  1. Sept. 11 Houston 1:00 win Sept. 18 @ Tampa Bay 1:00 lose Sept. 25 Atlanta 1:00 win Oct. 2 @ New Orleans 1:00 win Oct. 9 Miami 1:00 win Oct. 16 NY Jets 4:15 win Oct. 23 @ Oakland 4:15 win Oct. 30 @ New England 8:30 lose Nov. 6 Bye 6-2 at the break Nov. 13 Kansas City 1:00 win Nov. 20 @ San Diego 4:15 lose Nov. 27 Carolina 1:00 lose Dec. 4 @ Miami 1:00 win Dec. 11 New England 1:00 win Dec. 17 Denver 8:30 win Dec. 24 @ Cincinnati 1:00 lose Jan. 1 @ NY Jets 1:00 lose 10-6 is the number i'm going with, I have no idea what combination will get us there. I also have to admit that I'm betting with my heart on this stuff. When it comes to the Bills I always lean towards being optimistic. To go 10-6 and make the playoffs we'll have to a.) win at home b.) McGahee be a stud (1500 yards) c.) Defense be dominant as last year d.) Losman be mature as 2nd-year player can be
  2. Carson Palmer's stats looked like this last year: -- PASSING -- -- RUSHING -- YEAR CMP ATT YDS CMP% YPA LNG TD INT SACK RAT ATT YDS AVG LNG TD 2004 263 432 2897 60.9 6.71 76 18 18 25.0 77.3 18 47 2.6 14 1 If Losman's stats look like this should we: A.) Be surprised? B.) Be Happy? C.) Be disapointed? and will these stats get us A.) into the playoffs? B.) Enough if we get 1000yds.+ out of McGahee? C.) Not enough to get us into the playoffs? D.) Enough to forget about Bledsoe? I use Palmer as a comparison because he sat his rookie year, played in an offense with a decent but not great O-Line and has a dependable running back and wr corps. I feel like our Running back and WR corps are better than Cincinatti's, and JP is a lot faster than Palmer. Considering that, I feel like if JP can at least eclipse these numbers with better rushing stats, the Bills, barring major injuries or drop off from last year's defensive performance, should without question be a playoff team. How does everyone feel about this comparison model?
  3. I've got a three-way tie Takeo-Bruce-Tasker Three players you always see make a play in any given game Somebody should find a way to tell Steve Tasker he has more votes on this Best Bill Ever poll than anybody else.
  4. Is anyone a reggae fan? BOB FREAK ING MARLEY!!! Him and someone else nobody else has said, Fela Kuti would be my top two. After that Jimi comes in as a close second.
  5. It's not any different than your current obsession with journeyman Verba. You've heard of him, therefore he must be an improvement over who we already have on the roster. Given Cleveland's offensive line issues, if he was anywhere near the player you think he is, he'd have never hit the open market. Newsflash: he ain't. 368049[/snapback] I hate to break it to you, but even if Verba isn't great, or even good for that matter, he's probably a lot better than who we have at left tackle. I'm hoping I'm wrong but Mike Gandy got released from the Bears. In case you haven't noticed they're not exactly known for their dominant O-Lines.
  6. 1. Willis and Lee Evans are both entering their second years as playing pros. Lee Evans started to really come into his own in the second half of the season last year, so this year, he should be able to take it from the start. Willis, as we all know, is coming off a knee injury that always takes time from which to recover. Another year means he's only going to improve from last year. 2. Troy Vincent will be our full-time free safety. Last year Izell Reese and whoever else they stuck back there were a big hole in our otherwise stellar defense. Troy Vincent could team up with Milloy to contribute to what could be the league's best secondary. 3. With the exception of Pat Williams, the league's second-rated defense is returing everybody. They're only going to get better, which means unbelievable things considering what they did last year. 4. Everyone on the team is ready to win. Losing in the last game of the year they way they did against the Steelers only left a bad taste in their mouths. If this team needed another reason to come to play, they got a big one. 5. Mike Murlarkey now has a solid grip on being an NFL head coach. Last year was his rookie year, and he didn't know exactly what it would take to be successful. A year of experience will go a long way towards him leading this team to the playoffs. He knows what he has to do, and he's ready to do it.
  7. They really should sign Verba. Mike Gandy is garbage.
  8. First of all, how are you an authority on street credit? Second, Where do you get your info? Third, you're saying the rap album that revolutionized pop music in the nineties as well as invented an entire brand of hip-hop was engineered by record execs or people who pretended to be from the ghetto? If cube and dre were pretending, they sure did guess right. P.S. you know nothing about hip-hop (if you do you failed to exhibit a trace of it in that comment)
  9. First of all, let me qualify my response by the fact that I go to college with a ton of New Englanders, most of the m!@#$s, and I do have to condemn them. They know absolutely nothing about football. My roomate last year was from Providence, he was more than willing at any time to trash the bills and sing the praises of the Patriots, but he knew absolutely nothing about any other team on the league. I might add he knew close to nothing about the Pats as well. I had to give him most of his info about his own team. By no means do I mean to say the entire Pats fan base are disrespectful know-nothing trash-talkers, but a good 90% of them are. I met a kid from Boston who stuck up for the Bills occasionally, but the fact of the matter is Pats fans are like Yankee fans prior to 2004. They never get called on trash talking. They don't have to know anything or come down from their enormously cocky attitudes because the day has yet to come where they get humbeled. Until that happens we should not expect much of a change.
  10. I dont know about anyone else, but going into a season with a quarterback who has yet to start a NFL game with Mike Gandy protecting his backside raises concern in my outlook for the upcoming season. As we all know, the offensive line is what makes a good team into a contender. I believe it was Marv Levy who said, "To be successful in the NFL, you have to stop the run and run the ball consistently," so it is not just the passing game that will bring the team's playoff aspirations to a halt if the offensive line does not step up in a big way. We all know J.P. Losman is a "mobile" quarterback, but it did not take long for him to get injured last year fleeing the pocket in the open field (that was in practice!). Wait until people who really do want him to break a leg start hitting him in the open field. If he doesn't have time in the pocket because he has swiss cheese for an offensive line, he'll be using his "mobility" enough to at least make Bills fans nervous, not to mention Mike Gandy blowing a block and giving Jason Taylor, Simeon Rice, Julius Peppers, Willie Mcginest, and every other RE he's gonna face this year an open shot at his backside. Does anyone else have this concern or am I the only one?
