The beauty with the new satelite equipment is you can record it even while you are not listening, and play back at any time. Works just like Tivo. You can save all the shows you want and playback whenever you want. I think as the equipment becomes better and easier to transfer around, people will take notice.

Sirius was up in the $60s in 2001 or 2002 I believe.
-
I'm sure of that. As i am sure there's also stocks from those days that would have loved to be trading for cents today. However, during the .com boom, I was always skepitcal about many of those businesses and their models. Satelite radio is a business model that I personally find to be very bulletproof. It's a great idea, made better by today's tighter controls over broadcast content.

I wish I concretely knew how many subscribers Sirius or XM need to get into the black. Rumor has it for Sirius that that they need 5,000,000 which I think is clearly attainable by 2007. I've heard a lot more at times and sometimes a lot less. Either way, as you mentioned and I've said to soooo many people, satelite radio is like cable tv. It's going to be huge. They don't need 250,000,000 people to make money. They need only a very small fraction of that, and I mean very small. Plus, there's going to be a lot of cool gadgets coming out in the coming year for satelite radio, my favorite is the XM MyFi which is like an iPod, which is already out.
-
No I don't believe that, I just find it really weird when it does so much like it has recently.
-
Haha ... tell me about. I'm just to lazy to change it right now.
-
I'm no stock expert, but I understand radio and satelite radio more than the next guy. I know Sirius and XM will be VERY successful sooner than later. But why would you short sell now? At 6.00? I don't think it will get any lower than it is now. What if the stock jumps like it did before. Maybe I'm wrong, but isn't short selling a stock with huge potential a bad idea?
-
I bought a lot of shares at $3.75 and 50% more at $8.80. The last buy was stupid on my part, but oh well, still in the black. My B/E price is $5.43 and the stock is at $5.99 despite nothing but good news coming for them and XM. I work in broadcast radio, just about all radio insider mags and experts say that within the next 2-4 years, broadcast radio will lose males completely to satelite radio. The outlook is gloom for broadcast radio in regards to the male market. This week Sirius announces huge deals with Ford motors and they are outselling XM now, yet somehow the stock sucks. Weird. Anyways, I'm in it for the longhaul with this stock. I'm actually thinking of picking up more today.

This is why I'm worried about Boston Legal. Only you and myself have mentioned it so far. I hope ABC doesn't cancel the show because they probably don't get the ratings they deserve. I've converted five people to watch this show and once they've seen it, they all can't get enough. As I mentioned before, out of all the shows out there, this one is heads and shoulders above the rest.

EDIT: I meant "What Are Your Top Five" in the subtitle. 1. Boston Legal: Doesn't get the pub like the other ABC shows but it is heads and shoulders above the rest. William Shatner and James Spader are the best duo on television. The show is funny, enlightening and just really enjoyable to watch. [ABC] 2. Alias: I've watched since season one, so I'm glad they've brought the show back to its roots this season. I thought last season was getting away from what made the show successful, and that was the world of a secret gov't agency. [ABC] 3. LOST: Great show although I feel the previews make you think each episode is going to be better that it actual turns out to be. Nevertheless, the show grabs you each week. [ABC] 4. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition & How'd They Do That: Yes, its a little fruity, but it's amazing what these people can do in no time at all and it's a wonderful thing they do for this deserving families. [ABC] 5. CSI: I feel this show has lost it's luster. I used to never miss an episode, now I don't care so much if I do. Grisham is still the man though. I think the spinoffs might have turned me off from the orginal. [CBS] Honorable Mentions: 6. Law & Order: SVU [NBC] 7. Without a Trace [CBS] 8. Joey [NBC] 9. The Bachelorette [ABC] 10a. 24 [FOX] 10b. Las Vegas [NBC] In the mid 90s, I used to watch a lot of NBC. Late 90s up until a year or two ago, I was all about CBS. Today, I think ABC has the best programming ... and it's not even close.

