no offensive line talk....
Bill from NYC replied to billsredneck1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He also had the worst receiving corps in the NFL, or close to it. Woods got a little better as the season progressed, but early on he was falling down untouched. Remember that? And of course Sammy was hurt quite a bit. Bandit, these guys weren't getting open a whole lot. This makes me think they will draft a wr at #1 but my money still says they draft a safety or a corner. We are after all the Buffalo Bills. -

Because of his mobility, TT makes this OL look much better than it really is. Also, it is much easier for these players to run block than it is to pass block. On running plays, 300+ pound blockers who know the count are moving forward, not backing up. Glenn is fine at LT. Aside from Mills who is terrible the rest are adequate. Has the Bills OL been worse? Of course but it surely could use an infusion of talent. -
Bills sign 8 more players

Bradley Sylve was a backup corner for Alabama who tore his Achilles on the 2016 pro day. I can't say that I remember much about him but I hope that he plays well. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/04/07/a-year-after-devastating-workout-injury-bradley-sylve-signs-with-bills/ -
Marshall Faulk traded to Rams for 2nd & 5th.

Dave I am not splitting hairs. R.Rich doesn't agree (he picks Walter Jones) but Orlando Pace, at the top of his game, was the best blocker I ever saw. That said, Tarik Glenn and Adam Meadows were a GREAT pair of offensive tackles. Glenn wasn't as good as Pace but he was only a step below imo, and Meadow was an excellent RT. The Colts had some blockers. Jmo brother. -
No Gilmore, No Woods, No Brown, No Chance
Bill from NYC replied to bisonbrigade's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the Bills really are going to play lots of cover-2, why would you want to guarantee 40 million dollars to a corner? Seriously, wouldn't you rather spend the money somewhere else? When and if Woods is the best receiver on an NFL Team (which he was not and never will be imo), one would have to think it's a sorry state of affairs. I don't think that it will be too hard to replace him. Jmo. Do you speak often in absolutes? -
What was their objective in removing the BBMB?
Bill from NYC replied to blacklabel's topic in Off the Wall Archives
You seem to be very unhappy with Bills Fans. That's perfectly ok but imo, this is your own personal method of coping. It's a lot easier to judge fans in a negative way (and lecture them about what you think they should do) than it is to blame an organization that you care deeply about. Yes, the fans get pretty angry on this board too but fans are not to blame for the inferior product we have invested countless hours and thousands of dollars in. I hope that this post was not overly "realistic" for your tastes. And do continue let us know if you have other ideas about the way Bills Fans should behave and what is wrong with them. -
Who is still mad we tanked the Jets game?
Bill from NYC replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree Badol. I do however think that a team can flush itself even further down the sewer if it wastes 1st round picks, especially those in the top 10. The thing is, you and your 4 vcrs would have taken this team to the playoffs at least once. Our drafts have been a textbook model of what NOT to do. It's almost as if an NFL team would have to try to be as bad as us. -
H2o Mock Draft 2.0 - Major Changes Across The Board

You are right and I did, and continue to offer up an apology. As I said, I should take this stuff less seriously. -
H2o Mock Draft 2.0 - Major Changes Across The Board
Bill from NYC replied to H2o's topic in College Football
The truth is that I should laugh it off and not care. Chances are the OP is correct and we will just continue to lose. A shortcoming of mine is that I care too much about the Bills and most of all their suffering, loyal fans. -
H2o Mock Draft 2.0 - Major Changes Across The Board
Bill from NYC replied to H2o's topic in College Football
Great draft!!! Let's waste the #10 selection in a draft that looks decent on the 3rd ranked safety and 4th ranked defensive back. I mean really, who needs a quarterback? Or a receiver. We are SO deep there. And why draft blockers and/or pass rushers? Who needs them? Not the Bills! We are just deep as a well all over the field. SO deep that we can toss this pick on a safety (in the garbage). You see, if this kid is "good," we will still lose football games. History proves this. And, we will lose him after his first contract. History has proven this too. I am truly sorry to be harsh and trust me, I appreciate the effort. Are you very young? Do you not know had badly this team was ruined by drafting this type of player so high? -
most mocks have bills taking williams
Bill from NYC replied to buffuct's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I disagree. I read all over the internet that we would draft Spiller and Gilmore, and was not the least bit surprised when we did. Soon, I am pretty sure that we will draft another first round defensive back. Would this surprise you? -

Are Brandon and Whaley still here? No, that would be a job for the therapist. -
I keep hearing how deep this draft is at DB

Fantastic post!!! -
That draft sucks. It should have put more emphasis on the secondary. That is how you build a winning team!

