  1. Cough..Dennis Miller..cough!

It's their own fault, they've driven the ratings down on their own.  This may be the worst management of a cash cow in television history.  From their seeming inabiblity to pick a decent crew to horrific sideline choices.

ESPN would pick up MNF is about 0.00001 seconds and would make a fortune.

Dennis Miller was to be the next Howard Cossell. Too bad his humour went over 99% of the viewers heads.

  2. Some assclown managed to rupture his abdomen after TKO's big INT during the opener last year.  Said assclown also happened to be the first one at Hammer's ('cept Rockpile, who camped overnite!).

Oddly enough, I'm not exactly sure who the aforementioned assclown was...

Camping overnight does not qualify as "first one there". That shall always be known as the "Rockpile Rule" when determing First Arrival.

  3. Not all bridges cause a problem, and that's what is interesting. For instance, when I take the Thruway from one side of Syracuse to the other, there are several bridges I go under. Only one, a fairly recently rebuilt one, cause a quick dropout. I figure it must be something about the steel they used versus the older ones. A parking garage I used to park in for work, I never lost signal in.

As for patching into an intercom system, that can be done. Some people have also used wireless speakers. Set up the docking station, attach the transmitter to it, then place the speakers in your work area. And the advantage is if someone else wants to listen also, they could buy their own set of speakers. Disadvantge is if you want to change the stream (channel) you need to go to the unit.

The NFL Sunday Drive package is included in the subscription, no additional charge.

  4. Jack, I've been meaning to ask you about Sirius. Starting to think of going that direction myself, got a few questions...

-Why did you pick Sirius over XM?

The NFL was part of the reason, another was a special they were running at the time (not as good as the current F&F special). Plus the number of music choices.

-How was your reception when you were down here in Olean ? And overall, I guess - find any dead-air zones anywhere, and does inclement weather affect reception the way it can sat. TV dishes?

Reception was great. The weather does not affect it like Sat TV. What can affect it is when you're underneath something, like a bridge on the highway, or heavy foliage. These dropouts don't last long, maybe one second.

-Do you have the home dock? If so, how's the sound inside? (I'm toying with the idea of seeing if one would function where I work - factory, lots of structural steel, etc., that does in most regular radio signals.... not sure how it would affect a satellite feed.)

I don't have the home dock, is the factory only one story? Or is there a window nearby? If you have a computer with internet access, subscribers can listen over the net. Without having a unit at your work to test reception, I can't say for sure if it will work for you. Some people have reported being able to get reception when their building is only one story.

    Hope this helps.

  5. Go to Sirius Direct and enter "161" in the promo code box, then click on "go"

You should now see "Special Offer" pop up next to several of the tuners, and the prices dropped to $49.99

Select the one you'd like, I personally prefer the Audiovox PNP2 with the large display and it has the Boombox option.

On the next page, for referral ID enter "SiriusBackstage" and select either the home dock or car dock.

Next page gives you the option to add more docks or other options to your order.

Next page asks if you're a new suscriber or if you already have an existing account.

Next page asks what subscription plan you'd like, you need to choose at least the miminum 6-month plan at $77.70

If you pay via credit card, these plans will auto renew at the end of the term.

Continue on with your billing and address info.

    Happy listening!

  6. There was even an episode, I think it was where Apu was studying to get his citizenship, that Homer was pointing out Springfield on a US map. Lisa tells him he's wrong and when she starts to point out where the correct location is, Bart walks into the frame, blocking the map, and asks what they're doing.

  7. well, actually, anyone happen to know if 'I, Robot' is playing in the West Palm Beach area tonight at 7:30pm?

Don't know, but I saw it a couple weeks ago at the drive-in. It was okay, not great, but I am glad I saw it now instead of waiting to see it on HBO, or Skinamax.

  8. If they lose, they go HOME.

They go home to their families to move forward with their lives.

They wont be killed by Uday.

They wont be tortured by Uday.

Their children will not be raped while the players and their wives watch.

Their homes and possessions will not be confiscated.

Exactly what I was thinking would be the perfect response to the original question.
