  1. Most likely scenerio is Thigpen comes in as free agent to back up Fitz and Buddy and chan draft 4-7 round guy they see some potential in. I will say this , I could see a slight chance that chan falls is love with Newton's skill set but I think that is a small chance of happening. I would have to think both Buddy and Chan have seen enough of the run defense to make that number one priortiy .

  2. I am so sick of the Ralph won't spend any money argument . A few years ago when Levy took over he dumped about 100 million in one day. What great free agents have left in the last few years. Nate Clements ? nobody would have matched that contract. I would say Greer was the best player to leave but we were pretty deep at the position. If this team ever gets that talent level up then we will see if he is willing to keep players. There is no way to measure the damage Dick Jauron has done to this team. 4 years of draft and aquiring players to fit his outdated defensive system.

Cleary we have a different group in place . For the first time I feel as though the people Buddy/Haley making the decisions will make the right ones most of the time . NOBODY IS PERFECT. Take a look at the some of the PATS drafts . The quaterback and the system cover alot of personal sins.

  3. Thanks, all, and Merry Christmas. Keep the Rx coming; I'm not sure there is agreement about what our P2's are, whether QB is a need, and is OLB or ILB a bigger need.

just saw the latest mock on draft tek

as for the second round pick , are you saying that poz can play/better suited for wilb or wilson is an upgrade.

  4. It would not shock me at all to see Wang get cut in the offseason......I have been told I am reading way to much into it but it just strikes me as odd that we have to bring in players to man that guard and RT position when we drafted Wang and we wont play him

His learning curve must be big time

Wang was drafted as a developmental left tackle. With Bell both playing well and healthy they have moved wang to see if he could play other positions. In the end he may just be a developmental left tackle. Let see what an offseason of strength and conditioning do for him before we jump to any conclusions

  5. Chans good buddy Dave Wannstadt resigned dec. 7th from the university of Pittsburg head coaching position.Very curious.Would you want him as our new d.c..?What say you-bills nation?I also would like to wish everybody a very happy holiday season.go bills.

    I would rather have wade

  6. Love this Mock, has every thing we need for four rounds especially NO mid round QB bums. I would trade back and get Castonzo and use the extra pick to get a good end, but overall right on the money.

    1.Marcell Dareus DE

    2.Justin Houston OLB

    3.Matt Reynolds ROT

    4.Konrad Reuland TE

    4.Josh Bynes WILB

that is the bst one I have seen to date although I really am hoping fairly falls to the bills at 4 or 5 .

  7. This is still and uncapped year,it would be wise for the Bills to lock up as many players as they can before the Super bowl. I wouldn't expect to see any signings until after the Jets game , this late in the year the last thing you want to do is to pay one guy and leave the rest wondering what is going on. As for Whitner I would like to keep him , as someone pointed out losing him leaves another hole to fill. That said I would not overpay for him and that looks like where they stand.

I think they key freeagents to address are Poz, florence, and wilson

Should be a crazy offseason either way

  8. Just for the fun of it, I recently went over to a couple Browns boards and read where a number of Browns posters spoke of how often Ahtyba Rubin has gotten pushed around this year. While Wood looked good in his debut at center, lets not go over board. Lets see what he can do against the likes of Wilfork, etc.

he holds his own against Wilfolk the move will be permanent

  9. Watching NFL Countdown and both Fewell and Mularkey were considered leading candidates for the HC position in Denver. I think it would be very interesting to see what Meathead could do with a second go around. I thought he had some potential but completely disintegrated and ejected out of a horrible situation before he did more damage to his career. Fewell? Definitely doing a good job in NY but doesn't have too long of a track record.

    RTB

they jsut spent two years redoing d to 3/4 , so grabbing fewell would be a big setback. File why we need to stay the course

  10. 1 5 Da'Quan Bowers DE34 Clemson or Marcell Dareus DE34 Alabama

2 37 Jake Locker QB Washington or Nate Solder OT Colorado

3 74 Dontay Moch OLB34 Nevada or Luke Stocker TE Tennessee

4 101 Matt Reynolds OT BYU or Jabaal Sheard OLB34 Pittsburgh

5 133 Mike McNeill TE Nebraska or Casey Matthews ILB Oregon

6 165 Greg Romeus OLB34 Pittsburgh or James Brewer OT Indiana

7 197 Terry Griffin DT34 Elizabeth City State or Kenny Rowe OLB34 Oregon

I used DraftTek's simulator and have posted the simulator's pick first, plus an attractive second choice, to get the Bills' positional needs ready for the December mock coming out this week. Our mock right now has BPA at each of the first 4 rounds and has Dareus picked first. Let me know which player you like, or offer another player.

    Astro

I would really like fairly in the first roud. but based on your choices I would take

    1 Dareus

    2 solder

    3 moch

    4 reynolds

    5 matthews

    6 brewer

    7 rowe

heavy on olineman . seeing how it workouts you could prob go D front 7 in round 2as well and pickup some solid right tackle prospects along the way.

  11. I am also hoping to fix right tackle through free agency , clary or colon.

I wouls skip ponder and just go d with first 5 picks

would love to see upshaw fall to us in third

based on who would be available

    1 dareus de

    2 watt de

    3 moch olb

    4 curtis brown cb

    4 josh brynes ilb

def taking a couple of tight ends late

we get to do this for 4 more months

  12. This has to be one of the worst ideas ever posted. You don't just pick any QB. All you have to do is see what Donahoe did in 2004. He tried desperately to trade up for Roethlisberger and failed. So using your theory, he decided that he could pick another QB in the 1st round and ended up with JP Losman. That's the same JP Losman who is thrilled to be Seattle's 3rd string QB. Locker a great QB worth a top 5 pick? :wallbash::wallbash::wallbash:

    well said

  13. I agree with Jolly , I mentioned him before. He would be a great fit to our D line. Would also like to add a rotational guy like Gabe Watson a true 3/4 nose tackle, the addition of these two players would give them great flexabilty and allow them to use multiple fronts. Lets face it Stroud had no place on this team .

Qb I would guess Thigpen(free agent ) comes aboard back up Fitz. I believe he is a free agent

I could see a tight end or even two added. Matt Spleath from Pittsburgh mkes a lot of sense, they seem to like grabbling players they are familiar with. Jeff King would also be a relatively cheap useful addition.

and finally I would keep an eye on Willie Colon, according to Rotoworld he is unsigned after this year. Again another player that Haley has a past with. If fully recovered would round out a young a developing Offensive line. Bell, Levitre , Urbik or Hhandy, Wood and Colon , with Howard, Wrotto and Wang as back ups .

That would allow the draft to be heavy on Linebackers. Quinn in the first , maybe Upshaw in the third . Second round then could become a best available/need player weather it be a Qb , corner, another d line man or even an additional linebacker .

The team is really not that far off from playoff contention.
