So many gun owners are clueless on the basics of gun safety. Too many innocent people end up suffering as a result.

The dude needs to retire ASAP. He achieved his legacy - The court is controlled by the right, Roe is gone.

I wish someone like Jared Polis was running.Gretchen Whitmer would be a fun choice too.
Agree. Andy Beshear, governor of Kentucky would be another interesting option.

Given the current limited choices…
Probably will vote Biden but wish there were a younger Dem optionI would seriously consider Christie, Haley or Scott - I think they are all capable, sane Republicans but would need to learn more about their positions on issues. I also doubt they can turn the direction of the party away from Trumpism.
Will never vote Trump, Desantis, swampy Swamy or RFK jr. They are all insane.

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.” Mark Twain
So true. The best cure to bigotry is to travel to another culture. The most bigoted people I have met have never traveled outside the USA and rarely even go to cities. Travel forces you to understand that people from different cultures are more the same to us than different. It also makes you dependent on people of other cultures for survival. The world is full of helpful happy people in many other countries.

Has anyone stated why the roads were blocked? That is the part that seems the most insane to me, that they would not let people escape. Lack of alarm is incompetence, lack of water supply is incompetence but to actively stop the escape reeks of some intent that I can not fathom.
On social media I heard power poles were down, possibly blocking roads. Not sure how accurate that is though.
Overall it sounds like a lack of money spent on fire prevention and mitigation. Utility pole replacement when strength is compromised, grass and fuel management, building codes, and emergency planning, upgrading water systems, alarms, etc. Maintenance and prevention all takes money that some communities or corporations may not want to spend. A similar fire happened in 2014 with residents warning of the existing danger so this one wasn’t an unknown hazard.

The Bills have primarily been a finesse team than physical.
But now the Bills have Torrence a mountain of a man. Not so soft anymore.
Yes. The Cinci playoff game showed this weakness of the team. Bean tried to address this by getting bigger through the draft and free agency. Hopefully it pays off this year.

So does the Supreme Court, ‘remember’ that ?
It’s not hard to understand the difference. Challenging the election result in court is legal. Trump did that and lost 60 times. When Gore lost in court, he conceded.

If he had conceded like Hillary and Al Gore, hundreds of people’s lives would not have been wrecked. He would also be in a much better position to seek re-election. You can’t cure stupid.

Fuel (grass) management and building codes would help prevent another one from occurring. That whole town was built of kiln dried wood, all ready to burn with big fields of dry grass right next to it.

Meanwhile, Rudy and the rest of the criminal enterprise are complaining that Trump isn’t paying their legal bills. These idiots are finally learning that loyalty to Trump is a one way street. Trump never pays his bills to individuals who work for him. Even more ridiculous is that the brainwashed cult ignores all of it and maintain their devotion to a fat guy, who wears makeup and can never be seen until he has carefully done his hair and fixes it all in place with a can of hairspray. And they think he is one of them!

We shouldn't assault it. The nuclear family doesn't need to be defeated, it's not an enemy. You asked why nobody has explained this to you, maybe it's because you're being kinda a d1ck about the way you asked.
And yes, spirituality fits in there also. Are you going to passive aggressively be a d1ck about that too?
Sorry to offend you with my insensitive wording. I didn’t realize you were so thin skinned.
Im all for supporting families. All kinds of families. They do form the basis of society and all kids need the love they provide.

The nuclear family
Do I need to define THAT to you children too.
That’s a subject, not a value. Values are beliefs that guide actions or policies. Joy, justice, love, faith, honesty, integrity, etc are values.
So it sounds like you only support families with traditional mother, father and children. That leaves out a lot of America.

The last Republican platform was whatever Trump wanted.
Im guessing the current platform top 5 is:Guns for all, overturn any laws limiting access to guns.
Repeal gay marriage. Oppose anything related to LGBTQ.
Nationwide abortion ban
Tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations.
Christianity religion in the schools- 2

I honestly have no idea what traditional family values so adored by the right are. We had this discussion a while back and no one on the right wing would define what they are.

I’m late to the party on this one. I just heard the song for first time today. Personally, I like the song representing the plight of struggling workers regardless of race or party. Corporate capitalism rules America. One party has preached trickle down economics for years. “America - love it or leave it”, etc. Labor unions have been broken. Pensions are no more, instead workers get 401ks. If jobs can be outsourced to other countries for cheaper cost, they will be. Corporations get bailouts but not regular people. The struggle of the working class crosses racial and party lines and could be a uniting force but politicians would rather keep America divided on social issues. If anyone doesn’t support the status quo you get labeled a commie. This is where we’re at.

The OP could’ve thrown in telling his grandkids about living to see the start of the Bills dynasty, just to see if anyone noticed. But no, just more of the usual doom and gloom! 😉
Definitely an oversight to not mention the start of the dynasty!

The 1960s experienced a lot of social change and upheaval. This seems to be another period of change in our history. Climate change, social media, Trump, J6, Covid, changes in business, technology, social change, etc. It all has been a lot for older people to adjust to, easier for the younger. Change is constant. We’ve had other presidents with aging minds.

Awww! I was so looking forward to hearing all his evidence for why he really won the election. His 100 page report that he promises will exonerate him must be lost in Mara Lago with his health care plan.

I’m sure Hawaii officials will study this disaster inside out to make sure it doesn’t repeat in the future. It seems likely that it was multiple bad factors happening together to create the firestorm of death.
