Texas justice?
Fan in San Diego replied to Cheeseburger_in_paradise's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Sorry to hear about your horrible experience in Austin. I hope can get some peace from the ordeal. I almost had a similar experience yesterday myself, thankfully it didn't go down that rabbit hole like yours did. I was driving my car to eat my lunch in a nearby park. I was inside the park's parking lot going about 3 MPH looking for a place to park to eat my lunch which I do quite frequently. So I passed a 50 to 60 year old woman walking the opposite direction, my window is down, so I smiled and nodded my head to say hello without verbally saying hello. I saw in my rear view mirror that she had stopped turned around and had a funny look on her face. I wondered to myself could she be glaring at me for smiling and nodding my head? I thought no. So I park my car about 1/2 mile down the road when I notice that same woman on a cell phone looking kind of upset or something. I'm thinking is she calling the police? No it can't be, how would that conversation go on the phone, 911 I want to report a suspicious man, he smiled at me. That would be a ridiculous call no? Well 5 minutes later a police car comes roaring up behind me and turns around. I was outside my car at that time already talking with a friend who was eating his lunch as well. The cop stops and looks at me for 5 seconds then roars off. I'm sure it was because of that stupid lady, what if he decided to stop and question me, or worse detain me? I'm not ever going to smile or wave at anyone in public again. People are just getting ridiculous when it comes to strangers. The old school etiquette of being polite to strangers is over I think. It can get you into trouble. -
What's With All the Anti-Police Riots?
Fan in San Diego replied to Rob's House's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Glad you asked. Have you ever said "Oh drop dead" or "Go to hell" or something like that. It isn't meant literally but figuratively meaning disapproval of the person or subject. God I can't believe I have to explain this, everyone is so literal. Like I really would wish that someone would die, far from it. -
What's With All the Anti-Police Riots?
Fan in San Diego replied to Rob's House's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
You don't pay attention to the facts of a story and turn it into some political babble. Here is the real reason for the riots, an excerpt form the linked article Earlier in the day, the Anaheim Police Association said that the Anaheim officer who fired a fatal shot at an unarmed man this weekend saw some kind of object in the man's waistband and feared it was a weapon. The association's account, and a $50 million lawsuit filed by the man's mother, offered new details about the shooting that killed 25-year-old Manuel Angel Diaz. An attorney for Diaz's mother said he was shot in the back, then fell to his knees and was shot again in the head. People are sick of unarmed citizens getting shot and killed by the police. It happens all the time here in San Diego county by the police and border patrol. And what is with defaming me with your tag line? One sentence misconstrued is supposed to be what I'm really like? Your delusional. -
Funny stuff, I know nothing, not the best name for a political party though

Don't know about all this kitty stuff. But what I miss from being a kid is sleeping on a day bed on my parents front screened porch and listening to thunder storms. Seeing the lightening and counting how many seconds to hearing thunder. One evening a huge electrical tower by Queen st. in Fort Erie that ran across to Buffalo was hit by lightening and the sparks and light lit up the sky for about 30 seconds. Must have been around the year 1965. Good times and good memories. I still to this day love watching lightening and thunder storms, I sleep like a baby.

What does improved D-line really mean?

This defense needs to be able to stop 3rd and long. How many times would we see any team convert 3rd and long on us. It was very frustrating to watch. -
This is why I dont go to the movies anymore

Yes maybe I didn't set the logic up as well as I could have, that article just added a few more reasons to the long list I had already. Although dev/null and Poojer seemed to get it! -

You guys have missed the intention of the thread. Just that movie theatres are becoming more and more intolerable because of stupid people. -

Not because I'm afraid of people with assault weapons so much but because people are stupid and annoying and interfere with my movie experience. That article just had some good examples. A guy shows up with a back pack and they harass and search the guy. Who needs the aggravation, the expensive snacks, chatty people talking during the movie, the list goes on. And did someone piss in your croissant this morning? -

People are crazy. It's just not worth going to a theatre anymore and being affected by this crap. My HD tv and surround sound is just fine for watching a movie and its a lot cheaper as well. Article -
Penn State sanctions handed down

Your wrong about cultures, your vision of corporate boardrooms and culture is horrible. 99.9% of corporate cultures and boardrooms would have done the right thing and turned in the perps. You have been watching too many movies my friend. -
Great quote, I hate when freedoms and liberties are taken away for our safety. The most dangerous trend in the US today. That and the tea party.

Wear the tie if it's important to everyone. If you don't it could come back and bite you in the ass someday. That will stick in the back of everyone's mind.

Brad Smith..Why is his spot supposedly safe?

The wildcat was a mixed success last year and didn't really scare anyone. I would be OK with cutting Smith and keeping another WR on the roster and keeping Thigpen for QB depth. -

It's bigger than that. They want to crush a culture that gave people the motivation or desire to look the other way. They also want to send a message to all schools to put kids first and report crimes against kids. When you want to put out a fire a lot of stuff gets doused that wasn't burning. -
