ESPN has a reporter at OBD, and he said he had just got off the phone with Russ Brandon. Russ told him they "probably won't" package the two 1st rounders together to move up, and they probably won't move down either. Reporter said they believe 11 is a good spot to be in this draft.
they have done will this spot in the recent future

cant say who cuz they might loose there job but someone close to the top said we our going with orokpo or raji or maybe sanchez if there gone!
I like it, defensive playmakers!! but not sanchez

I'm not impressed with the starting QB or RB for the Bills. Edwards lacks arm strength and Lynch runs into traffic too much and he can't seem to break tackles as well as advertised.
Taking the USC QB Sanchez wouldn't be too bad and I'm thinking the Kansas State QB Josh Freeman wouldn't be so bad either.
I'm not that impressed with the crop of running backs but I'm sure the Bills can find and effective runner. I'd take Moreno even though he seems a smallish 217.
Wells is heavy at 235 put he's worth a look.
yeah lets start all over, we have no other holes except these two positions every year.
-
screw it he's a 7th rounder why not.
-
What he said.
We'd sorely miss Roscoe once he's gone. Punt returners don't grow on trees and he was the best last year.
They seem to grow on trees in Buff.

If we make this trade it would be yet another mistake by our front office IMO. I know Roscoe makes quite a bit of coin for a PR/seldom used WR but I think his contributions on special teams are more than worth it. Even if he only gets to field a couple punts a game, he usually has at least one where he flips the field position. Every time there is one that is very returnable, he has the potential to bring it back. At the very least, teams will kick away from him and sacrifice 10 or 15 yards of field position to do so.
Why we would get rid of a guy who is elite in the role he is asked to do in order to grab an extra 4th or 5th round pick is beyond me. I know we have a bunch of WRs on the roster but cut Jenkins or something. Do we really want McKelvin playing every down at CB, returning kicks, AND returning punts? I like Freddy Jackson as much as the next guy but having Roscoe return punts is a huge area of strenghth for us and I don't understand why we would continue to weaken ourselves in one of the few areas we excel in.
We have the top punt returner from college football, we have one of the top kick returners in the league and he can be switched. We have a backup running back who did great when returning. Is Roscoe the product of a good system?
how many times does our top returner have to fair catch, or otherwise have an unreturnable punt. I would do these trades.

From what they have been saying I am thinking they go playmakers with their top three picks, and pettigrew fits the mold of playmaker. I would love Scheffler as well but i would be happy with either at tight end. any chance we get both, we did do good things in two tight end sets last season.
The other two picks would hopefuly be defensive playmakers. I will be drunk in the Jim Kelly club.

I payed close attention to Ellis when he did play. He was not good. I hope he was adjusting because he looked pretty bad. This guy would would make one effort to get to the qb and just stand there clueless.
In training camp I remember Jauron saying this guy was a project which is not what you want to hear about a third rounder. The fact that a single word hasn't been mentioned is not a good sign.
And this guy dressed for 7 games? That's pathetic for a 3rd rounder that is competing with the worst group of DE's in the NFL.
how much did you pay him? payed is not a word.
-
Pettigrew can block.... and also catch. How is that not a fact?
he can in the college game, JP lossman won games in ncaa,
poz was one of the best lb's in the college game and Mike Willams dominated in the college game. Just saying there is always a risk and there is not a definite.

Nice post. I completely agree. Reed can be much more lethal than Parrish in the slot. The guy had 56 catches and 0 drops last season. I think Reed could walk all over nickel corners with T.O. and Evans on the outside.
My prediction is Reed puts up better numbers than T.O. this season.
I use to think Reed was a waste now I think very highly of him, he will be hte receiver that does all of the dirty and makes tough catches. He should really see an improvement in his numbers.
-
My choice also. Pettigrew is an every down TE and that's a rarety in the NFL.
how many nfl games has he played? you don't know this for a fact
-
Neither... way too many other holes to fill + they just burned a 4th rounder on Fine last year, see what he can do as starter first.
TE isn't one of those holes?
-
Yeah, but you gotta sign him too.
he'd be cheaper than drafting in the top 20
-
scenario 1
Buffalo takes DE at 11th and Mack at 28. With a trade for Scheffler with a 4th round pick
scenario 2
Buffalo takes a DE at 11th and moves up in front of sayyyyyy....the Falcons using their 28th and a 4th round pick to take Pettigrou
Which scenario do you like better......to me it would come down to which TE you like better.
scheffler know what you are getting.

Seriously, how does this guy factor what the Bills do on Sunday? I like the idea of a DE @ 11, but I was pleased with what I saw from Ellis in his limited play.
What are the chances of Ellis being a playmaker?
Do we NEED a playmaker and/or/because Ellis is only good enough for depth?
I've seen virtually no press on the guy. Is he that bad, or were the Bills keeping the lid on him?
You say him play? did you watch pactice? hope he turns out but not much to base anything on.
-
People piss me off when they come in from seat 1 and have to go to seat 25 .
Yeah, theres a reason that guy always gets beer spilled on him.
-
What plays were those? Two tipped ball INTs and a few nice punt returns? He won't be lining up next to Ed Reed this year, so we'll see how 'Lil Oppie really stacks up once and for all.
just watching the game you see he is good enough, some people get caught up on size, speed and stats just watch guys play and you can tell who is good. slow people don't return punts, and you don't run 40's during games. He was dynamic last year

Jim (I'm slower than Ko) Leonhard is not an answer...
He sure was for baltimore last year and got offered a lot form the jets, and he made some plays when given the opportunity for us.
-
Honestly, this just doesn't make sense. He's still on his rookie contract (isn't he??) and will bring in almost nothing in a trade. Why bother? There's no reason to get rid of a guy that can at very least be a back-up.
If he brings in a 4th that would help, maybe we are stockpiling to be able to trade some picks?
-
Dead wood is a flyin , go Brandon.
Doesn't make some recent drafts look all that good, but if this is what it takes to build a winner....
Ko just never lived up to the hype of his rookie year and has been outplayed on the field.
If he goes I could see a safety early in 4th.
Wonder what Whitner will bring????
you really heard this?
this makes Simpson, Kelsey and Parrish. Any word on McCargo?
-
I'll be there with my regular tailgate crew. Is anyone else planning on tailgating for a bit? It's going to be a very nice day!
The lot will only be open for two hoursm so don't show up too early.
I'm heading out, not knowing what to really expect.
-
I saw this also this morning and I think they should do it.
If his draft board is right we also still have a shot at Maybin or Brown with are second first round pick
I like it
Why trade up when there are other tackles, also not every body thinks he goes in the top ten anyway
-
Dude will have to earn his money in rabid Philly. The entire league will soon find out if Peters is as good as he thinks he is. Their schedule in the division is tough enough, plus they play the Panthers, Chargers, Bears, and Falcons. Hell, this town booed Santa Claus.
I wish no luck to Peters!!
