  1. I'm with you on that one. The blame is with the Red Sox on that one. Feel free to start stoning anyone around here in Boston who uses that phrase. Things will be so much better without them.
  2. I pray that he's being sarcastic when he said that. There's no football knowledge coming out of anyone in that thread.
  3. It sounds like the subjects in that study had some fun.
  4. I remember reading some stuff out of Detroit before the lockout ended saying that they were considering adding black to the Red Wings jerseys when the new reebok jersey is released. In reebok's minds, nothing in this league is untouchable.
  5. How could they make a commercial with Vermeil and not end it with him crying?
  6. I think more of the blame goes reebok's way. I'm sure they were the driving force in this change. Just look at the practice jerseys they introduced last year. They have the same exact stripe pattern on the sides as these new jerseys do.
  7. This actually makes perfect sense to me now. Those jerseys do look like they would go along with some of the tighter fitting crap pictures I saw in the past season. I guess Quinn was just too lazy to bother correcting things once the new style was pushed back. edit: The more I think about it, I think the blame falls on the shoulders of Reebok. The new style jersey was originally supposed to be out this season. The Sabres and Ducks both have new jerseys this year, and neither has a traditional crest like you'd find on any other jersey. Sure, you may not like some other jerseys around the league, but each one has a logo that fits what you would consider to be a crest. This can't be a coincidence. Reebok was calling the shots on these new jerseys. I fear for the future of the NHL.
  8. You'd think the sabres website would actually have a picture of both jerseys somewhere. That website is even worse than the white jerseys.
  9. I was going to say the same thing, but with the huge number of bandwagoners around here, I don't even want to call them fans. Hell, my roommate is originally from San Diego but he tries to pass himself off as a Pats fan.
  10. You're assuming he does anything with that joke of a team they have. He'll suck it up over there and then end up out of the league for another 7 years.
  11. I don't know. Think about it this way, this was the only organization willing to give him a job.
  12. That and the fact that he doesn't have to do a damn thing and he still gets the money. What motivation does he have at this point? Sure, he might want to win the cup, but at the same time, the fact that he has $67 million to fall back on has to be very comforting. As long as he doesn't do anything to void that contract, he is more than set for life
  13. He's not really a new owner anymore. He's been around for 6 years and this isn't even close to being his first mistake. First the Yashin contract and now this. Don't throw any of the blame at Snow, he's just a puppet. Wang is running the show (a second ubsurdly longterm contract during his ownership is good evidence of that).
  14. An interception that was returned for a TD (should've been anyway) and a fumble that was returned for a TD. That evens things out even more.
  15. Maybe I've gotten used to it, but I really have no problem with that logo. The hat design is another story.
  16. They won't try at all. It almost sounds like he shot those two troopers last week for fun. There's no way they let him walk out of this alive.
  17. We've heard that before though.
  18. Did anyone else think there was an unusually large number of ex-Bills in that game last night?
  19. http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/09/08/ny.manhunt.ap/index.html
  20. I know a few people that are like that. I've never understood it. Actually, now that I think about it, the liquor store down the street from me has a giant sign outside advertising their price for it. Someday I'll have to ask if they ever actually sell any of it. I'm sure some of the cheap college students have to be all over that price.
  21. There has to be a ton of state funds going into this search, so it better be a topic of conversation everywhere in NY. Also, if I remember correctly, the trooper who was killed was from the Albany area, so it would definitely be news there too.
  22. The odds of what, you catching Bucky or the police shooting you because they think you're Bucky?
  23. That's probably a good thing.
  24. I think he threw it just so he would have something to complain to the league about. From the look on his face, you could tell that he wasn't serious about it. Hell, if you really want to have your challenge noticed at that point, you hit the ref in the back of the head with the flag.
  25. Since we're not about gimmick plays anymore, I'd love to see them open up the game with a flea flicker.