Wegmans named best workplace in U.S.
ubhockey replied to Mike32282's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
WNY has the best super markets in America. Our family from all over the country idolizes our grocery stores. Go to other cities and you'll notice the huge difference. However, Wegmans is a step a head of Tops locally. Better prices, better employees, better overall shopping experience. My family was involved in the founding of Tops Markets, so it hurts to say it, but Wegmans deserves to be #1. -
Don't get the hopes up on kicker Mike Nugent
ubhockey replied to Gavin in Va Beach's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The day Nugent is drafted is the day that he becomes the new best kicker in the league. Hands down. The guy is the real deal. -
We're a clutch defense away from winning the SB
ubhockey replied to EZC-Boston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And people say I'm crazy. Try to look past the Steelers game which was not our best defensive performance, but they kept us in the game. We didn't have Vincent or Milloy for most of the season. Barring injuries, our defense will be even tougher next year. We've been trying to fix our offense for years and nothing. Our defense is as good as it gets in the league. The problem is on offense, and thank God MM is an offensive coach. Hopefully they can fix the problem this offseason. They need a new QB to make that next step. -
We're a QB Away From The Super Bowl
ubhockey replied to ubhockey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree, but I feel that Drew hurts us more than any other position or player. The OL is getting better, it needs more depth but it's average compared to the rest of the league. I feel with a different QB, the OL will look a lot better. -
We're a QB Away From The Super Bowl
ubhockey replied to ubhockey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One game doesn't tell the story. Get your head out of your ass, because if we all thought like you, this team would be headed for a 1-15 season next year. Bottom line is, a stud QB makes the offensive line problems go away. He'd makes the offense more efficient and minimize turnovers and mistakes. Hence, taking less pressure off of our defense. We'll make the playoffs next year with Drew, but with a real QB, we can go all the way. Post of the day, my ass. -
We're a QB Away From The Super Bowl
ubhockey replied to ubhockey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's why I said we draft Nugent from Ohio State. The kid would have been the NFL's best kicker two years ago if he came out. -
The defense will return even better and more experienced. Ditto for the special teams. The offense will have all its weapons back. Draft Nugent and your kicking problems are no more. Pick up a veteran TE. With those things to look forward to for next season, if we get a stud for QB next year, this team goes from a great team to a Super Bowl team. I can't see otherwise. Drew Bledsoe is not the answer, neither is JP for the time being. I don't know what is out there, but if we have a stud at QB next year, this team is going a long way. I say we take that risk and get Brees if he's available. Does that not make any sense since we drafted JP. You are absolutely correct, but it I rather waste one pick than let this team fall apart because we don't have a QB.
-
Dude, you are preaching to the choir. JP won't be ready next year and there are soooooooooo many "Anyone But Drew" people out there that don't want to hear that. 1. I'm not a Drew Bledsoe fan, but we will most likey make the playoffs next year with Drew. Not because of Drew, but because our team is just too damn good not too. 2. If JP is at the helm, expect nothing better than 9-7. I believe in building for the future, but not when you have to sacrafic a great chance which is precisely what Buffalo has next year. This Bills can go deep next year, but to make that next step they need a short-term replacement at QB. If they can't find out, you gotta stick with Drew.

Two minutes into the third quarter. Pittsburgh has the ball near their 20 on the side of the field I was sitting on. It's third down for the Steelers and the Out of Town Scoreboard shows St. Louis is winning. Fans get excited, I look at my girlfriend and say we need a intercept or fumble returned. My wish answered. Nate Clements picks it off and runs 30 yards right in front of me. Stadium was the craziest I have ever seen. It got louder and louder and then all of the faithful finally notice the out of town scoreboard. It was pandomonium for a good five minutes. I couldn't have been in a better place. We honestly thought the planets were finally aligning and our poor city would finally get some breaks. Those five minutes were unBILLievable. The Ralph was rocking like never before.
-
QBs are a different nature. I was jumping up and down when TD drafted Willis and I was glad he got Evans. But you guys win, JP is leading the Bills to Super Bowl in 2005-2006. Watch out!
-
Again, the only Drew I would support for the Bills next year is Brees. I'm not a Bledsoe fan, I know he's the weakest link right now. I want someone with experience in here next year, not Drew and definitely not JP.
-
Well, enlighten me. What makes you think JP is the man for next year? Cause I don't see anything other than he's not Drew.
-
You are right Losman will learn sh-- holding a clipboard, but I care more about the Bills next season than I do about Losman. I want them to make a run at the Super Bowl, and you're crazy if you think JP can lead them there. Hell, Drew would get them there sooner and that's unexceptable to me.
-
You guys are missing the point. JP is not Big Ben, Culpepper or even Leftwich. He's not ready but if you guys want to waste our team with JP at the helm next year, that's fine.
