We got the playoffs, we got the second seed, we got the home field advantage, we got the seventh seed team, but we still keep on worry very much, too much !
I mean, not that it would be a cake walk, but damn, we play at home, we have Josh Allen and they have Mason Rudolph, they are without their best player TJ WATT, but we still here in panic mode.
I really dunno: do you think, honestly, that the Chiefs fans, 49ers fans, Ravens fans, Eagles fans, etc, would they feel so worried like us for playing the TJ WATTless Steelers at home? I don’t think so.
So tell me, where start all this worry, all this fear about the sunday game ? Is that truly justified ?
How long have you been a Bills Fan? I mean, do you really need an explanation?
Post more often. You will get along well with the fan blamers and fan haters. One is already relating to you quite well in this thread.

So far away
Doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore?
It would be so fine to see your face at my door
Doesn't help to know you're just time away
Long ago I reached for you and there you stood
Holding you again could only do me good
How I wish I could, but you're so far away -
(Beggin') I'm beggin' you
Won't you give your hand out, baby
(Begging) beggin'
Put your loving hand out, baby
I need you to understand
That I tried so hard
To be your man
The kind of man you want in the end
Only then can I begin to live again -

I'm surprised that this doesn't happen more often. This act alone used to cost offenders big time in jail.

Oh you don't like it when you get a taste of your own medicine, do you? Classic.
What about me saying that Tua NEEDS elite playmakers to be anything above replacement level.....ie "nothing"........ have to do with Josh Allen not needing more receiving help to reach his ceiling with his much higher floor. And possibly extend his career etc..
The answer is nothing........they aren't related.
There are QB's you "build" around like Mahomes and Allen.........and then there are QB's you have to "put" around a foundation of elite playmakers to elevate them above their lower floor/potential. Tua is certainly the latter.
There was a time when he offered more of an all-around game as a prospect at Alabama..........but the leg and hip injuries........followed by the concussions and need to avoid contact.......have turned him into a QB with significant limitations and durability concerns.
The above is all true.

Then he set the terms of his release. It's standard for veteran contracts to become fully guaranteed if the player is on the roster in week 1. So it doesn't materially change the dynamic of the situation. Not permitting a player to play elsewhere when there is runway left in the regular season isn't something the NFLPA is going to agree to. If only because one game auditions can result in major career and financial gains for a player. Rob Johnson cost the Bills a 1st round pick to acquire largely off of a 1 game audition in 1997 where he threw for 344 yards and 2 TD's.
LOL I watched that game in a sports bar. RJ was freaking great that day. Tell me, is my memory fading or did he even suffer some sort of injury in that game?
I readily admit that I thought RJ was extremely talented and would have a wonderful career. 🙂🙄

I'm not Saying Milroe is amazing... But be careful what you wish for
He is a much better college player than you're giving credit for
And for the record he has a higher rating and more touchdowns passing in a season then Jalen hurts ever did at Alabama with better receivers
Hurts turned into a thrower at Oklahoma... He was a physical project at Alabama that lost the job to tua
Ah but Hurts never got rattled. He also never got emotional during games. He is still like that. And I dare say that although our receivers might not be quite as good as in past seasons (ESPECIALLY the 2020 class with Smith, Waddle, and Metchie), it is hard to rate them with Milroe. And hey, they ARE pretty good.
For instance, I think that Jermaine Burton would likely be a #1 pick with ANY of our previous four QBs.
I am just hoping for an honest competition at QB next season. If Milroe is all that, he should just declare for the draft, no?

Good article, thank you.
As @Simon stated in his post, quarterback made the biggest difference, and I very much agree. I think that Hurts, Tua, Mac, or Bryce would have had better results but again, the better team won.
The good news is that many of these big time recruits have barely played. For instance, they have a lb named Quandarius Robinson who looked great in his few appearances, and might be one of the best special teams gunners I have ever seen. Another LB Jihad Campbell looked like a future star on his limited plays.
They also got two 5 stars from the portal who jumped ship from Texas A&M.
Bama should be OK for a while, especially if the QB issue gets fixed.

