In the games the Bills lose, they do about 20 inexplicable boneheaded things, whether it's players or coaches. If any one of those screwups did not get screwed up, they'd win the game. But somehow, if you do every single little screw up exactly when you need to screw it up. you end up losing the game, barely.

Just like that missed tackle from Milano.

Here in Canada, they have the former Hawks TE Luke Wilson cover the Bills.  And he has said since Week 1 the Bills are the best team in football ON PAPER, but they make so many mistakes that makes games closer than they need to be.  They beat themselves.  That's not a Super Bowl-calibre team.

Well, much like Odell's knee I'm torn on this.

On the one hand you can never have too many playmakers. If the knee is up to snuff than he makes the offense better. I have no qualms about his attitude because it seems like everyone not named Baker Mayfield that has played with him absolutely loves him. And Baker is a tool, so I'll discount his feelings square away. Actually, for me it's the opposite and I feel like he would fit in extremely well with the cast of characters we already have in the locker room.

On the negative side I feel like this roster that we have is good enough to compete for and win a Super Bowl already. Adding Odell would shift the focus to it being all him that put us over the top if we do win it all. Also, barring an injury to the WR room I just don't see where it makes sense to add him. If we do sign him...who gets the boot? Diggs and Davis are locks. With how many GMs reportedly liked Shakir I can't see Beane subjecting him to waivers and losing him for the future for a few games of OBJ. Kumerow is of value in multiple spots as is McKenzie as a slot/gadget/returner. Odell only plays WR, and not sure they want 3 WRs that only contribute to offense.

My gut feeling is that unless there is another injury to the WR room they roll with what they have being that they added a potential playmaker at the trade deadline in Hines and Odell heads in another directinon. (My top 3 guesses are Minnesota, Philly and San Francisco in that order)

Fair points...but when he joined the Rams last year, he didn't seem to draw too much attention to himself.  He played his role and helped them get a ring.

Exactly. Like the bills before Allen got his money would have locked up Poyer and Edmunds last year. Now, it’s a much tougher discussion.

personally, I think qb Shouldn’t count against your cap. But they should be guaranteed contracts that hurt you if you make a bad investment.

Fair. Nfl reported contracts are very misleading though. There’s a ton of language in there where he is not probably going to get all that money and it will be restructured one day.

I have been saying this for years...to find a franchise QB is extremely difficult.  You draft one, he comes a superstar and needs to be paid like one, and then that handicaps the ability to build the rest of the team.  I think if the rule was even "if you draft a QB, he doesn't count against the cap" would go a long way in making the game better.

    Can they do that?

Depends on the severity of the concussion.  Some concussions you're ordered to not do absolutely anything but rest in a dark room.  But his may be of the "don't physically exert yourself" prescription and a podcast certainly isn't physically demanding.

if he is so elite, how come teams don't have him lined up for when he is over his injury? we dont need OBJ

I mean, it's been reported that there are five teams interested in him (including the Packers and Patriots) with the Rams being the frontrunner.  He proved last year that he can come in as an effective mercenary and not rock the boat on an established team.

If by the time he's healthy we still have the same injury issues at WR, the team would be stupid to not reach out to him and gage his interest.

  6. Cook looks like he let that first carry fumble really get to him and his confidence seems really shot as a result.  He needs to know the coaching staff can trust him even if he makes a mistake.  Benching him immediately after that fumble was a poor coaching move.  Look at what Josh does if a receiver drops a ball.  He doesn't ice them out, he goes right back to them and when they make the catch, he runs right over and pumps the dude up.
