  1. http://www.nytimes.com/2006/02/14/business...artner=homepage "WASHINGTON, Feb. 13 — The federal government is on the verge of one of the biggest giveaways of oil and gas in American history, worth an estimated $7 billion over five years. New projections, buried in the Interior Department's just-published budget plan, anticipate that the government will let companies pump about $65 billion worth of oil and natural gas from federal territory over the next five years without paying any royalties to the government." And to think it can't get any worse, this Administration's idiocy is unbelievable.
  2. Yep, no kidding, can you say Iran. Fox News had someone on last night talking about plans to selectively bomb Iran, the only true Democracy in the entire region. Granted a right wing Muslim one, still ironic isn't it.
  3. Fine, then lets get it straight, Halliburton, KBR and all the rest the former Cheney led, still uninvested in, subsidairies are ripping off the American Tax Payers in Iraq, while supplying substandard services for exhorbitant prices. Why the justice dept is not investigating them is cynically obvious or at least JAG. But this is dispicable even by your hateful standards. Now they are repeating the cycle in New Orleans, check out the last fraud reports down there. So get a grip, it is not a liberal thing, it is a competence thing you boob! New Orleans and Halliburton is just more fodder for us lefties because as you rightwingers are so good at it is a symbol for all the imcompetence in this administration. A gift that seems to just keep giving.
  4. Actually the news part is that according to the NYTIMES, the U.S. and Israel are considering "U.S. and Israelis Are Said to Talk of Hamas Ouster" Now that is News!
  5. Yep, a guy like Cheney, a few stiff ones relaxes you so you can shoot without shaking, looks like he relax too much and forgot his friend was retrieving a quail he previously shot like a good old errand boy.
  6. And then there was that! 24 hours later even! So like they thought about it.
  7. At this point, I am inclined to agree, as long as it is timed with a visit by Al Gore and the Bush Team, through Kerry in there for kicks too.
  8. Oh please, this is non-news that has been widely reported. Even CNN and Fox had it, not known for the breaking news capability unless there is a plane crash. Actually, NYTIMES was late on the switch too, probably does your heart some good.
  9. HB does get involved, read hearing transcripts from the Senate on the issue. Additionally, Lobbyists from both sure do and work DC really well, not that they had to, good excuse for a hunting trip though.
  10. Jeez, here we go again, they are the same company! Idiot.
  11. Especially when you are dealing with a 78 year old friend and 65 plus guy who has a !@#$ you attitude and an itchy ..... finger.
  12. Ditto, even when I am wrong, ill informed or mistaken!
  13. Because he earlier stated that we should ID another company accused of accepting nobid contracts other than Halliburton. He named KBR as an example...at least that is what I understood what he used as an example. Duh, KBR is not another company, so what was the point other than to confuse?
  14. Got out when I had a son, somehow Washington B.S. just didn't seem that important, moved to an area where 82% of my property taxes go to the public schools and it still costs less than a third of a good private school per year. Heckuv an investment and I got 4.5 acres, a pool, hot tub and 4800 sq feet to boot. Not bad after selling 1700 sq ft .16 acre lot flooded a year earlier by Hurricane Isabel, and a 1100 sq ft condo. Had money left over.
  15. Couldn't you tell, my login is a great quote from my sworn enemy Tom Delay when asked about compromising with moderate Democrats and Republicans. I forget the exact context, but it was along those lines. "The only thing in the middle of the road are yellow lines and dead armadillos." P.S. You can always tell when McCain is about to lose it, his face becomes red and puffy and every scar in his face, head and neck stands out because they remain pale. I have a friend who worked for him and is a devote Republican, who will do everything in his power to make sure he doesn't become President. Not good when former employees hate you.
  16. Nope, done, had his chance, one and done in this business, nice try though. You guys going try flash back McCain?
  17. Give him time, actually, I think McCain is more likely to do something like that on purpose because his famous temper, but I understand Dean has a good one too.
  18. Sorry about the insult, just thought this crowd worked that way, but you are right the arguement, it is inane and it does devide us unfortunately. Not much else to say except the last paragraph is likely a pipe dream and the best we can hope for is that we don't shoot, hang, decapitate, etc., each other as in the middle-east for being of the wrong ethnic background or religion as a result. Peace Out
  19. Nah, but nice to try to state another company was accused of abuses.
  20. Yeh but, he with the most stuff at the end still dies.
  21. I know! Pretty pathetic, but look who we nominated to compete, and we let them get away with downing our most competitive candidate Howard Deanon a non-issue, his goofy scream, now there is a non-issue. I don't always agree with him, but at least he would go down swinging. Our spineless leaders didn't call the GOP attack machine on their B.S. because Dean scared them by his agressiveness. Don't rock the boat he might cause us to lose an election. Wake up, we already have lost.
  22. Yeh it is a non-issue, but so much more fun and a classic example of GOP buffoonery, a metaphor if you like for the way they are running this country, even when I agree with their intended actions.
  23. B.S. KBR is a Halliburton subsidary, same difference, it is the classic GOP renaming game that has folks confused.
  24. Granted, but DOD probably has the best tools to do so and the Army Corp did an incredible job rebuilding quickly the causeways leading into New Orleans, maybe they should get the whole job. As long as Haliburton is not a subcontrator.
  25. P.S. Pardon the Interruption is going to do a segment on Cheney's gunnery skills. Check it out right now. Wilbon and Kornheiser, even Jim Rome piled on this afternoon, who needs the comedians.
