Did you read the other guys post And then mine? I would never trade Milano for a 4th or 5th nor did I ever suggest such a thing.

I was simply refuting the guy’s claim that LBs without double digit sacks don’t have value. I’m quite literally saying they do have value and mentioned Milano as one that has a ton.  I’m very confused by your comment here.

A 4th or 5th rounder is a ton of value?  Roquan is as get as it gets at the position and went for a 2nd rounder at age 25.  McCaffrey went for a 2nd rounder too.  Non-rush LB’s are in same boat as RB’s

  2. Doubt he’s worth more than a 4th/5th rounder at this point.  LB’s who don’t have double digit sack numbers aren’t valued very highly in today’s NFL.  I’ll be glad to have him back, but likely his best days are behind him.

  3. I like Coleman, but I don’t think he’s a great fit with Josh.  Josh with his rocket arm is better suited with the separators.  Coleman looks more suited to excel with a Burrow type precision passer.  Nabers, Thomas, Worthy, Franklin seem more like Josh type WR’s.

They need them as much to be a “threat” to open up those guys. The Bills have a bottom 3 WR room in the league right now (with the Giants and Chargers). I’d have the Bills at 31. That’s awful. That holds especially true when your best player is your QB. Help him.

In terms of targets, I think that there are 200(ish) targets currently available. These 2 guys (one could come in FA or trade) but the Bills will be adding 2 guys that will receive 80+ targets.

Here is what I had for targets prior to the Diggs trade:

    To recap (620 targets):

    diggs - 130

    wr2 (1st or 2nd round) - 110

    kincaid - 110

    Shakir - 80

    Samuel - 55 (another 55 carries)

    Cook - 50

    Knox - 40

    Hollins - 30

    everyone else - 15

Let’s say that Knox picks up 20 and the rest of the group picks up an additional 50. That is really aggressive. That still leaves 170 targets needed out of this class (and FA). They are in a bad spot. They need 2 that can play tomorrow.

When it’s put into numbers like that, makes me think we sign a vet like Tyler Boyd.  Can’t count on 2 rookie WR’s getting that many targets.

No way I’m trading pick 28, pick 60 and next years 1st to move up to pick 9 for a WR.  Chiefs traded less to us to move up for a QB.

Because the eclipse was cloudy yesterday, I spent the entire time looking at WR in this draft.

I don't understand the Brian Thomas hype.  All he does is run go and hitch.  I respect Josh Norris a lot, and he is also low on Brian Thomas.  The tape just isnt there with Thomas.  It's the same thing over and over again.  Go routes.

On the other hand, Xavier Worthy is going to be a problem in this league.  The guy played outside way more than I thought.  The amount of coverage he took away for teammates was insane.  AD Mitchell wouldn't even be a Day 1 or 2 pick if it wasn't for Worthy.  The guy also has multiple years of production and he ran really nice routes.

Worthy is my 4th rated WR.  Legette is my 5th.

I agree with this.  I think Worthy is actually getting dinged for losing some weight and running the fastest 40.  Worthy plays tougher on film than you’d think and he was productive as an 18 year old Freshman.  He’s still only 20 years old.  He’s almost uncoverable and played well against the best competition.  I’d be happy with him at pick 28 but don’t think he lasts that long.  Dudes with big play ability and consistent production like that don’t last until pick 28.

  7. Franklin is intriguing.  There’s so many good WR’s in this draft that he’s probably being overlooked right now. I like him better than any of the 1st round WR’s last year.  Got some Devante Adams to his game.  Such a fluid mover.

    I still like DK Metlcaf.

    1.  He's young. We would basically acquire him at the same age as when the Bills acquired Diggs.

    2. The physical traits are still there.

    3. He has one elite season under his belt back in 2020 and you could definitely make the case that that was the last time he played with a top 10 QB.

    4. He won't be WR that commands the QB's attention all the time. He's still just a 120-140 targets per season receiver. Compare that to Diggs who basically averaged 160 targets per season in his four years with the Bills. I actually think in our offense DK could be a 100-115 targets per season WR and basically produce similar to Davis but at a higher level since we have seen that DK's ceiling is a 1300 yard 10.1 ypt season. And this would allow our offense to have a balanced passing attack. I'd love to see an offense where our top 4 targeted pass catchers are all within about 15-20 targets of each other at the end of the season.

    5. With a new coaching staff and no franchise QB on the roster i could see Seattle making him available.

Agreed.  A better more explosive version of Gabe Davis is what this offense needs.  Kincaid, Samuel and Shakir can handle the underneath and medium targets.  Draft a WR at pick 60.  Draft Dejean, Barton or D-Lineman at pick 28.

