  1. It is probably a good day for you to visit Champs on St Laurent! Maybe a pregame meal of $2 chow mein from Parfum d'Asie at des Pins and St-Laurent? Or $2 death as some like to call it! Joyeux Noël!
  2. One can easily get to Cleveland (approximately 126 miles) and Cinci ( approximately 107 miles) from Columbus in less than three hours. To get from Toronto to Buffalo is a major hassle on most any day because of the line at the bridges. It used to take two hours. The increased questioning and security is a major deterrent to coming across from Canada for Bills games or any other reason. It is a similar hassle to come across by foot, bike or motor vehicle from Tijuana, Mexico to San Diego. And when you consider all the traffic for last minute Christmas shopping, border crossing from Canada and Mexico to the U.S. is avoided this weekend by many. BTW, even though San Diego is considered the seventh largest city in the U. S., it is still called a small market. Go figure! Anybody from Toronto have anything to add?
  3. The Sabres seem to be panicking with the puck. Montreal likes to stand up to the rush at their blue line. The Sabres were skating straight to them as if they didn't know how to circle wide to take it deep or drop a pass back to a follower. There was also panic with the breakouts. The Sabres have been used to certain skating lanes but the Habs among others have sealed off those options. The obvious thing to do is to create new lanes with the open ice that is available. New creativity is needed on the power play also. The Sabres have been getting attacked with aggressive defense. So draw the defender in and pass to the opening. I know it isn't that easy but like football you must adjust. Montreal is a sound team. I sense that the NHL in general is tightening up again but without as much of the clutching bs. My condolences also to the Gainey family. Peace.
  4. I can stomach a meaningful win over the Pats. Damn sick of them. Time to go back down to the cellar. A game against the Chargers concerns me. The improvements are no fluke. Losman and the defense are playing solid. I would like more production from the running game. Remember that Patriots game when the refs gave the pats an extra down? I think they also dramatically screwed up on a mark in the same game that eventually led to the Pats winning the game. Then the tuck game. The Pats certainly aren't all about luck but they have had their share. It is time for them to go away. But I am getting ahead of the ball. A lot has to happen for the Bills to make it into the playoffs. It would be a nice payoff for the turnaround! Let the planets align!
  5. I remember Tim Horton kicking the beignes out of Dave Shultz. I recommend les Crème Bostons (Boston Cream) and les Rousettes (Crullers). Before expansion to the U.S., stopping at the Tim Horton's in Fort Erie was part of our family routine when visiting my grandfather. I believe it was on Garrison Road. 6. If you don't show up to the stadium, don't you get a 0.0? He should've filed for an incomplete or something. It's too late for Freshman Forgiveness. He deserved some towel whipping in the locker room. Wasn't there talk about the Bills drafting him way back when?
  7. Holy number crunchers Batman. What are you a wizard? Where did you get all this? MIT homework assignment? I can't help but think of a couple of years back when the Bills no showed against the Steelers' third teamers. It is a different team with a lot of young players on the rise. Take it to them Bills!
  8. I guess what made it current is that Spellman is into extreme fighting having won his first fight last month. http://www.mmafighting.com/results/2006/xfo_13.html
  9. That is funny stuff. Courageous and lucky! You are lucky you didn't get the same treatment that was doled out to that Pats fan at the Ralph. That was the best win of the season!
  10. I was in the gym yesterday when one of the stations (ESPN?) was doing a story about former Buckeye and Bear Alonzo Spellman. Scary story. http://apse.dallasnews.com/contest/2003/wr...ory.second.html
  11. San Diego County is known to be very conservative and Orange County even more so. The further north you go, left coast has a different meaning! Finey, Boxy, Pelosocity... As for the celebs spouting their views, they have as much right us we do to babble and bloggle. And we have a right to reject those views whatever they may be. Independent thought works well!
  12. All of them? Somebody get 'em.
  13. Too left. Ain't gonna happen. Publicity or no publicity!
  14. LT has been a major score... http://www.signonsandiego.com/uniontrib/20...13sullivan.html
  15. Just as when Buffalo lost it's NBA team, the Buffalo Braves, back in the late 70's, I would be done with the NFL. Done.
  16. That scary dude in the movie Ghost who haunts out on the subway car. "Get off my train! It's my train!"
  17. This writer has been around for a long time. He has some interesting takes on AFL history. http://www.signonsandiego.com/sports/nfl/m...-1s3nflcol.html
  18. There were a few questionable calls involving interference and a receiver being knocked out of bounds but the San Diego Union-Tribune makes no mention of this: http://www.signonsandiego.com/sports/chargers/index.html
  19. The 1971 defense was pretty bad. They thought three and out was a show tune. The Bills are improving, they have adjusted but they are still an inconsistent, mediocre team that will not be in the playoffs. Again.
  20. The Jets drafted some earth movers in Ferguson and Mangold. Both the Bills and the Jets are on the way up but the Jets are further ahead in large part because of their offensive line. Address the lines and the Bills skill players could show better results. After Pennington's injury, it is amazing that he is playing at all.
  21. It is no secret that both teams have a target on them and that L.A. is drooling to avoid expansion fees and instead swipe some other team. I agree with your take on Ralph. It is after Ralph that I am very concerned about. If it could happen to Cleveland it could happen to Buffalo or San Diego. The Spanos family has a long term chain of command in place. The Spanos' seem to want to stay by either going south to Chula Vista or National City or waiting out the City of San Diego's money mess. The Bills have the unknown. It is very important for both fan bases to make clear that they want to keep their teams. I think L.A. should go through the expansion route along with San Antonio.
  22. The Chargers will stay in San Diego County. San Diego has the seventh largest population in the country. And they have been selling out their games. Bills fans get your in the stadium if you want to keep your football team in the future. Once the speculation starts that because of WNY demographics and inadequate fan support the team will leave, the shock lessens and the rich will have their way by moving. Control what you can now. Get to the games and support the Bills!
  23. People don't want to pay for tickets in the expectation that the Bills will get routed. But the team needs the noise on their behalf. It matters. Buffalo fans know their role. Get in there and do your part. If you live nearby, have the free time and the cash, get in there. No Excuses!
  24. The result was unfortunate.