Dude, with all due respect, you have no QB. That kid is really awful. The fact that Saban went 12-1 with him in that conference is nothing short of astounding.
Although I will re-iterate my comment earlier in the year about the added difficulty of him repeatedly having to start his read process by looking down to pick up a bad snap multiple times a game. If your Center is not a Senior, he needs to start learning to work at Guard. Today.
I completely agree. I have been skeptical of Milroe since before the season started. There is a 5 star (Ty Simpson) sitting on the bench who I hoped would start. He admittedly came from a small HS in Tennessee which does make the already HUGE and difficult transition from high school to the University of Alabama ever more difficult. I hope that Simpson does not hit the portal. They even have another 5 star from California (Justin Sayin) who is already working out with the team. After Hurts, Tua, Mac, and Bryce, it was very tough from day one to not be skeptical of Milroe.
Simon, this was Milroe's third season at Alabama. Hurts came in and started immediately and was more advanced mentaly than Milroe is today. Tua came in polished and ready. Mac (say what you want about him) sat 2 years. In his third year he went undefeated against an all SEC schedule and won a title. (OK, he had perhaps the best offense of all time but still). Bryce won the Heissman after sitting behind Mac. Hurts was a 2nd round pick, the rest were 1st rounders.
Btw it should be noted that the 2023 Alabama defense was clearly superior to the defenses of the afforementioned teams, thus making life easier for Milroe.
If Milroe declares for the draft (which sadly he says that he will not), in what round would he be drafted in this qb driven NFL? 3rd? 4th? 5th? You tell me. Could he have some success on a team stacked with receivers like the Dolphins? Maybe, but he is not especially accurate so I'm not at all certain.
Again, I offer no excuses for this game. Michigan made a couple of serious mistakes. They overcame them and beat us (something that almost never occurs with Saban teams). My congrats go out to Michigan, their fans, and yes, Coach Harbaugh. I hope that they win the title.
-
Congrats to all Michigan fans. No excuses offered, Alabama was simply outplayed and frankly; the score didn't really reflect the game. Michigan was the clear winner. I think that Saban did well to lead the team this far given the somewhat shaky QB situation.
Once again, The Crimson Tide looks very good going ito 2024. It will be very interesting to see how the QB situation is handled.
ROLL TIDE!!!!!!

Well, I am glad that I did post a disclaimer LOL. No excuses here, Alabama was outplayed. Our QB was no match for Michigan's very stout defense.
Congrats to both the Wolverines and their fans.

First and foremost, Happy New Year to all of you to include your families and loved ones! Now, two disclaimers:
1) As most of you know I am an Alabama Fan, so my opinion on that game will be surely tainted and biased.
2) If I could accurately predict college and NFL football games I would be rich. I had a decent career, but I would have preferred to be sitting around watching football games and making millions of dollars. OK......
Alabama/Michigan:
Tbh, I am not 100% sold on Jaylen Milroe. This is unfamiliar footing after years of having Hurts, Tua, Mac, and Bryce play this position. Milroe has a very strong arm and resembles Lamar Jackson on running plays. Yeah, he really does. The kid is huge, strong as a bull, and has sprinter speed. As a passer he is too indecisive. It's his first year as a starter but his third year in Tuscaloosa. Still, he entered the season with much to learn. Some of this can be blamed on Bill O'Brien, who as the Bama OC told him to change positions. Despite all of this, the kid has really improved. If he has room to run he will score tds, of this I am sure. He obviously has very good weapons, to include WR Jermaine Burton (a player to watch for the Bills) and a relativelty unknown explosive RB Jam Miller. The OL is gigantic and very much improved since the beginning of the season. Make no mistake, the offense is strong. Are they as good as they were for the last several years? Nope.
Otoh, the defense is superb. They lost the great Will Anderson and the team is not only better defensively, they are better and deeper at LB. The DL is very stout and Justin Eboigebe is an excellent pass rusher. The LBs are 7 or 8 deep and great. The secondary is amazing. Terrion Arnold is a great corner and freshman safety Caleb Downs is nothing short of sensational. This kid can cover, play the run, and blitz. A future superstar. Another deep and talented unit. From what I have read, I don't know if Michigan has the offensive speed to challenge the Bama defense. Can they overpower Bama? Maybe, but Saban would seem to be ready for this type of old school football.
In a low scoring game, I am looking at Alabama 24 - Michigan 16
Washington/Texas:
Is this game a trap? It sure loks like one to me. Texas is a big, strong team with very good lines on both sides and perhaps the most underrated QB (Quinn Ewers) in the NCAA. I mean, he is keeping the much heralded Arch Manning on the bench this year and next. I don't see how these two teams even belong on the same field.
In a romp, I am thinking Texas 40 - Washington 13.
Again, this is JMO, NOT an all knowing proclamation.
Opinions?
