Is Tom Donahoe ready to pay a franchise player for one year?

No Progress: The AP is reporting that there is no progress in negotiations for a new long term deal for Nate Clements. His agent told the AP that he plans on meeting with Tom Donahoe on Sunday when he's in town for the game. Both sides of stated that if a deal wasn't done before the season started they would suspend talks until after the season. At this point it appears very likely that Clements will become an unrestricted free agent in 2006.

We could all see that Lindell stunk, why did they wait until 6 days before the home opener? Really makes you wonder..............

The NFL announced that the Saints-Giants game will be played on Monday, September 19 as part of a nationally televised doubleheader. Originally scheduled for September 18 at the Louisiana Superdome, the contest was moved to Giants Stadium due to the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina. Commissioner Paul Tagliabue announced the switch Friday. The game now will begin at 7:30 p.m. EDT and be televised by ABC, then switched to ESPN at 9 p.m, when ABC goes to the regularly scheduled game between the Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys.

Oh hell, don't try to be real here,they will throw you to the wolves. I said last years opener was a must win and it turned out we really needed that game at the end. I say every game vs the AFC is a must win. The opener will set the pace if we win.

Let's see how our defense holds up IF our offense goes 3 and out most of the time and Lindell is missing field goals. I hope it's not the case but as you can see, i'm not feeling real good about this year. As always....... GO BILLS!

I'll take the 4 1/2 and take the Texans. I have a feeling the Texans will cover this one. Although I have not seen Houston play this year. I have heard they are struggling on offense. We have no idea how our rookie QB will respond when the game gets turned up a notch and the real bullets start flying. If preseason is any indication of what's to come it's going to be a long season of throwing the remote at the TV.

DeeRay, many of us feel the way you do about this team this year. I guess we will have to wait and see what happens this year. I'm going to try and hold off on pissing in the corn flakes until week 4 or so. You are not the only one that can see major flaws in the way Tom Donahoe builds a football team. I just don't understand why you can't call a spade a spade on this board without someone getting mad? I see a lot of broken hearts around her this season. I hope this team gels but from the looks of preseason, it's a mess.

I cringe everytime he lines up to kick. He really does stink 50% of the time. Why we still have him, I have no idea.

I'm glad to see him make the team. I see him getting better every game this year if he gets some playing time! Special teams or whatever!

What's the word on Nate Clements? How serious is his injury? Nothing like playing a superstar in the final preseason game.
