  1. Okay..been farting around the various sites in preparation for Sunday. We do a whole tenderloin. Read one site that advocates for the sear pre-water soak, with a very quick sear post bath. The theory being while meat is colder can develop deeper crust without fear of overcooking the meat with 2 minutes a side if needed...30 seconds a side post to just reinforce. Thoughts, experiences and tenderloin recipes welcomed!
  2. Where has that been reported? Media sees none, zero, nada of actual practice...only Whaley has said he is "raw". I am not saying he is/is not raw...but even Sal has said he has no idea and he is at OBD every stinking day.
  3. dont think its hard to figure out where the "Saint Doug" story came from after these last 10 days ...and maybe it's getting a bit clearer why he opted to move on
  4. Was out at a Christmas party and came in with 9 minutes left in 3rd...pretty enjoyable and entertaining game from there! I am usually pretty smart guy. ....have no clue what the Sabres should do when they hit OT, especially with Lehner in net.
  5. Cmon fellas...we waiting for someone to come out and actually attribute the quotes? .La Canfora reports "Pegula has been told Rex has the tools and talent, just can't coach em up" you think that is coming from someone on the coaching staff? Cole reports" Rex has been handcuffed by piss poor personnel management" and you think that's coming from Whaley? Maybe I am naive...but that sure as chit to me is not hard to connect the dots. Da apple be rotting from the inside..pretty clear to me Pegula has to pick a side or clean house... these guys can't work side to side.
  6. I agree with the comments 100%...but he gunna killed for em. I do sense a larger "cuture issue" there with the Bleacher Report today blasting Whaley...leaning closer to "the whole lot gots to go!"
  7. http://www.newyorkupstate.com/buffalo-bills/index.ssf/2016/12/buffalo_bills_wr_sammy_watkins_it_takes_passing_to_win_games.html Hmm...this place is falling apart at the seams...Whaley Ripping Rex, team Rex firing back, Sammy batting on Tyrod...when we gunna hear from Team Tyrod? I think everybody watching film sees that I'm getting open," Watkins said. "It's not just that he's not getting me the ball. Most of the time I'm about to get the ball but it's a pressure situation and I be wide open. I think about flipping out and having bad body language, but you can't do that. You have to move on to the next play. "I look on film and I'll be angry or mad like, 'Was I open? or 'Do I get open?' Because you second guess yourself when you're not getting the ball, but once I look back I'll be like, man, I did a great job on that play. I did my job. That's the only thing you can do at this point."
  8. My solution is all the games would be played at 4PM local time on Christmas Day ...so the 4PM games out West become the night games. The Christmas day game becomes a 3PM Christmas Eve game. I always look at it from a fan attending the games though...they always look at the fan watching on TV..which i get.
  9. How bout the school needs to reimburse the player for lost year when a new coach comes in and decides player A doesn't fit his system and takes his grant away? What should the athlete get after the 4 years of demanding 20 hours a week from the athlete, forbidding them from working, forbidding them from making ANY money off his image but they make million ?....How bout when the school says .."sorry, you are 30 credits short and you never took a redshirt for the good of the team" , you still be paying for that 5th year cause you aint got no eligibility remaining!!! Don't even get me started on who pays for continuing medical care if needed post enrollment due to injuries suffered while playing. I don't even know what to say here. The NCAA has been so able to run roughshod of these athletes for so long, it has become ingrained that somehow the colleges and coaches are the moral arbiter...t coaches bail on teams each and evry year...cause to them"its a business and their profession" . Got news for ya, for these two guys its a business too! BTW, if I was their backup...i am thrilled! Get me on more tape, give me more opportunities!!!! We sit here a B word till the cows come home how we can not risk players in meaningless EXHIBTION games, but then say a college player not playing in an EXHIBITION game is somehow being selfish ...
  10. I cant believe there is any way TT renegotiates..and i am with you and all the other posters who say the HC just has to report to the GM. And I think Rex will stay will TT, and his run first philosophy...and the wheel goes round and round. Who the fug knows....so sick of this year after year.....
