  1. and what if i do? They stay up all night long!
  2. Now THERE is a BS narrative!
  3. A tragedy, eh? Yet, people are ripping the country apart at the seams over a narrative fueled by ONE criminal cop? The idea that inner city communities, and leaders of those communities, might be the actual ones responsible for black lives not mattering isn’t a “BS narrative”, Bub.
  4. Perfectly put, on all accounts.
  5. Thanks for clarifying that point. It doesn’t change anything else about what I said though.
  6. This is exactly right. I’ve spent most of my career in DUI Enforcement and this is always an issue with drunks and hit and runs. I’ve heard “experts” talking about just letting him go, or even just calling him an Uber and not even investigating the crime. One pundit said “that’s what a cop with a heart would do”...as if a cop that cares about getting drunks off of the street to protect innocent motorists is a heartless robot. These people are absolutely ridiculous. These are not viable strategies. Hindsight being 20/20, they probably should have tased him at the outset of the struggle, and that might have worked to get him in custody. On the video you can hear one of the officers repeatedly threatening to tase him. I’m not trying to Monday morning qb, because I’ve been there - repeatedly threatening to tase someone to gain compliance, but I actually preferred to not tase them because I know it hurts like a biatch. I learned that lesson the hard way. Stop saying it, and freaking do it! Or, maybe he was kicking the weapon away from Brooks’ hand?
  7. It appears he fired it once, on video. Which is nearly contemporaneous with the shots being fired. Also, the taser does not suddenly become a paperweight when the cartridges have been deployed. It is still a weapon and can be used in direct contact with skin. Your comment about shooting an unarmed man in the back is completely disingenuous, and only serves to add fuel to the fire. He was a violent fleeing felon with a weapon in his hand that had showed the willingness to use it against police officers. And you parrot the solution that is being offered by ignorant idiots with an agenda as a viable one? No sir. Cops will not just those guys go. Brooks made every single decision, or forced every decision by his actions, that night that led to his death. Take the L, fight it in court.
  8. The Counties and State have told the mayor to pound sand, from what I understand. Also, I think you have a misguided viewpoint on the compensation that police officers receive for their work. Most can’t retire young, and have to rely on working tons of hours of off duty work to make ends meet and provide for their families. Unarmed?? ALF...seriously?
  9. I guess you weren’t paying attention when this had been discussed earlier? Here’s the Cliffs Notes: it’s a massive pile of horseshit. But, it’s his opinion so he’s entitled to have it. Doesn’t make it fact. You seem to have trouble with the difference between opinion and fact.
  10. He was shot to death for sleeping at a Wendy’s, eh? Your goal to stir the pot has been well noted. You are wrong, and completely ignorant on all things law related. Keep shouting your idiocy from the rooftops in some dungeon of a message board if that’s what makes you feel better. If you truly feel that there is injustice that’s been done, maybe you can actually take some tangible steps toward learning. I might suggest reading up on Graham v. Connor as a starting point. I doubt this is the route you will take, however. You are too engrained in your “perspective” to open your eyes to the other realities that exist.
  11. Wait... so the incendiary one line headline posted by someone with an agenda isn’t the whole story?! I’m shocked..SHOCKED!
  12. Lol. Violently arrested? Please.
  13. Yeah, and the officer has already been fired before the investigation has barely started. Absolutely ridiculous.
  14. Nothings gonna change. Some windbag politicians will shuffle stuff around and make it look like they did something.. but when the dust clears, there will still be the same cops on the street (good).
  15. Not true. The average length of training, according to the Department of Justice is 840 hours. That is just academy training, and doesn’t include field training which generally takes 8 to 10 more weeks. Cops are forced to train certain numbers of hours each additional year to maintain certification, as well. With that said, training can ALWAYS be better. Your numbers are just wrong. Not sure if they were taken from Podunk, Arkansas training manual or what. https://www.bjs.gov/content/pub/pdf/slleta13.pdf
  16. This is the “platform” that so many athletes speak about. I understand that. Btw, I’m glad it’s not that way for you. We may (or may not) have differing viewpoints, but as long as your viewpoint is yours, based on your own thought and experience, I can totally respect it. It’s those that blindly follow others that are real drain on society.
  17. Well, that’s a sad indictment on those that are more impacted by the opinion of a public figure and need that to formulate or justify their own perspective.
  18. Josh has a right to his opinion. Just like I have a right to mine, you yours, and the cops theirs. Him being an athlete doesn’t make his opinion any more important than anyone else’s.
  19. lol my bad..I have a bad habit of skipping over your posts.
  20. Weird that he hasn’t responded to this.
