Unless you get a third round pick or better it doesn't seem to make much sense. I agree the three running backs seems to be causing problems but giving one away for free doesn't help

Mallett is also getting a bad rep for his personal behavoir.

Two things 1 we don't know what he is being paid so it is hard to judge . 2 Coaches come and coaches go and they all seem to think he is useful , perhaps they see him as a good early down olb moving forward.