  11. Cat..the Philosophy for me is more on the overall theme...run, play defence, don't turn the ball over. I know the Broncos did it last year, but D is just SOOO HARD to maintain. I believe our record against good teams is a direct result of that philosophy...good teams score, force you to pass... As you mentioned, the run/pass ratio out of whack...but I think that is intentional. And like you said, we can chicken/egg it all day long...is it cause the QB stinks they run so much? Could be. In terms of the QB...on that we can agree! So next question..would you want Rex to stay if he insists on haveing TT back next year? In terms of the coaches..Garret and Pete Carrol were ones that were kept with less than stellar first two years...but that's about it. Way more you can point to that get fired after year 3 anyway, and just delay the inevitable
  12. Cat, think you are Rex supporter right? Let me lay out why i want him gone...you lay out why you want him retained? 1)Inherited a 8-7 team..#4 ranked D. Ranked 18th currently i believe 2)I believe he is 1-13 vs teams with a winning record with the Bills. Not saying that's exact, but going off my memory of last year opponents record. One could argue the only win was against a 3rd string QB that went on IR the next day..but i will give him the 1. 3) Six years straight at .500 or below 4) Adherence to a philosophy that i believe is outdated... 4) Continued communication errors, reports of lack of detail(again, only reports), and the "do i want this guy as face of franchise" effect. 5) I see very little evidence based on records from the last 25 years where sticking with a coach at or below 500 for "continuiy" sake ever results in the team have success down the road. Yes there is an example here and there..but they are the exception. Look for your argument why to keep him! Just remember, my Rock edutaion always better than yur Bucknell education!
  13. But see that the rub Cereal..the NCAA does not have that same commitment back to the player.
  14. See Ryan, i think that is what drives me the most crazy...so if we go 9-7, get into the playoffs, we are going to play a good team no? And most likely get destroyed. But "thats good for Buffalo". And to me..it either i want they guy as my long term coach and the team is moving in the right direction..or its not and heading backwards. staying with a bad is ALWAYS a path to failure though
  15. No contract...as a matter of fact most "grants in aid" (athletic scholarships" ) are a series of 4 one year grants..and can be taken away from the athlete at just about any time...like when a new coach comes in. But a student-athlete does not have that same right. Seems it ain't ever a problem or an "ethical" dilemma when a coach takes a new job and bails on his previous team and does not coach in a bowl game...but again if a player does he is quitting on his team. Bowls are nothing more now than glorified exhibitions so the NCAA and schools can make even more money off the backs off non-paid employees.... As you can tell i hate the hypocricy of the NCAA...so any player that is doing what is best for him and career i say A-OK!! BTW, without the corrupt agreement between the NFL and NCAA...Fournette would be playing in the NFL this year...so good for him for sitting this one out.
  16. what if they get destroyed by the Dolphins? What if they beat the Dolphins by 100? What difference does 1 game make? I just know the Bills get beat by good teams on a consistent and regular basis, as has Rex for 6 years running... You think getting into the playoffs changes that somehow?
  17. that helps..thx
  18. Peter, why do you think it would be self-defeating? We had a huge thread pretty much confirming the idea of "continuity" is a myth. Ask the Dolphins fans how much they wish they had stuck with Philbin for "continuity". You think Rex is a the absolute best the Bills can do this offseason? I dont...and just like if a great DC/OC/QB is available you take em, i will take a HC that does not have 6 .500 or below seasons in a row .
  19. This is the freaking problem with all the national pundits when they talked about the Bills record, the QBs anything...if it is mediocre at best for anyone else" for Buffalo, it's great" Hate that freaking midset!!!!!
  20. This one has treated me well for the last 6 years or so. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008M5U1C2/?tag=atkequippilot-20
  21. Sold! Be in NYC for a few days over Christmas break. Tend to stay out of mid-town this time of year, but that sounds awesome! Will google it up and make for lunch one day. Edit. See ther is one in Chelsea...that's a winner winner!
  22. He is cheap!!!! But at least he has a few hookups at the stadium and came away with some cheap/free beer! did plenty of that LOL alive and well! Those young whippersnappers forced me to go the game...i forced em to stay to in the stadium till the very last second! Me and 2000 of my my closest friend there at the end! Then i made em fire up the fire pit and grill and stay in the lot for another 90 minutes eating beans, leftover lasagna, and sausage and peppers. That will learn em!!!! Still thawing out LOL.
  23. So anybody been to Bettys over on Virginia? Drove by it yesterday..looked very cool.
  24. man, what a great decision i made driving 8 hours to come this game! 1) The streets in the city are treacherous and pure ice...almost wiped out 5 times walking from Hyatt to Starbucks two blocks away. 2) Hammers tailgate off..only good part of the day cancelled. 3) Brownies staying here as well..RGiii looked at me funny when I had my Bills hat and asked him to please beat the Bills today! 4) don't know what I ate last night, but it sure as chit aint agreeing with me ...that can lead to LONG tailgate. 5) Driving with my nephew to the game.. and his freaking car has no heat he tells me this morning!!!! Just shoot me now !!!!!!!
