  1. I decided to start watching to top Qb prospects for next years draft.

I am watching the Ole Miss/Memphis game and have this conclusion - Jevan Snead sucks. He cannot throw on the run. He has no touch and has thrown 2 picks in the first half because he gets pressured and just throws the ball up for grabs.

    NO THANKS.

He sure stunk it up in what I saw of that game...(most of the first half)

Even the announcers made a comment that this was how he looked in the first half of last season, and that his rocketing up the draft boards was due to the last 5 games of last season only.

  2. Either way, since jauron has a defensive background, how did he not know when he is looking at an offense that sucks and cant execute? From a defensive standpoint he studied offenses his whole life and as a player played defense in the NFL! How do you not figure this out until now one week before the start of the season when you're there at practice everyday? He must be clueless. The incompetency is mindboggling.

In Turk's little rant, he also said that Jauron was on his back all off-season...sounds like DJ was aware of the offense's suckitude......not a DJ supporter or anything, but Turk's comments just sound like "sour grapes" to me.

  3. Yes, you are correct. I can't blame someone for buying a ticket I guess, but the more sellout games the Bills have, the further away the winning football train gets from the station.

There's just really is nothing much else to do in Buffalo on a Sunday afternoon. This team wouldn't last one week in a large market.

Just speculation.....but could it be that high season ticket sales reflect a sub-conscious fear among Buffalonians that the city could lose the franchise if they don't turn out in droves reguardless of the quality of the product?

  4. i know everyone wants to rant about the offense.. but the defense is just as bad.. the bills have an average defense at best.. except we cant get off the field on 3rd downs. they couldn't stop a 3rd and 10 for their life. they generate no pass rush what so ever.. this seems to be the same defense once again. small, fast and intelligent players... this combo dick uses does not work.. i suggest switching to a 3-4.

move kyle williams to DE along with schobelleave stroud at nose tackle

OLBs are maybin and ellison(there should be a better alternative here but we did not upgrade)

    ILBs are Poz and Mitchell

    Ss are Scott and Whitner

    CBs mcgee, mckelvin, corner

atleast we would add some size and have maybin on the field all the time. unless you want to pay $1 mill. or more for a sack this season.

That defensive idea just might work......we would have 12 players on the field and if the ref's don't notice, it would be one heck of an advantage!!

  5. a. he is a deep threat

    b. we aren't throwing deep

So you are saying that he is a one-dimensional receiver?

You are proving my point that Lee isn't a true #1 receiver...a true #1 can do it all

Like I said in the original post, I like Lee, I'm just stating the obvious fact that he hasn't shown the ability to handle the #1 receiver role, and if T.O. leaves after this year, the Bills will have to address the situation.

(I guess I had to respond after all!)

  6. I agree with Special K. I am not saying that Lee Evans sucks, but I don't feel that he is a truly legitimate number one receiver either. Trent hasn't exactly been getting him the ball, but I'm sorry, number one receivers find ways to get open. There were TOO many instances last year when Evans simply disappeared from the offense. You can point the the poor QB play, and even point to lack of creative playcalling to get Lee more involved, but man, as the number one guy on the team, you've got to be good for at least two or three catches a game right?

This may not be a good comparison to some of you, but Steve Smith to me is what a true number one receiver is. There's no other receiver on that Carolina squad that strikes fear into any other teams corners or def coordinators, yet he absolutely dominates, week in, week out. The guy is what, 5'9 or 5'10? And I'm quite certain that defenses double him or roll a safety to his side every time he's on the field.

I think Lee Evans is a gentleman, a consummate professional, and a great teammate. But a number one receiver. I just have to respectuflly disagree.

Thanks for posting this......I was going to respond to the complaints in the thread, but I read your post and I couldn't have said it better ;)

  7. I hate to bash on Lee Evans because he is a good teammate and a good receiver, but it has become painfully obvious that he is not a number 1 receiver. My new nickname for him is "the Magician", because he has been doing a great disappearing act every gameday since the second half of last season. I'm not going to bash his contract either, because I understand you have to overpay sometimes to keep from creating a big hole on your team.

Luckily for the Bills, he will be a number 2 receiver this season, and hopefully he can be Peerless Price to T.O.'s Eric Moulds circa 10 years ago, and put up some good numbers in a position in which he surely will be much more comfortable.(Obviously, I'm assuming T.O.'s return will keep the offense from being as horrid as it has been the last 2 weeks.)

Unfortunately, the Bills will be in a tough spot if Owens leaves after this year, because top-line receiver help will have to be a high priority next offseason....and number 1 receivers are not easy to come by--just ask Lee Evans.

  8. I have the game on my Tivo but I'm too busy to watch it right now. I was hoping someone would offer some comments on how Jason Peters performed last night. (I know the focus was all on Vick.) Did Peters play or was he held out again?

    PTR

I watched the game with Jaguars announcers down here in Fla., which included former left tackle Tony Boselli.

Boselli basically called out Peters when asked if the trade plus the contract extension was worth it for the Eagles.

He said they did it based on his performance from 2-3 years ago and they are gambling that he will return to that form this year.

He stated that not only was he out of shape last year because of contract proiblems, but that Peters' technique had markedly declined as well, and its a huge risk that the Eagles have taken.

  9. As much as we whine about Ralph, could you imagine fi he had the ego to make himself the GM? Jones has all the resources in the world, yet the Boys have won as many playoff games as we have this decade. He is just an older, more plastic looking version of Daniel Synder.

I dislike Jones and the Cowboys as much as anyone, but there is a big difference between not winning a playoff game in a decade and not making the playoffs at all in a decade....just sayin'

  10. Thats them! They really need their own show. LOL'd lots of times to them.

They actually had a show on ESPN Classic called "Cheap Seats"......not sure if they still show the reruns or not, but it was a pretty funny show.

  11. Damn, that one round was better than most regular boxing matches I've ever seen. My only question is why in the hell did Carano get up off of Cyborg when she was sitting on her pounding her in the head. Dumb decision, and it looks to me that it cost her the fight.

I didn't understand why Gina let "her" up there either. I recall the announcers making a point to call it a big mistake as it was happening.

  12. sheesh she was flat on her back in a daze. That guy Cyborg woulda killed her--smart move by the ref

That's why I said in the original post that it was prob. a good thing he stopped it.

To echo your point, when did the"Mixed" in Mixed Martial Arts start meaning a woman fighting a man????

Cyborg is an operation away from being a dude, IMO.
