weather. Do people fel differently now?
  13. per rotoworld In an internal memo, ESPN instructed its reporters not to mention FoxSports.com's report that Brett Favre had a lengthy dicussion with Lions coaches before the Lions-Packers game in Week 2. The memo says that ESPN believes the story to be untrue, so they shouldn't report it. Of course, they often report other things Glazer writes and could choose to dispute the news if they choose. The reality is that it's a biug story, but they don't want to upset Favre. The fact that Rod Marinelli is not denying the story says it all. Glazer also stands by the story 100%. Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Tuesday he doesn't want to talk about it and hopes the story goes away.
  14. agreed, but will we ever hear from him again is really the question I have
  15. I have to say I miss hearing Marshawn speak to the media. He's a happy-go-lucky kinda guy and always seemed upbeat in his interviews, which were enjoyable to listen to. I understand he is angry at the media, but he did something wrong and it's only their job to find out what happened. What happens if we make the playoffs? Is it just local media, national, etc.? I wish he would just bury the hatchet. I love watching him on play on Sunday's, but there is a disjoint from a fans perspective between himself and the Bills faithful
  16. maybe corto
  17. His decision was very stupid, and who knows about what shape he'd be in. But we need to have depth and he would have provided it.
  18. It was a 4-6 week injury with the chance at it being 8. We're going into week 8, so he should have been back by now, if not coming back this week
  19. With pizza man looking like he might be out for quite some time, it makes the decision to IR Crowell look even worse. I understand the Bills were mad, but he would have been back around now, and our depth at LB would have been much better.
  20. What worries me about this game is out defense. McGee is out, Youboty is a gametime decision, as is Schobel. I don't like our chances if our corners are McKelvin, Greer, and Corner. Also, while Schobel hasn't been playing well, I'd much rather him in there than Denney. I'm hoping Ashton and Aaron play Sunday and I think they will be missed greatly if they can't play
  21. No real news here. Let him heal up and get ready for next week. He shouldn't be rushed back
  22. This just upsets me to no end. The FO was really trying to get this done. I think that move would have made us serious front-runners. With the uncapped year coming in the near future it will be VERY tough to land top free agents. We needed this BAD. That being said, the Chiefs GM was asking for a second, so maybe a deal wouldn't have gotten done afterall. Either way, I'm really pissed about it and can't seem to get over it. Lee Evans would have been freed from double teams. The offense would have had TG, Evans, Lynch, Roscoe, Reed, Hardy, and Edwards. Unbelievable. I hope we kick the living crap out them when we play them, and I hope his non-acquisition makes no difference (unfortunately, I think it would have been a HUGE deal). Sigh.......I need to get over this, and soon
  23. We are jumping the gun on this a bit. We don't know why he isn't practicing. he might be fine to play on Sunday
  24. I'd say Preston might be an upgrade to be honest
