  1. I wanted a fast hatchback last year, and I looked into the Golf. Unfortunately, they are not made in Germany anymore. They are assembled at VW's plant in Brazil, and the cars made there have reliability issues. I ended up getting a used '03 Civic SI with 23K miles on it. Very nimble. Sneaky fast. It's great on gas, and since I don't "beat it up" it runs well. Great little car for road trips. I'm not too fond of the redesigned SI. I sat in one and don't like the sightlines. The new issue of Road and Track rates the best cars for less than $30,000. You might want to check that out before buying a car: link They listed these cars and reviewed them: Chevrolet Cobalt SS Supercharged | Ford Mustang GT | Honda Civic si Mazda MX-5 Miata PHRT | Mazdaspeed 3 | Mini Cooper S JCW Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution RS | Nissan 350Z | Pontiac Solstace GXP Scion tC TRD | Subaru Impreza WRX Limited | Volkswagen GTI
  2. It's not true JP said this about the pick six: "If that had been Champ Bailey, you'd expect it," he said disgusted. "But it was Dunta Robinson. That's embarrassing." Really
  3. Michigan coaching legend Bo Schembechler has died after collapsing Friday morning, Detroit-area television station WXYZ reported. He was 77. Schembechler collapsed at WXYZ's studios in Southfield as he prepared to tape the "Big Ten Ticket" show and was taken to Providence Hospital, the ABC affiliate said. He had a pacemaker implanted on October 23 after a previous episode at the studio. Schembechler won a school-record 194 games at Michigan from 1969-89. link
  4. The score I want to see: Michigan 24 Ohio State 21 in overtime I have to root for Mike Hart since he's from CNY. But I think Ohio State wins by at least 10. I can see Ted Ginn, Jr. making gamebreaking plays. http://www.bayareabuckeyes.com/downloads/Fight_the_Team.mp3
  5. Since you won't explain your initial comment, I have to ask something. Who's Jim bud8andbills? Is he the guy that drives the short bus you ride during the week? (Don't forget your helmet.)
  6. some of the patriots boards are speculating that brady may have been injured worse than belichick's silly injury reports have been letting on
  7. Also being reported on ESPNews. If Matt Cassel, their backup QB, isn't hurt, why on earth would they do this?
  8. That roughing call wouldn't be so controversial if it was called consistently on both sides. Later in the game, Teddy Bruschi got Chad Pennington with a helmet-to-helmet hit. Illegal per the rules, but not called. A non-call like that gives viewers the impression that the refs are incompetent or they give the Patriots the benefit of the doubt more often than not. A lot of football fans take pleasure when they lose because of stuff like this. Fortunately, it didn't alter the outcome of the game, which was the Patriots' second straight loss. Their offense looks out of synch.
  9. Bad day for the Krafts. Their Patriots and Revs lose. Wah wah.
  10. RIAN LINDELL HAS TO MAKE THAT FIELD GOAL. THERE"S NO EXCUSE TO MISS ONE LIKE THAT IN A DOME!
  11. I was waiting for Mangini to yell, "WHAT'S MY NAME B*TCH?!?" Belichick wouldn't even say his name in press conferences this week. How petty.
  12. If you are one of the fanatical shoppers on Black Friday, check out this web site. They post the Black Friday ads in advance from the big retailers: http://bfads.net/
  13. Miami Herald A University of Miami season of tumult turned horrific Tuesday night when Hurricanes defensive lineman Bryan Pata was shot and killed at his apartment complex in Kendall. ''He was shot in the head,'' Miami Central coach Anthony Saunders said Tuesday night. ``He is dead.'' The 6-4, 280-pound senior, who went to Miami Central High, was last seen on campus at football practice late Tuesday afternoon, just hours before the shooting. According to Miami-Dade police spokesman Roy Rutland, police officers were dispatched to the Colony Apartments, 9315 SW 77th Ave., at 7:30 p.m. where they found Pata, 22, dead of a gunshot wound near bushes in the parking lot area. His mother, Ronette Pata, jumped out of a Lexus, where family was gathering outside the police line at about 9:30 p.m., screaming, ''My baby! My baby!'' She then began to slip and collapsed into the arms of a Miami-Dade detective in front of media members and onlookers.
  14. Does anyone know what the early line is on this game? How much are the Colts favored by?
  15. Alcohol and stupidity is a bad combination. I know people who won't go to Bills games anymore because they don't want to put up with the minority of drunken idiots. One thing I had to ask after reading this article is why did this guy think it was a good idea to bring his pregnant wife to an away game if she's as fragile as the article would have you believe? I'm not condoning what happened to them, but I have been to plenty of sporting events in Boston where I have been subjected to very nasty behavior because I was rooting for the visiting team. There are a-holes at every sporting event.
  16. BTW, another report in the Boston Herald today about Belichick's involvement in a nasty divorce case: Inside Track: Other Man Bill blitzed in nasty divorce Frankly I don't care what he does in his personal life, but he's a public figure so stuff like this is going to be made into a big deal.
  17. Morten Anderson must be out of Tinactin. He just missed a 52 yarder that would have won the game for the Falcons. It was just short of the goalposts.
  18. KC just beat San Diego with a 53 yard field goal! What's up with the kickers today!?!
  19. Huge win for Tampa. Gradowski isn't going to give up the starting qb job easily when Simms comes back.
  20. I don't believe he'll get benched. The excuse Losman had last year is that he got benched before he got valuable experience. If they leave him in and the Bills stink the rest of the year, there will be no excuses left, and he will be replaced.
  21. The Bills continue to kill themselves with turnovers and dumb penalties.
  22. I think that poster meant giddy up. Maybe.
  23. Let me tell you what, buddy. I have been a Sabres fan since 1970, and we don't need fair weather fans like you on the bandwagon. You sound like one of those NYers who digs his Mets hat out of the closet the minute the Yankees are eliminated.
  24. When I heard the Bills made a trade, I was hoping it was for help on the O-line. Damn. Losman is going to have Richard Seymour in his face all afternoon Sunday.
