Got it. Don’t think Sanders was a fit here, even in late rounds based on he is a project and the baggage he brings. Either real baggage..or perceived. Now, do you draft a guy late, late as a camp arm/practice squad? Maybe. Just don’t believe there is room for all our projected draft picks also. Late picks will be guys to replace those on practice squad now.

Better pass rush equals better play by the DB’s. They are comfortable without drafting safeties at this time. Late round depth pick? Maybe. edit: man, I gotta proofread better!

No way they draft a guy high enough to be good enough. Or high enough to be a distraction if Josh has a few bad games. I certainly hope so! We have a new coach who is a man coverage guy. Hopefully the team in general makes the move and this is one of the steps. I feel Elam was never a fit, regardless of the defensive philosophy. Just never seemed to learn from his mistakes. NFL is not a place to repeat your mistakes.

Defensive line is heavy rotation with us, so starters aren’t as important as offensive guys. Just happy we got some guys who seem to fill for needs for us. Love the Landon Jackson pick. Hairston should be a starter sooner then later.

Does a rookie step on and lead the team? Probably not. Especially where we draft. Do they need a guy who can? Yes. Trubs Anne the guy, White has played in this league and feel better with him. Not sure we can get a vet to come here and be backup like Reich used to do. 2nd string vets want to go somewhere where they feel the first stringers staring job is tenuous. Or, hopefully not, 1st stinger is injury prone.
