  1. Years ago @BADOLBILZ pointed out that EJ had arms as long as a 7 foot tall man, and that this slowed him down in terms of getting rid of the ball quickly. I then watched for this and lo and behold, it DID seem to take EJ forever to snap off a quick pass. Do notice that I don't claim to have spotted this on my own lol. What I DID notice was that he ran fast in college but on the Bills he looked like he was running in quicksand. I never quite understood why. There will always be players who have the talent to play in the NFL but have factors which stop them from doing so. For instance RJ (imo) had 10x the talent of EJ but even he could not put it to use in the big league.
  2. My Conclusions after week 7: 1) I think that this week left little doubt that the ACC is a complete joke other than Clemson, who no sane person could deny is a GREAT team, if not the best. 2) The SEC reminds me a lot of the Big 10 this season in terms of how they are all pretty good and beating themselves up. 3) At the end of the season, defenses will have a very strong say in who will be make the playoffs. Right now it seems to be mostly the offenses having their way. 4) At the half it did not look good for Alabama, and they would have lost the game if their defense didn't get itself together in a hurry. As good as their offense looks, they will not be enough to carry the Tide to a title, or maybe even the playoffs unless they develop more pass rush, AND get better vs. the run.
  3. What a game!!! In the 2nd half, it even seemed like the defense was coming around. If the D steps up and improves, the Crimson Tide will be able to compete with ANY team. Mac Jones had a whole lot of time to throw against a mega talented Georgia defense. and the offense took advantage of this in the air and on the ground. ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Good chance, but if a team is willing to bring him along slowly and has a few good drafts, the sky could be the limit for this kid.
  5. Agreed but EJ was not one of them.
  6. All of this is true. I was responding to the question which was how much I think of TL as a prospect. I happen to think that he is the best I have seen come out in almost 40 years. Btw I am not thrilled by this. I'm an Alabama Fan and he beat us handily. Either way, I think the kid is freaky good.
  7. I've got a chip on my shoulder that's bigger that my feet I can't talk to people that I meet If I could see you now I'd try to make you sad somehow But I can't, so I'll cry instead Don't wanna cry when there's people there I get shy when they start to stare I'm gonna hide myself away But I'll come back again someday
  8. Although I am reading numerous things about the situation, it appears at this time that Coach Saban had a false positive on his test for covid19 test and hs since tested negative. I don't know what will happen but whether or not he will be allowed to be on the field (I doubt it), he will be like a caged animal for this game. ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Yes, and I was very high on Luck. Lawrence is bigger, moves better, and has twice the arm. Is he as smart as Luck? Probably not but this kid is looking like he is all world.
  10. Thanks for this link. This man makes the point that I have been driving home for days.
  11. You make a very solid point. I totally agree but remember, there is stiff competition. In all my years watching football I don't really recall this particular scenario. Watching these teams (Jets, Falcone, Giants, etc.) happily go down the tubes at the same time is fascinating, no?
  12. You are making perfect sense and are probably correct. I do not make the Bills a favorite in the race for Williams. That said, imo the only reason we are still perhaps even in the conversation is because the Jets are clearly tanking. Another divisional loss to us would actually be good for the Jets. Sounds crazy, no? Again, I think that there are hundreds of millions of dollars at stake. If the Jets could land Lawrence, he will own the town before he takes a snap. He would revitalize a weather beaten fan base. The already high price of their franchise would go through the roof. Now, imagine if he plays well. Remember wrt Lawrence, we are looking at the top qb prospect since John Elway, who I think came into the league in 1982. I don't know for sure that he will be great, or even good. What I do believe is that almost every team in the NFL covets this kid. Also, for the record lol, I am almost always against trading away first round picks. Trading up almost always sucks imo (Whaley), and even trading down can bite a team in the ass (Mahomes). As much as i like Williams, I would not want the Bills to pay an unreasonable price. Jmo.
  13. Gotta do what you can just to keep your love alive Trying not to confuse it, with what you do to survive In sixty-nine I was twenty-one and I called the road my own I don't know when that road turned into the road I'm on Running on (running on empty) Running on (running blind) Running on (running into the sun) But I'm running behind
  14. It wouldn't be so dumb if they lost out, got the first pick, and the franchise value increased by hundreds of millions of dollars. I think that at this point, losing is clearly what the Jets are striving for this season.
  15. Not necessarily. The Jets are tanking, no? Losing Williams would HELP the Jets, not hurt them. If the Jets lose out and draft 1st, they will make untold money by drafting Lawrence. Seriously.
  16. Hard to say. I will state point blank that I am SURE that he is a very good football player. About this I have no doubt. Still in all, I think that he went a bit early in the draft and remember saying so on this board with @BADOLBILZ. Now, what would be the cost? That is clearly the deciding factor under any conditions. A late 1st? A 2nd and a 4th? I suppose it would depend on how much Beane (notice I said Beane, not McDermott) thinks that we need him. That said, would the Jets trade him in the division? Normally I would say no way, but I make the case that they are CLEARLY tanking. I said this before I heard anything about this article. I think that the possibility exists that we could get him. As I said in another post, Lawrence in NY (NJ) would be the next Joe Namath in terms of hype, etc. He would make the owner of the Jets untold millions and increase the value of the franchise by a billion or so. As always, jmo.
  17. This really sucks. Coach Saban is working from home and Coach Sarkasian is apparently in charge, I guess as much as this is possible. Nick Saban is a short tempered, brusque individual. He is also a very religious man and a huge donor to charity. As much as I want the Tide to defeat Georgia on Saturday, what is most important to me is that Coach Saban has a complete and speedy recovery. The man looks great and is said to be symptom free, but he isn't young. My prayers go out to him and his loved ones, and I suspect that he is just so tough that he will pull through this menace. Get well Coach Saban!!!!! ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. 3 years in the NFL is like 30 years in the real world.
  19. Dave, do you think that this was another "tank" move by the Jets? I for one do think so.
  20. I do. I do not want Trevor Lawrence in our division.
  21. OK. In that case he might want to stay down south. Also, NYC at this time.....let me just say that NYC has seen better days and leave it at that. Otoh, I am unable to imagine the Jets winning a game. One thing is certain.....this will be quite the interesting off season.
  22. This really sucks. I had no idea that we lost so many baseball players this year, to include 6 hall of famers. https://www.baseball-almanac.com/players/baseball_deaths.php?y=2020
  23. Maybe. But wouldn't he be passing up on 35 million dollars or somewhere close to it? I know nothing of his economic background. Also, if he signs with one of the New Jersey teams (a very strong possibility imo), I can't begin to imagine the amount of money he will make. Rogers and Manning make a few bucks in advertisements, no? Now I am talking about NY money, in addition to the women and the nightlife. We are talking about the next Joe Namath in terms of hype. I'm curious.....do you think that the NFL DESPERATELY wants Trevor to play in NJ? I do and if I was betting on games I would bet accordingly. My guess is that he goes to the Jets but as always, JMO.
