  1. Thanks, I'm going to have to look into these. I've never been to South America, but I've always heard that between the poverty level and drug use, most of the countries are not very safe for anyone that sticks out in the crowd. I'm sure that's an over generalization though, so I'll have to study up! Edit: Wow....Bolivia sounds pretty awesome!
  2. Thanks for the info so far! Definitely seems like the Central America area is the way to go. From the little I've looked up so far, I'd say Costa Rica, Belize, and Honduras, in that order. Belize seems like the nicest, but slightly on the pricey side. If I could swing another 500 a month, it would be my choice. Kind of interesting to think about, especially since I've never been past about 100 mi south of the mexican border. Think I might look down that way for my next vacation! Maybe Roatan, Honduras....looks pretty awesome.
  3. I've been to Poland and looked up Hungary, both are too expensive for what I'm looking for. You can visit on the cheap, but I couldn't (wouldn't want to) live that style. Don't know about Romania yet. Thanks.
  4. I'm not making any plans or anything, but started looking around for different countries to retire to if I so desired. I'm looking for places with cheap cost of living (something like a very comfortable life for about 1300 - 1500 a month), relatively safe (relative to other countries, not so much the US), and not on the other side of the planet (I've been to Thailand, Philippines, Singapore and know how cheap and fun they can be...but don't want to be that far away). I've looked at Honduras and was just recommended Costa Rica, so I'll check that out. Any others? Personal experience in any countries?

  6. You mean outside of the current Meyer system NFL starter that doesn't have HALF the talent as Tebow?
  7. 1. So far, Tebow has not shown even a glimmer of being an NFL QB. They have a running game in FL now and are supposed to use him more in the passing game, so that MAY change, but there's nothing in his history to show that it will. He's a great college QB (both rushing and passing [he is not a horrible passer for the college game, anyone who has seen him play or looked at his stats has seen that...no matter what the morons want to say]), but he's not NFL material. 2. I don't think he will be in next years draft.
  8. I agree.
  9. This is how I feel. I hate it when people say "If your old enough to die for your country..." It's especially true since a lot of those guys get stationed overseas, where they are allowed to drink anyway. Only in the actual country they are fighting for are they prohibited from drinking.
  10. And for the record, the NOA that he was talking about was what was being responded to by FSU....the report that was referenced in your link. What he was saying was that due to updated NOA they received from the NCAA, they would be writing up a new report, which would include new recommendations for punitive actions.
  11. This includes you, yes? I made quite an effort in my post to draw attention to the fact that it was JUST a MB post, and to take that for what is was worth to you. I never asked anyone to believe something I couldn't substantiate. Uhh....outside of "a few", that's pretty much exactly what the post said. And the official wording in the post was 2-10, so a few could be accurate. The remarks about hurting their recruiting were mine, and yes I think with the competitive nature of recruiting, being a team down a few scholarships and on probation will hurt them. It's not as if they are in the top 10 rankings as it is. Death penalty? No one, at least in this thread or the threads I've read on other forums, have mentioned anything about this being the death call of FSU. Just that it's going to hurt. And for all the negativity about gator fans you spew, you are FAR worse than most gator fans I know. If this were happening in Gainesville, you'd be talking about the death of the school, not to mention the team.
  12. It's a commercial. Everything was probably sterilized to beyond sanitary before she did her thing. As far as marketing strategy....people are obviously watching it.
  13. Not exactly sticking her foot in her mouth. If she had said we ARE going to kick some Russian butt...maybe. But I HOPE we do? That's just talk, not trash talk.
  14. I almost always like Jack Black in supporting roles. It's when he is the main character that his act just ruins the movie. I pretty much HATE Ben Stiller, but as long as the rest of the cast is okay I'll probably take a chance on the movie.
  15. Only one on that list I didn't like is Jackie Brown. Like others have said, I know what to expect when I see a QT movie, and I like that kind of thing.
  16. Below is a post from a Gators message board I belong to. Yes, it's just a message board post, but they guy who posted it has been on top of this whole situation since it started. There are seminole fans who troll the board, and every time he updates they come out and call him a liar for any number of reasons. Every single time, he's been right. I guess what I"m saying is while I fully trust the source, it IS just a message board rumor, so take it how you want. (It's a pay site, so no direct link. Gatorcountry.com) Article explaining a bit about what happened He said later that he predicts (not from any concrete information, just the personal opinion of someone who has been paying attention the details of the situation) it will be 6 or 7 scholarships for 3 years. This could mean really bad things for FSU for a while. Besides the scholarships, it will be tough to get those borderline players who will be worried about the school being behind the 8 ball.

  19. I'm no expert in this area, but it sounds more like some spyware type stuff screwing with you. As far as the arrows, I've got them on 3.0....maybe you have to update your theme?
  20. Hell, it annoys me.
  21. I think it was kind of obvious I meant in addition to their tuition. You don't agree...we get it.
  22. Of course they are.
  23. He has a full time job. A job that he's required to show up to and put extra hours in if he wants to stay in school. Playing football while going to school isn't all sunshine and roses. Personally, I think players should receive an average wage for the time they put in on the team. Nothing ridiculous, just basic wages that can be found from campus jobs. That would at least give them some money to live on while they pull in those millions for the schools. But none of that excuses the kid from not paying his rent....but really, that's just the stupidity of youth.
  24. No! He's good cause he waved to someone!