S. Gilmore or Nate Clements in their prime?

Fair enough but I'm gonna run with Nate > Winfield > Gilmore. -
S. Gilmore or Nate Clements in their prime?
Bill from NYC replied to BrycePaup4ever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not even close imo. I would MUCH rather have Clements in his prime that Gilmore 2x. I wasn't happy when the Bills drafted Clements in round 1 (I was hoping that they went with Steve Hutchinson) but it should be noted that the Bills drafted Clements at #21, after trading back from 14 and picking up another 2nd round pick. Of course they wasted it on Travis Henry, but this is for another debate. Clements was just a better player than Gilmore in every imaginable way. What they did have in common was a fierce desire to get out of Buffalo. I remember Nate's wife even talking about it. -
Yes. I actually saw them on 2nd Ave. They were not that consistent but the album "Fire of Freedom is in my top 10 albums of any band all time. Seriously, everybody should try to get their hands on that cd. It is just that great.

I really liked Further much better. John Kadlecik (imo of course) is as close as it gets to Jerry. The John Kadlecik Band is also very good. I have seen these two bands in 6 states. Traffic was great! I have tickets to see Winwood on 4/28. I'm not sure what to expect.

That is very cool. Although there are plenty of haters, I am often surprised at the number of Crimson Tide Fans that post here. I have been to 16 Bills games and have yet to see the Tide in Tuscaloosa (although I did see them years ago at the Meadowlands). It costs WAY more than watching the Bills. The Bills are a qb, a good draft and a GM away from being a playoff team imo. I would not be surprised if TT gets us in the playoffs. If McDermott can coach and Whaley is isolated/fired, we just might creep in imo. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The above IS tough to argue with. You know what is completely crazy? The fact that SO many posters on this board knew that Marrone and his staff were amateurs, knew Rex was a fraud, knew that almost every draft was terrible, knew it was a mistake to trade up for Sammy, etc. I am NOT saying that I am one of them, I am NOT, but there are a couple of posters here that could have ran this team better than the "pros" have. It wouldn't seem possible but I really believe this. -
Born and raised in Queens. My friends and I would go to Shea and watch Jet games. I liked them because of Namath (my father was born in Alabama) and I much preferred the AFL to the NFL. When the Jets moved to New Jersey I didn't forgive them. I became a Bills Fan and never looked back. Being a Bills Fan and a Crimson Tide Fan is really strange. As an Alabama Fan, you are an immediate member of a cult that wins. It's crazy. Sometimes they will be losing and you can just feel that they will come back. Then the other team makes one mistake and it's lights out. I have been a Bills Fan for decades now. I've got to meet and know some of the best, nicest, and most knowledgeable fans in the country. Also, they are some of the funniest people on earth. Much of the humor is pain based. I have no regrets. My daughters are Bills Fans and they are fighters, and loyal people. I guess the most weird thing is that I admit to feeling just a tad guilty after the Tide rolls over someone. Bills Fans deserve a team like this. Let's just make the playoffs, OK?

Not so fast. This implies that EJ wouldn't suck if he went somewhere else. Well, for now he is a Raider and my guess is that he gets cut. EJ is simply unable to be a productive NFL qb. -

Ryan did a ton of damage no doubt. Watching a 340 (at least) pound Dareus stand still and wave his hands was almost as sickening as watching him drop into coverage. They could have given Marcel a cane and played "Singing in the Rain" in the background, this after Rex promised that the team would be a "Bully." Whaley has to stop with the radical desperation moves. I know that times are tough but trading away a #1 and a #4 to move up for a receiver is a bad move when the qb (HIS choice) is EJ Manuel. -

You make solid points and I do not dismiss them at all. And as you probably know, I want Ragland to succeed as much as any poster here does because he was on the Tide. I simply can't get over the very strong feeling that Whaley is undisciplined and in over his head. If he stays and improves I will be the first to praise him. -

Hey, what caused your site to fold? What were you, the resident douchebag? Thank you, I am feeling great and am truly blessed. You know Mike, I think that this influx of new posters will be good for TSW. Our mods and SDS have been at this a while and will be able to see who is doing what before very long.
