We would never be able to fully place the load on him. With that said though, adding him to the team couldn't hurt. If we frequently cycled him in and out and kept him fresh, he might be able to produce. Given how long he's been on the market, maybe the team can get him at a discount. However, we should probably wait and see what happens with Lynch before we do anything. If someone gets Alexander during that time period, it wouldn't be a huge loss because there are a couple of other out of work RBs that we could bring in to work on a platoon.

Exactly, a common breakdown in logic. All Patriot trolls, please access the following link if you still do not understand the above point: http://www.nizkor.org/features/fallacies/t...ke-a-right.html -
This approach might also help Edwards progress and become a more confident QB by taking some of the pressure off of him. This type of offense seems to suit Edwards as well and would justify the quarterback switch.* * Please note that I don't want to create another quarterback debate, as there are about 500 threads on the topic, and simply want to talk about the possible effects such an offense could have on the team.

It probably says the same thing as the Grossman experiment. Smith is a good coach, but his flaw seems to be that he develops man-crushes on certain players and refuses to give up on them. For similar situations, see Brian Billick and Kyle Boller. -

When the Bills picked Whitner 2 years ago....

Clements = overrated. He was good but will never live up to his contract. He had a very humpty-dumpty feel to him. Sometimes his plays were spectacular, other times he looked horrendous. -
No reason not to offer him a one year deal. We could then gradually introduce the person we draft into the offense as the season progresses. However, the price would have to be right. I doubt Kennison would command much on the market though.

I haven't kept up with what is going on in Miami, but are they really not going to draft a quarterback? It just seems kind of crazy that they wouldn't grab Ryan with their first pick. -

:Shakes fist: Damn you and your machine destroying brethren! You can only stand in the way of the future for so long. Go to the city and get a factory job like everyone else. I'm in the "please God let us have a winning season and make the playoffs alliance." I'm also very active in the "please change the damn uniforms group" -

It's an important position. However, the old QB debate seems to be resurfacing. Those who believe Edwards is a solid QB are advocating for a veteran QB to help him develop, while those who are not sold on Edwards desire a younger quarterback who can come in if Edwards falters. I'm not saying that such people want Edwards to fail, but the decision seems to be based on the poster's assessment of the situation. As a result, the issue is causing a great deal of debate and the assessments are inconsistent with one another because everyone is not on the same page. In my opinion, both arguments are valid as well, which simply accentuates the level of debate. Not to worry though, as soon as we sign a backup QB, the issue will die away, not that it's currently burning up the boards or anything now. The fact that it is the off season and there isn't much to talk about has also contributed to the focus on this issue.

Maybe Chris Brown knows something?
FloridaSnow replied to K-Gun10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the > vs < battle is the wrong method to use when analyzing this idea. In fact, given the multitude of variables, I really don't know how you could make a valid assessment one way or the other. How long is Sage under contract? That should play a huge role in the decision. If JP does not acquire the starting job, he will be gone after this season. If we can acquire a long-term quarterback for a short term one, the deal would definitely be worth doing. -
If they trade down, yes. If they don't trade down, maybe...

Seems about right. By the way, awesome name. However, I don't think Sisyphus ever took this long to reach the summit in between pushes.

I am in favor of bringing him back, not because I think we need him as a wide receiver but because it would really help all of the fans who have an old Moulds jersey.

Yes, he would be a nice pick up. I wonder what kind of money he wants? -
I'm sure if we were based in a big market, they would be talking us up though... Those L.A. Bills should surprise everyone this year. I think a lot of it has to do with building the hyupe for the teams the teams who have the larger audiences and that they plan on broadcasting.

I am convinced that these people don't know what they are talking about. They are the same ones who picked Detroit to win their division, the patriots to decline, and the Dolphins to go to the superbowl last year. We all know how those picks panned out.

They also contradicted themselves quite a bit though. They said Buffalo had an awful running game last year. Then, they talked about McGahee like he was the next coming of Barry Sanders. If Buffalo was unable to run the ball, then how can the running back who was central to that scheme be a great player? I understand the line had problems, but come on... I am convinced that these people don't know what they are talking about. They are the same ones who picked Detroit to win their division, the patriots to decline, and the Dolphins to go to the superbowl last year. We all know how those picks panned out.
