  1. Hello from the North Jersey Bills Backers!

The MNF season opener in NJ is quickly approaching and we wanted to provide an update on the weekend events.  To kick off the festivities, we will be hosting a pep rally at our new Bills Backer location in Glen Rock, NJ on Sunday, September 10th.  We are very excited to call The Stone & Rail home this season (http://stoneandrail.com/) . For those coming from out of town, the Stone & Rail is very easy to travel to and is located yards from the closest train station at 175 Rock Rd., Glen Rock, NJ 07452.  At 1:00 we start things off with a Labatt Blue keg tapping (this is a big deal at a bar that normally only carries craft varieties!)  There will be a special Bills themed menu and football on the multiple TVs.  We hope you can stop out for some great drinks, food, and Bills talk!

IT’S GAME TIME! On Monday, September 11th, we will be showing up at lot 26 as soon as it opens at 3:00.  If you are driving to the game, you will need to pre purchase a gold parking pass.  It is unclear based on the Jets website if you can purchase passes at the gate, but you can pre purchase your passes.   For those of you that have not had the good fortune of attending a Bills Tailgate at Metlife Stadium, it is not to be missed!  Bills fans take over the entire lot and make it their own.  This means great food & drink, games, impromptu shout song sing-alongs, and the greatest fans in the world.  We encourage anyone that wants to join our tailgate to bring a dish to share and whatever you plan on drinking.  There will be a few backers willing to grill items that require it.  If you are unable to bring something to share, we encourage a small donation to the chefs that have gone all out for this event.  You can speak to our Tailgate Chairman, Nader, or our President, Sid.  Both will be manning the grills.  You can locate our tailgate headquarters by the North New Jersey Bills Backers flag and the best food in the lot!

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.  I am happy to provide my email or cell number after speaking by PM.  You can also contact us through our FB page (Northern New Jersey Buffalo Bills Backers) or our website, https://www.njbillsbackers.com/

***Please comment below or send me a quick PM if you plan on going to the Stone & Rail on Sunday so we can provide a rough estimate to the owners***

We look forward to seeing everyone, and to a great Bills victory to start the 2023 season!

    GO BILLS!

Tell me again the trophy you earn for being the “best” run team? Oh that’s right. No one cares. Super Bowl or bust

Based on your posts, their are 31 teams every year that are "grossly mismanaged" because they didn't win the superbowl?  Brilliant logic.

Is anyone else thinking this team was grossly mismanaged by beane ?

The double down on Spencer brown with no depth or drafting (shell signing and retiring is a joke)

just saying yea Dion dawkins is the starter - giving no competition to that fat slug. The wing eating contest at practice thing during playoffs or end of season was a wtf moment. Go back and watch cincy playoff game. Dawkins was worse than spencer

everyone and their mother would have let an aging / battle injured safety just go in FA. But instead we sign him back. Poyer starts getting beat w speed more and more. Every kc game , and Mia game it’s glaring

everyone and their mother would not have extended Ed Oliver . My god he’s a liability on most plays.

The elam first round pick! Enough said. can’t get on the field

the investments both high draft picks and FA signings to the DL with poor return

It's no surprise that the team struggled to win last season and has failed to field a top offense and defense...Oh wait.

"Everyone and their mother" can see that the Bills are one of the best run teams in the league with sustained success over multiple seasons.

Do I hope that they can put the perfect run together and win it all?  Of course. But every year a few very good teams fail to win the superbowl.

Funny how that works, isn’t it?

Quite the double standard at times.

If you’re in agreement with the Bills decision making (on any topic), you’re a great poster. If you disagree, you’re an idiot.

Two posters can debate for several pages. The poster that defends the Bills is just posting. The poster deemed “negative” will be considered crusading.

  5. Mildly Interesting points:

-Von Miller listed as an edge starter. I wonder if this means there is legitimate optimism that he is ready for the opener? (I'm probably reading too much into that)

-Tim Settle over Poona Ford with Poona being a 3rd stinger.

-Boogie Basham in front of Shane Ray.

-Andy Isabella mired in the 4th string group. (perhaps not surprising at all)

-Ryan Bates in front of O'Cyrus Torrence

Pretty sure this is completely overblown and some intern put together a list of QBs drafted since 2013, and Cowherd was just popping off names and wasnt even thinking who Haskins is.

