  1. Personally, I think more and more that the 2nd round pick is earmarked for Daymeion Hughes, CB, Cal if he lasts.

Round 3 is more where I see the RB being taken.

I don't think the Bills will take Irons...if they do they would want to see if he lasts until the third.

Hunt is a possibility but again I think they will wait to see what's there in the third.

All this changes if Peterson is by some miracle there in the 1st round but I doubt it.

I think 1st round will boil down to Okoye, Branch or Willis in that order. I expect one of the DTs to slide through to us. I would then peg the first three rounds as

    1. DT

    2. Daymeion Hughes (perfect cover 2 corner)

    3a. RB

3b. Zak DeOssie, LB, Brown (more I read about this guy and how he is also a long snapper and a great special teams player the more I think we will pick him and do it early to make sure we get him).

You think they are counting on getting a starting running back in the 3rd? I have more faith in the organization than that. Now I'm sure you are gonna post some starting back from the 3rd. What do you think the odds are that a team is gonna find a starter in the 3rd, 1 in 30 maybe ?

  2. Don't forget the Fish... For some reason every year they are picked to make the playoffs and be a Superbowl contender .

They suck and it should be noted.

Yeah, I don't know how I forgot them. It really is annoying never hearing about the Bills in the national media. I understand when they suck, but the Giants weren't any better, or the Dolphins, or the Cowboys.....

  3. If, by some strange chance, AP is still available when the Bills pick 12th you can count on the Bills snatching him up. But we all know AP won't be there. Marshawn Lynch most likely will be there when the Bills are on the clock but I can't see Buffalo using the 12th overall on Lynch. Buffalo will most likely grab DT Okoye, LB Willis or CB Leon Hall due to the fact that Buffalo is in need of one of these guys even more than RB.

The RB position, after AP, is pretty much equal in talent and a good back will be available in the second round.

Wow, a whole new perspective that hasn't been bickered about million times on this board.

  4. When talking about the draft I always see people bring up "look who was found in this round or that round" but if you put up how many players don't pan out that are drafted in the later rounds and look at it as a percentage it is probably not good. RB is too important of a position for how this team plays offense to try and "get lucky with a draft day steal".

Here here! Yes , why not show an option like this

    Lynch-A thomas

    Siler-Crowell-Spikes

    McGee-Youboty

Basically, you can get a linebacker in the 2nd (not necessarily Siler). It is an option. I really don't see why a 2nd rd running back is any less of a risk than a 2nd rd linebacker. Plus there are more starting linebackers than running backs.

  5. I'm telling you, these guys don't know as much about the Bills as a die hard local fan does. Obviously many locals have a hard time being objective, but we watch ALL the games (at least the ones we can get our hands on). These guys see a few games, but they rely on hearsay and other uninformed writers, thus you just kind of get retreaded opinions. After Marv was hired it was just the same. They don't really know what is happening here.

The market influences things too. Every year the Giants and the Cowboys are on the cusp of the Super Bowl. And then when they turn out to be average, it's said that they "underachieved". I know I didn't think either of those teams was gonna compete for the Super Bowl last season, did you?

  6. Wasn't that offense flat against the Colts? And with two weeks of rest after earning a first round bye. With the dramatic changes to their O-line in 2007, and aging Steve McNair, the loss of Adalius Thomas, and the arrival of whining McGidiot (subtraction by addition), this team will NOT go 13-3 again.

I don't think they were flat, I just think they suck. Bad receivers, bad line, bad running back, ultra-conservative play calling, and just plain no fun. They are the exact type of team that I DON'T want the rest of the league to emulate.

  7. um.....don't you think that if he was as good as he appears, he would be talked up a fair bit more than he is. I have no direct opinion either way.....except that logic would dictate that if he is that good, he would be regularly placed inside the top 6 as a can't miss prospect.

Kiper actually has him as the 5th best WR in the draft......scouts inc. has him as the #14th best talent......etc, etc, etc. Not that I place definitive stock in the 'experts' opinions but.....

