I have been to a lot of NFL stadiums for games and I can honestly and sadly say that the games I have been to at the Ralph are the most unfriendly I have encountered. For example, I witnessed two fans in their 40's harrassing a 6 year old kid for wearing a Jaguars shirt to a game, etc... There is no way I would bring my child to a Bills game. It's sad when I have to tell people that the most unfriendly atmosphere I have been to is my own team's.

Mike Shanahan simply brought in over-priced veterans into Washington, made his son the OC, and has been involved in a much too publicized exchange with Albert Haynesworth. All that to say, I'm glad we didn't bring him to the B-LO. His veterans won't last the year healthy- see Larry Johnson, nepotism will kill him if the offense doesn't click- never hire someone you can't fire, and the Haynesworth drama has already made Shanahan look like a poor leader. All that being said, I'm glad we hired Gailey.

I'll admit I'm biased against Big Ben. Someone I know is good friends with the girl that was raped by Big Ben. They decided not to go to court due to the extreme publicity that the case would bring. I'm fairly certain that Big Ben did it; however, it never went to trial.

Just heard that Big Ben will probably only miss 4 games this year. HUH? Compare Mike Vick's suspension to Ben R's suspension. When you do the comparison something doesn't add up. Big Ben should have been suspended from the league for at least a year, or maybe more. There is no excuse for rape or killing dogs. Both men should be out of the league. Your thoughts?

I know it's only a preseason game, but our starters hung in there with the starters from the defending AFC champion Colts. After the game, I realized what I had just witnessed - the beginning of something special. We have a good team this year! Enjoy the ride fellow fans. It's going to be a fun year.

Too bad for Holt. I didn't know Adams had signed. I guess that leaves Snead.

We need a QB that can run. Too bad Fred Jackson hurt his hand. I wanted to see him run the WILDCAT formation every play of the game. I still remember the touchdown he threw to Evans last season against Tennessee. We need a running QB that can get the heck out of dodge everytime the OL lets them through.

I still have a soft spot in my heart for Tory Woodbury, our practice squad QB from a few years back. That guy had potential and never got the opportunity to shine in the B-LO. Anyone know what he's doing now? I was hoping he'd catch on in the Candadian Football League.

There is plenty of Edwards bashing that goes on daily on this board. However, I go back to Bill Walsh. Walsh drafted some of the greatest players this league has ever known and he endorsed our very own Trent Edwards. In the end, I feel Bill Walsh will be right once again. Go Edwards and Go BILLS!

I keep wondering if this is the last year of Bills football. Our owner could go at any minute, there will be a lockout in 2011, the lease situation regarding our stadium is still hazy, etc... Please convince me that this isn't the last year of Bills football.

I was thrilled that Spielman was inducted into the college hall of fame this past weekend. I am also thankful that he wore our team's uniform during his playing days. He is a class act on and off the field. Before his wife died of cancer, he shaved the hair off of his head because his wife had lost hers. A great husband, a great football player, and a great man. I wish the media would focus more of their attention on athletes like this one, instead of so many others that aren't worth our time. Congrats to Chris Spielman on the college hall of fame!!!! God bless you.

I was flipping channels a few minutes ago and saw the ESPY's countdown. What a joke!!! The best NBA team goes to the Lakers. The best women's basketball team goes to UCONN. We know the winners already - no need for a show. For years, I have laughed at the fact that ESPN does an awards show. I guess TBS, TNT, or discovery channel need to do award shows. I hope no one on this board watches the ESPY's. The only thing that would make it watchable is if Kobiyashi (from the hot dog eating contest) tried to crash the show. Or, if they did a live interview with OJ from jail. Or, if USC had a session during the show teaching small colleges how to pay its football players.

Watching the coverage of Steinbrenner's legacy, it got me thinking about how the media will cover the passing of Ralph Wilson one day. I'm not trying to be morbid, I'm just curious as to how the media will portray Ralph. I think he'll be remembered as one of the founders of the AFL. Steinbrenner was a dictator that spent huge sums of money on free agents to make the Yankees the most competitive team every year. However, I get the sense that he was hard to work for. With Ralph, I think he'll be remembered as easy to work for and loyal to his former players, front office staff, etc... However, he doesn't spend like George did and I feel a lot of fans, local sports writers, etc. question his committment to winning. All that to say, how do you think Ralph will be remembered?
