  1. Yeah, after seeing the replay it looks like Peters has the entire left side of the field available to run to if Moorman gets the ball to him.
  2. Yes a very fundemantal error. 10 year old pee wee players are taught to watch the mid section of the defender they are trying to block and slide their feet with the player. Maybe easier said than done, but all you have to do is occupy the defender. You don't have to pancake him and biting on the fake so badly is not what you expect from a pro. You expect him to make that block nearly every time. In fact you demand it.
  3. Nothing macho about it. They need to improve their short yardage game and giving up won't do that.
  4. I loved that call. For not a missed block he walks in. A missed block on the goal line on a run usually results in a stop by the defense.
  5. Likely Marino's influence on the show. Can't stand to see his home boys (especially the QB) get beat up. Plus the media has had the spotlight on Culpepper since he became the savior of the Dolphins. The Bill's D was great, but also Culpepper just not very good. Gonna be a long season for him, but not longer than 16 games.
  6. Maybe so, but let's hope we're all smart enough not to vote for her next time she runs for anything.
  7. Jets are the blue collar team in NY/NJ while the Giants appeal more to the kinder gentler crowd (although not that kind or gentle). Both are annoying.
  8. You read my mind. The league supports minority ownership and Troy appears to have a great deal of business sense.
  9. If he feels that way about JP then he must feel that way for about 20 starting QBs in the league.
  10. Appreciate your insight and all of the detail. I'm not ready to say Bill McGahee is having success. He's had a few decent runs, but 3.6 yards per carry is not good enough. It's early yet, but that needs to be closer to 4.5 yards per carry to be a big threat IMO.
  11. You don't feel it's a bit premature to make that judgement?
  12. It's time the Bills running game got going. Bill McGahee, let's get going!
  13. I have lived in Chicago since '94. Dick Jauron was hired by the GM previous to current GM Jerry Angelo. In Angelo's 2nd year (maybe 1st year), the Bear's went 13-3 and won the division. Most people think they over-achieved that year based on the talent on the team. Jauron was reluctantly given a contract extension by Angelo who many feel wanted his own hand-picked coach in there. The Bear's had a horrible season the following year with many injuries to starters and Jauron was then on the hot seat. DJ came out publically in support of his assistant coaches when nearly everyone wanted John Shoop and Greg Blache canned. Speculation that Angelo wanted them out too but Jauron would not budge. I think Dick held on for another season and again the Bears did not win and he was fired. Other speculation was that Jauron and Angelo disagreed over a number of personnel decisions. I will say that when the bears were losing, DJ was just horrible publically showing no emotion in a town that craves Ditka-like intensity from the coach. DJ was his usual even-keeled polite self in the face of terrible critism. Fans in Chicago were glad to see him go at the time, but there are players and media members that still show strong support for DJ. Angelo, incidentally tried to hire Nick Saban, but got Lovie Smith as a second choice.
  14. Why not? They need a QB and might draft high enough to get him.
  15. Hard to change the origianl outlook because Miami is not very good.
  16. What the heck is a usual Nick Saban team? The guy has coached fewer than 20 games in the NFL. Why is the media in love with this guy?
  17. Saban won't allow his assistant coaches to be interviewed. Sounds like he should impose that on himself too.
  18. Kids in south florida are a lot meaner than the kids in WNY.
