The catch was “good”. Not amazing. Not spectacular.

What made it incredible was the ground he covered.

Absolutely! In the stadium it looked like a sure touchdown, I practically gave up on the play. I still don't know how he got there that fast! Incredible.

I don't understand how Hyde was listed as day to day instead of out indefinitely if things are serious enough to warrant a second opinion.

He was not listed as day to day. McDermott said in a press conference that he was "taking it day by day," in other words "taking his rehab one day at a time," in other words he wasn't actually saying anything at all.

I thought he made some good anticipatory short throws to guys who were NFL covered.

Oh, for sure.  I would like to see time to release stats, but yes the Dolphins were playing the "get the ball out fast" game.

Joe Marino read out his split stats when he releases in 2.5 seconds or less vs. over 2.5 seconds and the splits were very sharp. The numbers are sparkling when it's under 2.5 and I believe it was worst in the NFL when over 2.5 seconds.

  4. The big one to me is Hyde. We could more easily replace Poyer than Hyde because Johnson seems like a pretty good box safety but I'm not sure who can play deep the way Hyde does. You especially want him out there against Hill and Waddle. That's the one I'm watching for.

I said here, many times over, Bill Belichick is basically Lovie Smith minus Tom Brady. I'm sure I'll get the same cute eye roll emoji's from some.

Bill Belichick is the most fortunate head coach in the history of the NFL.

Lovie wouldn't have won 6 chips. One or two, like McCarthy with Rodgers. That's the difference the elite coach made. He supported Brady and allowed him to make run after run after run. It was a dynasty because they had both.

I wouldn't touch that one. Bills are going to try and not put Josh in harms way as much. They'll try and run it more with the backs closer to the goal line. I expect and hope his rushing numbers are down a lot this year. He should not be rushing for 700 yards on a season like last year. Moe like 400 -450. Take away most of the called runs.

Not sure about straight up bet but +2.5 is the perfect number to tease. Tease up +1.5 to +2.5 and tease down -7.5 to -8.5

I may well play the Rams in a teaser.

Nailed it as Morris is a zone guy.  If memory serves didn’t Diggs torch Ramsey a couple of times in the Bills/Rams game in 2020.  The announcers kept making so much of Ramsey and then Diggs just torches him in the end zone.

Yeah that was a sweet rep by Diggs, short touchdown. That was a wild game I think the Bills went up 28-3 and the Rams came all the way back before we won.

My question is then: do the Rams play a more zone or man-heavy coverage scheme?

I know Ramsey is a beast in press man. But do they sprinkle in a healthy mix around that?

We all know McKenzie has flashed primarily against man coverage (Patriots and Dolphins). Crowder is presumably pretty well versed beating zones?

Raheem Morris is their DC and goes back to the Tampa 2 in Tampa and worked under Quinn in Atlanta so probably safe to assume they play a lot of zone.

Everyone is high on the dolphins this year. Wouldnt be surprised if Bill puts a whooping on them though. Tua will likely have a terrible game.

Seems like people are high on Miami every year.

@GunnerBill is suggesting that ONLY the rams FO did enough last offseason to put their team in position to win a super bowl.  I think that’s incorrect.  Do you agree GB?  Or do you think that multiple teams were in position to win the SB with the rosters they had, but just didn’t get it done for various reasons?

You very obviously have a point here. If you could play the postseason scenario out 1000 times would the Rams win the Superbowl every time, of course not. Maybe they would win with the highest frequency, maybe not.

Winning the Superbowl does not prove you are the best team. Again: winning the Superbowl does not prove you are the best team. It is a combination of skill and luck.

GunnerBill thinks like a coach and their job is to disregard luck because there's no value in thinking about that. Good coaches and players focus all their energy on the parts of it that are in their control.

Specter over Giles -Harris (and McCloud over Giles-Harris) had to be difficult.

I thought Giles-Harris was pretty good in the pre-season.

Has it been said Giles-Harris was cut? I've had them keeping him.

I had a Karen at Home Depot once.  I own a pit mix who is the sweetest dog I’ve ever had.

I walk in with her and a HD associate walks up to me and asks me to keep a strong grip on the leash…she doesn’t want my dog to attack anyone in the store.

I told her this is a very sweet dog and will not attack anyone.

She responds that she’s sees on the news that these dogs attack people all the time.

She doesn’t want an incident in the store.

I looked at her and just dropped the leash to the ground and she stormed away upset.  I think she went to get to Manager but I’m sure that guy didn’t give a **** because no one came up to me after.

Every single man or woman who has ever died in any war for this country did so so that Keep could go down on a knee before a football game.

When you piss on Keep, you piss on every one of those dead heroes.

    That's heavy.

Your missing the point… the offense without Allen and with Keenum would struggle to be middling IMO…. They lack depth offensively and will be in “Josh has to do everything” mode with a couple injuries due to that lack of depth…. Find it funny people are clamoring for Tavon Austin to make the roster and see playing time. 😅

And you saw in Brady’s last year in NE him fall off due to the ***** receivers they put around him.

I think some people forgot that stretch of pretty damn bad offensive play last season against Indy, Jax, and NE….

I'm with you that I wish they had prioritized stocking up at WR more than they did but "they'd be middling with Case Keenum playing all year" is a weird way to go about saying that.

Case Keenum at QB is a crappy situation. To say they'd be average with a low-end starting quarterback is a huge compliment to everyone involved.

In your scenario everyone around Keenum is so good that they elevate him.

In the modern NFL you're supposed to lose when the other team has better quarterback play. QB is really, really important.
