Beane is great at overpaying average talent to fill holes and using draft picks to add more average talent. No big whiffs, but a lot of singles and doubles in UFA.

That’s why we keep missing the playoffs and finishing the season with an average record.  Maybe the next GM will set the team up as a perennial playoff team and AFC East champ that wins 10 or more games a season. Oh wait…

WHOA. Who gives up a DC job in the NFL to take some time off? It smells of trouble of some sort. Not a decision I would expect unless it was an issue more important than football.

Well Now our team Does need to hire someone new. Im surprised personally. I hope all works out okay with whatever caused this decision.

He will be 64 in a month.  It isn't like some 30 year old guy just walked away from a job.

What was Bills average last 3 post seasons again?

You are deflecting.  The fact is that very few defenses look great throughout the playoffs consistently.  I certainly hope the Bills improve their defense and perform better next post season.  I am simply stating that you can pick apart almost any defense when they are playing the best teams in the playoffs.

I think most of Bills Mafia agrees the Bills offense looked broken since the 2nd half of the Green Bay game.  And the Bills offense didn’t show up in playoffs

The Bills scored the 4th most TDs in the league in 2022.  4 more than the Bengals.  They scored 30 or more points 6 times after the Green Bay game.  There is no doubt that there were times the offense stalled, but the amount of complaining about the offense is ridiculous.  I do hope they improve as always, but the sky is not falling and Dorsey is not a bad OC.  I would love to see a stud WR to line up outside with Diggs and a couple upgrades on the O line, but to imply that the Bills are not one of the top offenses in the league is simply false.

  5. Watching some football shows today. Rachel Bonnetta might be the most annoying, horrible, unqualified person on tv.  Not only does she act like an 8 year old after a six pack of jolt cola, but she has zero insight.  She is like the female version of Michael Irvin but without any football knowledge. And she is actually reading off a sheet of paper during NFL GameDay.

You’re barking up the wrong tree. People don’t want to hear it. But you’re right - “just good enough” is great for the regular season but unless you fix that sloppiness, it can bite you in the playoffs against elite teams.

So do the Bengals have to worry about all of their one score wins that were "just good enough" or is it just the Bills that will get bit?

If both teams were completely healthy, the Bengals would have the edge.  We'd have Hyde back at full strength, and White playing like White.  And of course Von Miller would be there.  But that's it.  The team without just those two and half absences is nowhere near as good as the Bills were at the start of the season.  Getting the back would make them better but not by that much.

But the Bengals are in far worse shape.  They're down three starters on the O line.  They're going to need to keep their RB in the pocket, and their TE on the line, to help block on pass plays.  They still have a lot of talent with WRs but I think the Bills can limit their damage, particularly if they blitz from all different angles and with different players.  And the Bengals have injuries on D as well, maybe more than the Bills do.

    Overall, edge to Buffalo.

It is entirely possible and plausible that the Bills win on Sunday.  But it's also possible that they lose.  It should be a hell of a game.

If the Bills were 100% healthy, they are the most complete, best team in the league.  They are missing an All-Pro (2nd team) Safety in Hyde, All-Pro DE in Miller, and Jamison Crowder.  Jordan Phillips has been playing with one arm.  All-Pro Tre White is not 100% and would round out the top secondary in the league on a completely healthy Bills team.