Have you ever considered the concept that you may be a bit mistaken on his overall appeal as a WR?

Um... I see him talked about pretty highly and um..... I'm not necessarily talking about him as JUST a receiver and um...... I have seen so many lame EXPERT opinions that my faith in most is nil and um..... alot of great players have been taken outside the top 10 and um...... Mel Kiper is a weenie and um...... he might be the 5th best receiver, but he sure looks like the #1 big play guy in modern college history, if he isn't I want a name of someone better ( I don't mean that sarcastically, because it would be a joy to watch the plays, I really can't think of anyone).

It's funny you say "good as he appears", cause he sure does "appear" to be good, doesn't he?

I know there is more to the game, but he looks pretty special to me.

  8. Not to crap on anyone's parade here but we already have a similar receiver. If we got him, I wouldn't cry about it tho but it's not gonna happen.

I don't think anyone expects it will happen, but as good as Evans (or do you mean Roscoe?) is, he doesn't do THAT. NO ONE has done that.

  9. I know my posts about this are getting out of hand. But I don't care. Just watch 'em

    23 Plays

15 touchdowns from 50 to 100 yards (most about 80)

    5 are Red Zone TD's

3 are amazing plays where he actually gets tackled

I just want to hear about another player in the modern history of the sport that has done things like that. Is there one I don't know about?

  10. I'm not being funny here....but.....if Ginn is as good as what is being put forward by some in this thread.....why is Calvin Johnson considered the sure fire best WR in this draft? Surely if Ginn is that good, Johnson must be the best ever.

Johnson might be the best ever

I don't think there is anyone that thinks that Ginn is a better receiver than Johnson. But I have never seen more BIG plays by anyone. Ginn is definitely better after the catch.

I still don't know what to make of him. I had heard his name, saw a few highlights etc,. then I just happened upon his highlight reel and can only say that I have never seen so many big plays, so many long runs that no one even touched a guy as he ran back and forth across the field etc. I felt compelled to mention him on the board and have people check him out.

Johnson has all makings of a great receiver, deep ball, possession, red zone, jump ball, he can do it all, outrageous hands. It's easy to point to him. Ginn is obviously more of a wildcard, that's why Johnson is seen as the best receiver. If I had to choose between the two, I would take Johnson, but I'm not certain I wouldn't end up regretting it.

Those kinds of plays just can't be ignored. I suggest you watch both players highlights on Youtube.

I don't expect the Bills to pick him, but I don't want him in the division, or even the AFC.

  11. You don't.

    You draft this guy.

Same kind of runs - but from a RB.

Ginn's highlight reel is about 80% kick returns.

He might not be the best wideout threat.

Peterson on the other hand is a legit threat, and at the moment RB is a bigger need than WR.

Those aren't all of Ginn's touchdowns, just the spectacular ones. If Ginn isn't a "legit" threat I don't know what a threat is. The Peterson highlights are nice. I have seen other running back highlights through the years that were similar, an excellent back, but the sheer number of big plays by Ginn are unsurpassed. About 7 minutes worth of running and he gets tackled maybe 5 times.

I'm not posting to bicker, I know the Bills needs. But you can't knock Ginn's explosiveness. Peterson isn't even close.

Ginn ran a couple miles worth of football field without being touched.

  12. I think Tight End is a bigger need than Wide Reciever and sure don't want another player from the ohio state buckeyes, cant stand ohio state, but i do like whitner and youboty, but I hate ohio state. We haven't had a solid tight end since jay riemersma, Robert Royal didn't step it up till the last few games, and Kevin Everett is a bust.

Yeah whatever......did you watch the reel? Just enjoy it!

  13. The music was so annoying (especially toward the end) I had to watch it in little pieces. Terrific ST guy, that's for sure.

As Larry the Cable Guy points out, it's a HIGHLIGHT real, so we don't get to see any mistakes, drops, etc. With that said, very impressive.

I found an updated reel on the sidebar with an added 1:30 of Red Zone catches (and no annoying music).

