  1. Bottom line is that Holcumb gives us the best chance to win a lot of games this season. And by a lot i mean probably somewhere in the vacinity of 6-8 games. Losman has more upside, there is no question about it and hopefully he works out. The question you have to ask yourself is this... Would you rather sit on the dock and catch sun fish all day because it is the quickest and easiest way to catch a couple small fish, or would you get in the boat and take a long trip out to the middle of the lake to catch the big fish? If Holcumb does succeed in this preseason game he will have some great tape to show front offices around the league.
  2. 1st team: Angelo Crowell 2nd team: Andre Davis 3rd team: Sam Aiken or George Wilson
  3. It can also mean Pitas. Very warm pitas.
  4. I think that is a new record people, it took 34 posts before someone mentioned Coy Wire as being a serious cancer on this team.
  5. The real question in judging how good the Madden ratings are is how good did they make Ron Mexico? If he is one of the best in the game, then they are lacking and are only buying into Donahoe-eske propaganda machines.
  6. I wouldn't go as far as to say Moulds was the cancer of our team seeing as there is still some doubt of how our offense will produce. I think the real cancer of the Bills 2005 team was Trey Teague.

  8. If half of your fan base is routing for him, you can't cut him. There would be an outrage. Instead make his departure spur from an accident. Once again i must commend you on your outlook on the current situation.
  9. I just checked my magic eightball and it is laughing at my question about your speculation or if you wish to call it an observation.
  10. Do you call going on Conan O'Brien's show just a few days before the draft and saying "I am going to have to get used to losing if i go to Houston" a mistake? It's all part of Reggie's secret evil plot. It's so evil even the casual observer is left doing nothing but scratching their head, not because it itches either.
  11. Now this is the kind of brilliance i expect from this board. God dammit, i think you hit it right on the head.
  12. The number of games JP Losman will play before some people on this board declare him a bust?
  13. They have Whitner listed at 5'11". They are lying to you. Have you seen him in person? I'm 6'2" and this guy is probably coming up to my chin on his tip toes.
  14. Dick Jauron's senority comments could have been taken either way. Losman holds the senority on the team while Holcumb holds league senority. Just a strange way of looking at it offered up by someone who has been up for 48 hours.
  15. The receivers on the roster will be something like this... Evans Price Parrish Reed Aiken Davis Wilson (PS) Nance (PS) In all proabability it will in fact be Fast Fred that gets cut mainly due to the fact that he is a little under sized and we drafted a punt returner in Parrish. He is an affectice player on the field and i would not be surprised if a team like New England picks him up after the Bills cut him.
  16. Guys named Guy. Does anyone else back me on this matter.
  17. I'm not 100% sure if you can place blame on Mularkey anymore. THERE! I SAID IT. The main reasoning here is that i think Mularkey is a compitent coach and i believe that - if we get into the administrative and coaching debate - as a coach you ask for certain needs to be filled via the draft and free agency. I don't think that you can place blame on Mularkey mainly because i don't think he was given the guys he needed to run his system. For example, i think this is clear in terms of McNally and the offensive line. I think McNally said "get me some guys and let me work with them". Well, Donahoe then turns to the draft and gives him someone like Mike Williams. Is that McNally's fault, no. It is in no way a reflection of someone's coaching technique or their ability as a coach. Instead the blame should fall on the front office. There is no comment for Tom Clements' terrible play calling.
  18. I know there is no true answer here but i find it fun and sometimes interesting to designate a certain player with most of the blame for our losses. I know it is not right to point out any one individual to take the blame for the Bills' record last year, but what player on the starting or rotating roster do you believe contributed the most to Buffalo's struggles?
  19. Wire blows. He's going to be cut. Whitner will eventually get the starting job but i don't think his size enable him to play with tall receivers or tight ends.
  20. I think that its all part of the plan. First off, as people have mentioned many times before, the Panthers Defense is one of the best in the league. It doesn't make sense to have JP's confidence shot like Josh Reed's was against the Patriots. Hold the kid back and let him gain some confidence in his receivers. Also, there is something that you guys are ignoring and that is that first string in pre season never gets the same amount of time as the second string. So not only will Losman be playing less talented players; but he will also be playing for a longer period of time. Thus this enables him to feel comfortable in trying to create a play in a quarter or half, as opposed to playing him for three posessions, in an attempt to win the starting job. When you limit how much time the individual has to win something, they are going to get desperate, and i think DJ is trying to calm him down and not put him under the pressure of trying to win the starting job in less time than he needs.
  21. The young team thing is nice if there are individuals on that team that are willing to step up and accept the leadership role, and i don't see that happening on the Bills. Nate Celemts wants to leave after this season, i don't see too many people following Nate Clements with his words of brilliance and intelligence to the point where he is the leader on this team. Not only that it will only be a one year deal, and i don't think he even wants to adopt any kind of leadership role. Aaron Schobel is a good pass rushing end and could be a great player for the Bills throughout his career, but the fact of the matter is that there have been few d-linemen who have had legitamate leadership roles. Those exceptions are Bruce Smith, Reggie White, and probably Deacon Jones. Schobel is not in any arena with those individuals and likely is not the person to do it. Brian Moorman: As much as i love what he does on the field i don't think that you can have a punter be the leader on your team. I actually believe that the Bills are the only team that make a jersey for their punter. Willis McGahee. Anybody looking for leadership from McGahee should just walk in front of one of the shuttle buses at St. John Fisher right now. Yes the guy has the potential to be a major offensive threat, but a leader is one who steps up and does things like motivates in the locker room and also talks to the media when the team is struggling. When i think of Willis talking to the media i am more reminded of the Budweiser commercials that star Leon rather than being reminded of people like Emmitt Smith. Whitner, undersized as he is, runs around the defensive backfield like he is in pop warner. He can't read anything in the offense and often gets beat by tight ends and larger wide outs. A rookie is not going to step up and take the leadership role on your team.
  22. Price doesn't count because he left for a few years. But this is very creepy that the longest tenured players are in fact Nate Clements and Aaron Schobel. Usually you look for a lot of leadership to come from your longest tenured player, and i don't see a lot of people following Nate into a firestorm or even following the inaffective run stopping of Aaron Schobel. Dark times Bills fans, dark times.
  23. I was discussing this today on the way to St. John Fisher?
