Hilarious. Guess the OP missed that.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Still gonna rot. Wish they would've compelled Bellicheck to testify though.

Voice of reason once again.I have no idea who they will take, and I tend to prefer that they take the best player at an elite position -- d-line, cb, qb, wr, maybe TE. But WR is DEFINITELY a need. They have precisely one good receiver and last I checked, the NFL is a passing league. The Bills need to improve their passing game if they want to take the next step. They of course need help on defense, but getting another receiver is just as important. They can't go into the season with Watkins (who recently had surgery again) and a bunch of nobodies.
This idea that drafting a particular player at a core position is a "bad investment" of resources is nonsense. Get the best players you can.
There's a lot of holes; we all know that. All of you mentioning our "run first" offense seemed to have forgot we fired all our coaches. Who knows what dennison wants to do with this personnel? If M. Williams or C. Davis is there at 10 and they take either of them, you're going to seriously say that pick doesn't help the team???

So where is the line drawn? A lot of you in this thread are advocating that you can't really know a wide receiver's potential because we don't know if and how he will "separate" from NFL DBs. Apparently that half-argument is enough to justify passing on 2 elite wide outs who the bills are in a great position to draft. Sorry i aint buying that brandy.
The defense needs to be improved. Luckily this draft is deep with defensive backs. Unless the safety from OSU falls to us, i say take williams or davis and be happy.

You dont "platoon" wr's.......there are on any given NFL player several pass catcher's in the formation. This sounds more like a bitching session about Tyrod Taylor then it is not understanding why you would take a offensive weapon.
Am I wrong?

....agree 100%.....they're pinning their hopes on a healthy Sammy and backfilling with inexpensive FA pickups hoping either they shine or one of the kids still on the roster does.....Listenbee (WR) or Thomas (TE) come to mind......can't see spending MORE money or a 1st on receiving corp until TT demonstrates he can process the field in allotted time and find receivers open which has NOT happened so far IMO........
And I can easily make the argument that how are you giving TT a decent shot at developing those processing and reading skills with poor receivers that can't get open regularly? Pretty easy for opposing defenses to double cover Sammy when kolby listenbee is the one playing on the other side of the field.
Chicken or the egg.
LB is more Important then a WR that might get 50 catches.
If you're talking about a 4-3 middle LB that captains and coordinates the defense then yes I agree. But I'd say a WR2 is more important than some rotational weak side backer who gets rotated out on nickel packages.

wr is not that thin for a run first team and we have no corners. get the point now?
Not yet. You seem to be assuming a lot about a brand new coaching staff. And how is having only 1 proven WR not thin? No corners? Darby doesn't count anymore? Pretty sure he had a decent rookie campaign. So no, i don't get your point.
-
WR unit is just as thin as the LB and DB units, so not sure what your point is.

Aaron Maybin.

Looking back, how many seasons have the Bills been in legitimate "cap jail?" I don't recall any, at least in the Nix/Whaley era. They've had the money to, for example, sign Mario Williams to a record breaking deal, and he produced admirably during his time here, at least until he became a malcontent.
I agree with mjt - the biggest problem with the current regime (and, frankly, pretty much all the previous regimes since the drought began) is poor college scouting and drafting. The misses on QB alone in the very recent past (Carr, Prescott) makes me doubt Whaley and his people more than any questionable free agent signings or resignings.
Oh, and stop making Overdorf the scapegoat. It's a popular hobby around here. He doesn't do anything unilaterally. Sure he has input into contract structures and such - he's the one negotiating them. But to think he can override the roster decisions of GM or ownership and pick who to pay is a little nuts.
-
I see no reasons why McCaffery can't succeed as a 3rd down back/slot receiver in the pros. Sure he's a bit too small to be an exclusive, every down running back, but I don't think any team considering drafting him expects him to play that role. I see him as more of a sure thing than Peppers. Getting closer to the draft, I am seeing more and more reports on his negatives, which some of you have already pointed out. Seems like Peppers best fit in the NFL is at safety, but even at S there are concerns.

I just do not trust the NFL esp Goodell, I think they would all slit our throats for an extra dollar. ( not really but... ) God I miss the days before Free agency
Yeah the days before free agency, when rich owners could buy and sell athletes as chattel - those were the days! You're so out of touch it's a bit disturbing.
Also, what does free agency have to do with team relocation? Your statement seems to indicate that you think there is some connection.

I agree we shouldn't discourage people who post inside info, but look at the nature of the post. This is clearly a lamp post with the "you heard it here first".
Exactly. Plus the fact that OP went silent when I questioned the timing of this thread, considering it coincided with the twitter nonsense about Shady's instagram post. Put all that together and this sounded like attention whoring from the start.
The few posters we have that have actual occasional inside information are valuable. Sorry but IMO opinion this isn't a place to play make believe and attempt to mislead the board. Goofing on each other is fine (and encouraged!) but s***posting/trolling belongs on reddit.

I've read the same. Doubt he takes a serious look at us or any team with an established starter, at least until his options narrow. My guess is he's looking for a place to start. Jets still don't have a starter.....he'll sign as a backup as a last option

If 55 is the accepted minimum it looks like a lot of guys struggle to hit that just from what I've read in this thread. What's the ideal #?
-
I would lean towards no right now, just due to the chronic nature of the foot injuries.
-
Because there is no chance they land someone like Jeffery. But why?
-
Wisconsin guy, 27, just under 50 starts all at RTHe's one guy I know very little about, anyone with info?

You guys sound bitter.

Any one of those three would cause me to give up tickets.honestly, I see none of those three filling seats. if anything, it would prevent some from renewing their seasons. one head case and two failed prospects wont sell tickets imo...
-
Indeed. Team not good. Team need get better. Me like.INteresting stuff
We don't need threads like this new people.
-
I already don't like these new guys. Christ.

Heard it here first. Posters who make preposterous claims in thread titles receive an off season.
Draft the Person first, not the player!

In other words, dismiss any evidence that doesn't fit your narrative. Got it.