(Of course, I don't know how to make a link.) the poster is "jimmyjoefro".

I don't post this to argue (those are my other posts  ), I just want people to see these plays. He is incredible

  14. OK i don't usually attack other people's opinions because everyone is entitled to their own opinion... but this is the least thought out and useless post i have EVER seen! Where i agree that RB is one of the most important positions on a team, it is also...BY FAR, the easiest position to replace. The average career of an NFL back is 2.6 years and falling, according to the National Football League Players' Association. That is why free agent RB's have had such a hard time to find a home...Rhodes left indy to try to become a featured back, instead he found a backup role behind Lemont Jordon. Jamaal lewis left the revans only to get a one year deal from Clevland who is likley to draft the dynamic petterson in round 1 to complement/replace him. On the other hand, good LB's are hard to come by. In this year's draft there are a number of RB's that can make an immediate contribution: Petterson, Lynch, Bush, Hunt, Irons, A-train, etc. on the other side of the ball there are only three first round talent LB's, Willis, Puz, and Shaw. It might be too little too late though, only time wiill tell....

    This opinion was well researched.

As I said look at the Super Bowl winners and their running backs, almost all first rounders. not a coincidence. Sure there are lots of excellents back available later, teams are successful with those guys, but not many have won Super Bowls. I don't know why but IT'S A FACT!

I agree they have short careers, that's why you have to time things just right. Right now the BIlls need the third piece of an offense's playmakers. JP and Evans are just coming into their own, it's time to get an elite back. I am not saying there is one available in this draft, but if there is, now is the time. They are up near the top of the draft, and (hopefully) next year they will be near the bottom.

  15. My favorite moment on the highlight reel is at 4:32, he has almost stopped, with 4 defenders in front of him and the rest bearing down on him from behind at full speed, and Ginn just explodes from 0 to 60 and leaves everyone behind.

I don't know what to make of him, but I have watched alot of football in my 39 years, and I have never seen so many huge plays from one guy. they just keep coming.

  16. He kinda looks like a faster version of roscoe, great athlete tho he will be fun to watch just not in a bills uni

i have never seen any footage of Roscoe doing anything like that (I like Roscoe). Play after play, untouched.

  17. Ginn is an incredible athlete I just dont know how good a WR he is...he is obviously a great return man, you can see that but why were his returns most of his highlights???

he can obviously run fly patterns but how well is he gonna be able to fight to get off the line of scrimmage

I don't know. I just know he gets the ball, runs past everybody on the field on his way to the endzone. As far as in traffic, he looked to me like a deer crossing a 7-lane freeway at rush hour (and making it across). He has amazing field vision and running instincts ("Untouchable"), and that is transferable to the pros.

I have no idea how good of a pro he will be, or how he would best be used, but if you can get the ball into his hands he seems almost magical.

I can't answer your question, and I think it is a good one.

We'll probably have to watch some other team figure it out.

  18. Just a gamebreaker.

Could have Deion Sanders type impact on games. (Please don't hate on Deion right now, I know his faults, but sometimes he could just break a game wide open)

I think he would have alot more catches if he didn't score on the returns so often. Really.

  19. It is true. I have read that many of the scouts and personnel guys left the combine thinking that the best football player there was Ginn but that he would not go number one overall because no one needs a WR that badly.

This video is sick. Ginn scored on long passes, short passes over the middle that he turns into huge TDs, WR screens, end-arounds, reverses, amazing punt returns and kickoff returns. Oh, he even scores when he lines up at QB and runs it.

    Thanks for posting that.

I can't claim my reaction is rational, but what I saw wasn't rational either. I mean UNTOUCHED! I don't get to see the dropped passes etc, but whoa! It's fun just to appreciate these plays strung together. These highlights are as good as Reggie Bush. I mean Troy Smith owes him in a BIG way for the Heisman.

He is operating in a different time/speed dimension than the other guys on the field, it's focking cosmic, just like the world is slower for Korean ping-pong players.