  9. My right hip hurts watching him kick.  He’s the only kicker I’ve seen swing his right leg like his hip has no hinge, instead of stepping into the kick with force.  It was probably a matter of time before he was going to have some issues.  Hopefully they are correctable.

  10. So hypothetically we’re looking at:

    1. Nabers for Pick 28, 2024 4th rounder, 2025 1st round, 2025 2nd round

    2. Odunze for pick 28, 2024 4th rounder, 2025 1st rounder

    3. Thomas Jr for pick 28, 4th rounder, 2025 2nd rounder

    4. stay put at 28 and take Mitchell, Franklin, Worthy, Leggette, or McConkey

    5. trade pick 28 and a 4th for Aiyuk

    6. trade pick 60 and 2025 2nd rounder for Metcalf

    7. trade pick 28 and next years 1st for Higgins

    8. trade back from pick 28, pick up an extra 3rd and probably pick from the same group in scenario 4 except maybe mitchell and double up on WR in 3rd or 4th round

  11. If 4 QB’s go in the top 4 picks, I could see the Giants trading down for a haul of 2025 picks.  If one of the 4 top QB’s falls to 6, Giants probably pull trigger on on a QB, but that means Harrison and Nabers are gone anyway.

I could see Beane having deal in place with Bears at 9 also if Odunze is there. Beane probably also has deal in place between pick 16 and 19 for Thomas.  If all 3 of those fall through, then we trade pick 28 for Aiyuk.  If that falls through, then it’s probably next years 1st for Metcalf.  Beane didn’t trade Diggs without at least a 5 deep contingency plan.

Not sure why it’s so hard to figure out given that it’s been proven out for years, but number 1 WRs get their numbers regardless of who the QB is. Adams and Hill went from Rodgers and Mahomes to Carr and Tua and their numbers didn’t regress whatsoever.

DK is better than Gabe, but they’re a lot closer than people here realize.

They probably do run similar routes, but I’d argue with Josh throwing him the ball that Metcalf would see a jump in production.  Metcalf is faster than Davis and bullies DB’s.  You can still throw him the ball when he’s doubled.

81 targets for 45 catches, 746 yards, 7 TDS, 56% catch rate and 9.2 yards per target

119 targets for 66 catches, 1114 yards, 8 TDS, 56% catch rate and 9.4 yards per target

     That’s Gabe and DK.

Are we seriously comparing Gabe Davis and DK Metcalf?  What would Gabe’s numbers have been with Geno Smith and Drew Lock throwing him the ball?

  14. Nabers reminds me of Tyreek Hill.  Pure explosiveness.  I like Odunze too, but Nabors and Harrison Jr. to me are worth any trade up if somebody in top 5 or 6 is willing to do a trade.

it will be 80-100 million more expensive for next 4 years of Aiyuk though

Yes, but we’re not paying any of our skill position players top end of market right now. Shakir, Kincaid and Cook are cost controlled for at least another 2 years.  Knox took a paycut.  Yes, it would be great if we could draft a stud WR who’s immediately a #1WR but the odds are well below 50% where we are drafting.  And I’m not wasting a year of prime Josh on those odds.  Give me the 80-90% sure thing in Aiyuk.

  16. Yes please.  It would be more expensive in draft capital to go up for one of the top WR’s than it would for Aiyuk.  Not interested in the Jalen Reagor/Justin Jefferson roulette game when it comes to drafting WR’s in that range.

We all understand that Diggs' 2024 cap hit is only $3M more now than it would have been with him here, right? I fear when fans read "dead cap hit" they imagine some additional cap penalty for moving him. It's basically the same as him being here, but now the Bills will save mucho cap space in 2025 and beyond.

I'm excited to see Joe Brady calling plays, and Josh Allen distributing the football, COMPLETELY FREE of selfish egos in the huddle and on the sideline. The Diggs+Allen political marriage had obviously fractured over the years. Time to let Josh lead the ticket in this election cycle. I like Kincaid as a potential WR1a, with Samuel as WR1b, and some weekly blend of a 1st rd rookie WR, Shakir, and Cook as WR3s, depending on the matchups and tendencies.

KC has won b2b championships with Kelce as WR1 and a mix of WRs and RBs filling roles behind him. I like the Bills going for something similar but with a more consistent and dangerous and multiple run game to boot. Gotta have multiple solutions to every problem NFL defensive coordinators throw out you in a given season.

Pretty sure if we traded Diggs after June 1st we could’ve split that $31m dead cap between 2024 and 2025.
