Seems, with the rules that allow for no jostling of a reciever, the safety position has changed. It's beginning to look, that it's better to have two players of the free safety mold, who can cover receivers outright, and move into coverage areas and (hopefully) pick up line gaps than to have a heavier SS with lesser agility but more run-stop power.
Any thoughts yea or nay?
well i dont know about that, but since Buffalo likes to play with the SS up near the line and the SS is also the main blitzer in our defensive sceme, so i guess for us it doesnt benefit to have 2 FS's, but i guess it depends on the sceme.

yes its true, the bills have found out how to cure their red zone woes....... by throwing the ball deep in the endzone before you get to the 20 yard line

I currently attend Temple University and although i desperately want clements out of buffalo, i dont want him here either..... please no, i think im going to have to transfer if he comes here

A few seasons ago, NE was faced with a half ending hail mary possibility. BB went to his 3rd stringer (I think it was Bishop, but I'm at work & I can't look it up) to throw the hail mary because he had the strongest arm of the QBs. I can't understand why Holcomb was in there to throw short & try laterals (which ended with a FORWARD lateral). Even if JP is benched, they needed his arm in that situation.
PS: I was stuck listening to ESPN because our local Bills network station pulled the broadcast half way through the pregame show & field pass had the Patriot announcers on both team's link.
Worst announcing job I've heard. Best examples: 1) Theisman rambling on about the play where Reed shuffled it back to Shaud & they got a yard or 2. Theisman criticized the play call saying it didn't get enough yardage. Mcguire let him ramble through the measurement-which Joe didn't even notice & then said-that was for a 1st down after Theisman ran out of air. 2) Willis gets tackled with a hit to his upper thigh & they call it a direct shot to his knee. There are a lot more, I'll hand it off to others.
probly because we threw the ball only 12 yards...

Oh, the Madden thing was just a response to the on-going detestment that is expressed toward him. I just had a chance to watch the MNF (Colts/Rams) game undistracted (a rarity in my house) and was impressed. But, I see your point...I really wasn't trying to wrinkle your feathers...just when I read your post, I thought there was some actual connection to what had happened in the NFL this week....it just seemed like old news...I do apologize though!
no hard feelings, it would be boring if everybody agreed and i didnt have the luxury of coming on to check if you repleied yet haha

Wait.... so i got pissed about these moves?...... hardly, but again.... i'll have to mark you down to an F for comebacks.... that was just horrible.... and what braught it on was probably the same thing that caused you to take time out of your day to write in your last post about how well John Madden is doing 6 weeks into the season and he was signed months ago....

wow man..... that was hilarious, especially considering that you took time out of your day to write that.... but nice try though.... you get an A for effort!

some team stats:
kickoff returns - 1st in the nfl
kickoff coverage - tied for 2nd in the nfl
defense - 10th overall; 1st against the pass, 30th against the run
points given up per game - 6th overall
takeaway/giveaway ratio - 3rd overall
offense - 29th overall; 31st for passing, 6th for rushing
points per game - 26th overall
punting - 5th overall
kicking - 4th in points, 8th in accuracy (7 teams have kickers who haven't missed at all yet)
basically, they're great on special teams, great against the pass, very strong running the ball, weak at passing, and weak at defending the run. given the team's personnel situation, it's entirely predictable.
geez thats great finding.....but i coulda told ya that

did anyone see the play where Milloy was sent on a blitz of the left edge and before he could even make it to the line of scrimmage the TE Baker released and knocked milloy on his ass, it was funny because it seemed like baker wasnt even paying attention and the contact with milloy was nothing.

I think everybody would clearly agree that travis henry is a much better player than doug jolley, not to mention the fact that jolley is a TE, and who's been a backup most of this season. Yet when it comes down to a trade, how does Oakland get a 1st rounder from the jets for a backup TE who's never done anything in this league, yet we have a RB who had 1300 and 1400 yard seasons and we get a 3rd rounder out of it?????

First, nobody can tell me that Moulds is not trying harder with holcomb in, because he clearly is, i have loved moulds his whole career with buffalo but i've been very agitated with him this year for not making an effort to catch catchable balls for JP. Moulds was obviously upset he wasnt getting the ball with a string of 8, 18, and 14 yard games in a row. He is a leader on this team.... hence me not liking his attitude, i clearly saw a couple of times in the saints game where he didnt even try to catch the ball, i think one was a slant that he just put on hand out for while jogging, and the other was an out pattern that where the ball was high but catchable and he didnt even bother to jump. You can all see the pep in his step now that holcomb is in and the fact that he is acting this way and he is a leader on a young offense makes me sick.
Second, why is everybody saying how much moulds has stepped up his game? His last two games he's had 59 yards and 63 yards receiving, oh yeah..... he's really emerged now.... so until moulds catches 10 balls for 100 yards and a 1 td i'll leave the crow uneaten thanks

Next Year with no free agents or picks possibly:
LT- Mike Gandy
LG- Duke Preston
C - Trey Teague
RG- Chris V.
RT- Mike Williams
-Other possibilities could be:
LT- Trey Teague
LG- Mike Gandy
C - Duke Preston
RG- Chris V.
RT- Mike Williams
I think we'll we ok if we can get just 1 either real good guard or tackle in free agency or the draft, then we might at least have some options, but i think we actually need some talent on the line, not just some big MoFo who is so fat he just takes up the spot of the position a.k.a Bennie Anderson

I just wanted to comment on the play of Duke Preston last game vs miami. I thought he did an excellent job for a rookie RG who played his entire college career at center. Hopefully he can be a big contributor to our upgrade on the OL. Thoughts????

in 4 games this year, how does Angelo Crowell have more tackles than spikes? thats so odd, granted spikes didnt play last week, but crowell never started and didnt get significant playing time, just weird to me
-
Well, OT Eric Winston from Miami would be available. If the right positions were available i think i would trade down because i'd really like to see a big time reciever with some size since moulds wont be here next year, and even if he is he sucks, but there are none with 1st round potential that are huge. There arent really any outstanding corners with decent size or safeties either, so i think i would go with Winston.

1. If Mcgee just threw the ball, essentially fumbling it, and we picked it up, we couldnt advance the ball anyways, as a fumble can only be advanced by the player who fumbles it, had he threw it to another player without the ball touching the ground that's a different story.
2. You can't drag a player into the endzone, i think it's called aiding the runner or something like that, someone will have to double check
-
Ok.... tell me why a team with 2 QB's obviously needs to get rid of one, would trade the young guy away for another young 1st round pick QB? what sense does that make, then they are right back to where they started.