Huge mistake sure, but I doubt it was intentional.

Colin Cowherd will read anything that is put on that teleprompter. And when I say anything, I mean anything!

  7. I really don't get the pessimism.  This was a 13-3 team last season while dealing with multiple injuries to very important players, crazy weather, a teammate dying on the field, a first year OC, and huge expectations.  Their 3 losses were by a total of 8 points, including the most insanely improbable loss I've ever seen against the Vikings and a game in Miami that was decided by the heat and lack of shade on the Bills sideline.  The only significant player loss is Edmunds, and most people don't feel that he was a difference maker.  They improved the O line, drafted one of the best receiving TE prospects in years, and one of the top guards.  They added solid depth players/possible starters such as Leonard Floyd, Poona Ford, Damien Harris, Trent Sherfield, and Latavius Murray.

I welcome the fact that the media is overlooking this team.  Most of them have realized that pissing off Bills fans equals clicks and attention and they are really just click whores anyway.

If you were watching the games, you probably saw the same concerning trend that I did. The big offensive games came early in the year when we were nearly unstoppable and blowing teams out. Later in the year we were FAR less special.

Stats are nice, but should be taken in context. We were not the same team later in the season. There could be any number of reasons for that, including the UCL injury Josh sustained. I’d bet quite a few here think I’m an impossible optimist, but I try to see the big picture while never getting too high or too low.

If someone would have told me 6 years ago that Bills fans would be complaining about the OC after a 13-3 season where the team had the second best offense in the league, I would have never believed it. Ridiculous.

….and the season trend was not a good one over the course of the season and playoffs. I’m a glass half full guy, but I’m not sure about what to expect for the upcoming season.

How can you possibly be a glass half full guy while complaining about an offense that was second in points per game and yards per game?!

They had the same offense they had in 2021, and it wasn't Dorsey's offense.   I didn't see a lot of Dorsey in the 2022 offense; it seemed like the offense just was an extension of the previous season.   So, I don't see how that means he's one of the 10 best coordinators.  As I said, a lot of people could have stepped into that job last season and gotten the same performance out of the offense.

They were #2 in yards per game and points per game in the entire league. What would Dorsey have had to accomplish to get some credit from you?

Well, yeah, I would be top 10, too, if I inherited Daboll's offense and I had Josh.  I'm far from convinced that Dorsey should be anywhere near the top of this list.   There's not enough evidence that he should be on it at all.

This off-season noise is really a joke.

You mean other than the fact that the Bills had one of the best offenses in the NFL last year?

  12. Years of living in the North Jersey/NYC area have made me a very angry driver.  If it is an exit or a toll booth with a long line of cars and some douche tries to cut in at the last second, I will not let them in under any circumstances.  As idiotic as it is, I would probably let them run into me instead of letting them skip the entire line.  I have had many close calls where the offender just expects everyone to move out of their way.

*I say to myself weekly, it would be so much better for my blood pressure and anxiety if I just didn't let idiot drivers get to me.  I just can't be the blissfully oblivious driver.

This guy is at least 30-40 pounds blubber beyond his true weight.  I guess they want them to do that these days, but he is just so overinflated with fat...I preferred the league when OLmen were just as athletic as everyone else on the field.

They might have only been 285, but it was a super strong, solid, lean,285 and they were still the biggest strongest guys on the field.

Very few of these guys are TRUE 340 pound monsters, though those guys do come along now and again.

If lean 285 lb linemen were better than 320 lb guys with some blubber, the league would be filled with 285 lb linemen.

You know, I initially thought otherwise but when I looked up their stats, they were much closer than I thought.

    Mario Williams (11 Seasons):

    97.5 sacks

    399 combined tackles

    16 forced fumbles

    Aaron Schobel (9 seasons):

    78 sacks

    483 combined tackles

    21 forced fumbles

Aaron Schobel is wildly underrated by most fans.  Maybe it was his personality?  If he wore red contacts, had a sack dance,  and talked more crap, he would have been much more popular.

  15. I saw the intro on Netflix.  I didn't think it was possible for Mahomes' wife to get more annoying, but there she is crushing it.  I get why she hung around Jackson Mahomes so much.  She needed someone close by that was somehow even more unlikable than her.
