  1. Lynch is as good as Steven Jackson in my mind. One of the problem that caused the lack of success with running the ball is the center, Fowler. In the last game against the Chargers with Preston playing center, I noticed that the OL was able to generate more push. In the past on similar plays, they would get pushed back. I also noticed that they were running some pitch out and sweep, which put Marshall in space. With more running room, he was able to generate more long runs. I understand it may appear that Jackson was getting longer runs. But a running play on third down vs. 1st and 2nd down are quite different. On third and long, the defense may not expect the run as much and the safeties may play a little deeper. So unless I see Jackson plays the first two downs and gain long run consistently, I don't think is fair to make that comparison. I hope that the Bills will keep Preston at center, and be more creative with the running game. They will need a good ground game when the weather gets cold.
  2. Did anyone do the math? If Peters sit out the whole year, how much money will he be paid? If I was the Bills, I let him sit out the whole year. Then I will find a sucker to trade up for a 1st rounder pick in 2009 draft. If no such sucker can be found, I will let him sit out for the second year. This may not make sense money wise, but is a good way to build a reputation. Very soon, other teams will copy them and we will finally be able take these greed sport agents under control.
  3. Oh, thanks for the post also. Because after reading this article, I thought they made a mistake with the pick. Inrich.com article on Chris Ellis
  4. These numbers are as good as any high round picks corners. Many teams are picking multiple corners. Since he is a 7th round pick, who cares?
  5. There won't be enough carries for all of those running backs. Drafting Dwight was Wilson's idea. I hope they learn not to listen to him on draft day.
  6. All the top receivers in the draft have problems. The domestic charge against Hardy was from two years ago. Since then he had cleaned up his act. His coach and teammates can testify to that. A month before the draft, I read it from the Indiana message board that said the same thing about him. I think he is a fine young man that is glad to get a second chance. With his skill and size, I think we got ourselves one heck of a receiver. He will need to prove that he can product in NFL like he did in college. But you know he is healthy, ran a good 40s, and did not blame the turf for his performance.
  7. I don't know what to think about this pick. I thought we were going to select a TE in the third round but instead we selected Ellis. By the time we pick Derek Fine, all the big name TE were already gone. So I guess they selected whoever was the highest on their board. If they would have selected a TE, they probably would not be able to get a decent DE. So if you want that pass catching TE that can stretch the field, there is another draft coming in 363 days.
  8. Ha ha. I am sooo glad I don't have NFL Network. If I have to pay to watch this crap I will have a heart attack!!
  9. I also think that Kelly at #11 is a reach because 1) he is injuried 2) his college production was not that great last year. All the evaluation was base on the assumption that he can regain his form three years ago. He is a big receiver and is better than some other tall receivers available. However, I agreed with some that we can trade down from #11 and get some more picks in the first round. We can probably still select James Hardy or Lima Sweed after trading down, even towards the end of the 1st round. Then we can select a CB with the extra pick. I wonder if Dallas will give us their two 1st round picks for #11. Other option is to draft an OL. I think we are one or two players from having a great OL. We also should target center in the third round. Speaking of receivers, what are the opinions of James Hardy. I know that he has bagage but I was also told that he was trying to change his life and no longer a trouble maker. However, I read that some scout called him the laziest player in the world. The games that I have seen him played, he was a monster in the red zone, almost unstoppable. If he cannot run good routes, can it be coached?
