  1. 12 Team League... a few wierd things happened along the way and i think it gave me a very competitive team. However, i find myself in trouble week 8, as Indy, Sea, and NYJ all are on byes. Here is my squad, with a backup QB and backup TE still to be drafted STARTERS Trent Green Shaun Alexander Curtis Martin Marvin Harrisson Anquan Boldin Dallas Clark Jason Elam Cincinnati Defense BENCH Kevan Barlow Larry Fitzgerald Deion Branch Undisclosed TE Undisclosed QB I can start from 1-3 RB's or WR's for a total of 4. I think my draft was a success, especially if Martin performs as he did last year. Thoughts?
  2. I really like Tony Driver... was always great with fans and really appreciative that he was in the NFL.
  3. Is there a chance that another hurricane, or even a bad tropical storm can hit the area again this year? When does hurricane season end, and are the most aggressive storms over with by now? It seems as bad as the devastation is, the pictures i have seen have shown that the weather is clear. I can only imagine what it would have been like with even the slightest bit of rain over the past few days.
  4. Clarence Coleman was another one... i would be curious to see how many players are still on the roster from the 2000 team, TD's first team that he put on the field.
  5. I for one am curious about Anthony Gray and Corey Moore. Moore looked like a player at the LB position... and Gray fell off the face of the earth after a stellar pre-season that i am sure everyone remembers.
  6. I like Leonhard too... but what has he done this pre-season to show that he is better than Baker, not to mention that Baker has a year's experience in the NFL with 4 or 5 starts?
  7. Does anyone know Joey's last name... Cnn.com has a list of people that reported in, and without knowing he and his family's last name it is hard to attempt to find them http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2005/hurricanes/list/index.html
  8. If you want to see how incredible an actor Will Smith is, go see Six Degrees of Seperation, his first movie. He plays a gay con-artist, would be hard to imagine his fans flocking to that if he were to do that movie today. Great flick though.
  9. Stay safe and my prayers going out to you and the rest of your marine brethren
  10. There are a lot of good arguments against rebuilding it... and those are the logical arguments... nobody said american's are logical though did we?
  11. Ummm, i was thinking about this same thing earlier... i say you give us Trent Dilfer and we are almost a certain playoff team... sorry, but i think we have the makings of the Ravens from a few years back and i think Holcomb could be Dilfer-esque if anything were to happen to JP, or even if he started at the beginning of the year. That being said, i want JP to start and i am excited to see what happens with him.
  12. I don't think this move will do anything but help us, unless of course there is an I...... (won't tempt fate and use that word) to any starter after the first series. The only reason teams don't play starters any longer than they have to in week 4 is for fear of that I-word. But to all of you who come here Saturday morning and flame MM's move because a player gets injured on the first play of the game, i will tell you right where i think you can and should go.
  13. That is what the Jills need to wear... and they need to have their own private showings before and after game for season ticket holders... maybe like a petting zoo of some kind...
  14. If you want a scary thought, see http://www.superbowl.com/history/boxscores/game/sbxxv If the 2 pt. conversion was allowed, we would have gone for two when thurman scored and if we made it we are looking at Norwood's field goal being for a Win or OT, instead of a loss.
  15. Of course this board wasn't up and running a decade or so ago when this rule change had been put into place... How do you all feel about it, are most people in favor of it, or does it maybe hurt teams by decreasing the value of an 8 point lead? Growing up with this rule in place for so long, it is really hard to remember back in the day when you would only be counting scores by 3's and 7's What are your thoughts, the NFL hit a home-run with this rule change?
  16. I am also headed down to that game to visit some friends from Buffalo that are now living down there. The tickets were INCREDIBLY expensive for not so good seats. It will probably not be easy to find seats less than $150 unless you go and try and scalp them from someone two minutes before kick-off. Good luck!
  17. In his defense he has had a 10 year nfl career and also was the mvp of a superbowl if i can remember correctly... or did they give that to Favre?
  18. Just saw this and thought i would share... Pretty cool site... Strange to see this one of this never was... Link
  19. I think that looks pretty solid with two exceptions... One is that they will have at LEAST Three QB's between the active roster and the practice squad. So i see Matthews taking J. Smith's spot (i personally need to start the, I hate "Not so" Fast Freddy Fan club). And i won't be surprised if Crowell gets cut or maybe even traded which will open up a spot for Burns (i did hear something on the pre-game show the other day that they may have played him more to try and audition him for other teams). I also wonder if Preston can handle the long snapping duties, who stays as Dorenbos' position is no longer needed. If anything that may be a battle to watch next season as Preston didn't do as well as he needed to against the bears in long-snapping to warrant him being the guy this year.
  20. I guess it means the Bills wanted to give them an extra trip for free for their services this off-season.
  21. For some reason when i think of JP's first season in a negative light i think of Joey Harrington. I know Joey was a much higher draft choice and pretty much started as a rookie, but the big reason i bring this up is for anybody that followed the first year or so of Joey in Detroit. What were the things he said, what was his commitment level, his post game comments after a bad pre-season game. I wonder if there is an inkling of comparison between JP and JH. In my worst dreams i see JP being no worse than a Harrington type player, at the bottom of the 32 teams Starting QBs but i do not see him as an Akili Smith or Cade McNown. I just have this feeling that the things JP has said all off-season up until last friday night are wholly original and not like anything else any other young QB has said in recent times. Can anyone confirm or deny this?
  22. I bet he would have a heck of a leg if gravity reversed itself. If they start playing football on the moon... Lindell is the guy to have, maybe!
  23. He said he was far too hesitant. He can make the throws, he HAS made the throws in practice, just kept patting the ball tonight. He said on one play in particular he had both Evans and Moulds open and he was trying to decide who to throw to, and he said he should have just let the ball go as soon as he saw one of them open. He said something along the lines of "I should be thinking, Throw the ball! Throw the ball!" Also said the pass to George Wilson didn't go well because he was trying not to miss the throw instead of having enough confidence in himself and his abilities to make the throw. Also said that HE needs to be better NOW, because the team is too good for him to play as poorly as he did tonight. Also said the O-line gave him ample time to throw... just didn't make those throws that he needed to. He sounded pissed, as did MM. For those who only listened to the game, or watched in via the chatroom MM talked about the bad snap to JP and said that it just slipped through his fingers and that he needs to learn that it is better to throw it out of bounds and take the penalty than to take the sack.
