  1. It was due to money. Dallas wanted to pay him less and not accept any liability.

PTR, are you for real??! Miami lost 6 games by 3 points or less AND they didn't fare any worse against the Patriots than us and that's just off the top of my head. Matter of fact we got crushed in BOTH games against the Pats.

Do you remember the 1984-85 seasons. We lost 7-8 games by less than 7 points. We were still 2-14 and stunk. It does not matter how much you lose by. They lost 15 games last year and were terrible. They have made some improvements but it was hard not to. They still have problems and will probably win 4-5 games this year. Don't get so worked up. Differences of opinions are what happens on a message board.

  2. I really hope that the Bills go out and find soemone else and let this guy sit for the next 3 years. Peters is wrong and may need to start learning the right way to bag groceries. This is not a team player no matter what people think that this is a Buisness. This aint a buisness for the good players and the ones who actually have a passion for the game. If money is thier top driver then they are just prostitutes and need to go do something else. Introspect, Peters, it's about the game, not you.

Unfortunately, LT are not easy to find. He will report late. Just hope he does not come in and gets hurt and have a bad year. I'm guessing he misses most of camp and plays in last pre-season game.

  3. The good news though if this easily and reasonably doubtful "logic" is true is that the Peters injury may be serious and not healed yet, but if the Bills KNOW there is a Peter injury issue, they are not taking action we can see like they judge it to be a big long-term problem.

They have operated with Chambers as the back-up and plug in for Peters when he can (will) not play. If in fact, you are right that the Bills Peters know he is not recovered from injury and are pretending he is fine, then this logical thread would have them moving to replace Peters if they thought this was a long-term issue or simply just uncertain. If in fact, they are hiding injury information they are taking no seeable action that indicates they judge this injury problem to be a long-term issue.

If he is still injured, he should be in camp monitored by the medical staff. There would be no reason to hold out as he would be getting paid to rehab and not getting fined.

  4. Where can I buy 2008 Bills playoff tickets? I figured I might as well buy them now before they are all gone.

No but really, when we make the playoffs, as a season holder, how does that affect me as far as being able to purchase playoff tix (assuming we'd at some point get home field advantage). Is their a pool we are entered into for a chance to purchase them?

You get to buy yours and an opportunity to buy extras. You will receive notice when the league tells teams they can print and sell playoff tickets.

  5. It was a fantastic deal for the Bills, and a great move by yes....Levy and Jauron.

To be honest, those guys did have a mess to clean up. MaGahee never should have been on this team to begin with. Henry has to be replaced no doubt; he was a ticking time bomb of substance abuse, criminal behavior and flat out stupidity. Still, TD skipped right past Steinbach to draft Willis, and had to wait well over a full season fro him to ever take the field.

I would take either Trent or Stroud for Willis, let alone both.

I am still amazed how much praise Donahoe received for drafting McGahee. It is so important now that your No.1 contribute something right away. We had so many other needs and he just ignored him. One of the many reasons TD was not re-signed.

  6. The offense has been the problem with that team and it was as inconsistent as they make 'em this past year. And let's be honest here, your ready to credit their O for the win over what their D did? I mean if Eli doesn't dig deep on one play we're all having to deal with "Perfection Park." Otherwise Gilbride's track record has been piss poor too as Eli hasn't done squat until the last few games this year.

If is a very powerful word. IF Norwood makes the kick we are SuperBowl Champions. But he did not. Manning made the play so they won.

  7. Sweet! I don't what he was waiting for, but missing those 4 practices did not help him at all and what did he gain money wise? A couple million?

Both Greer and James have impressed so far. So he's a little behind now.

It's strange but I doubt McKelvin had any say in this. The agents all know the system and I'm sure the rookies just wait until they hear it's done.

  8. because they are as ill-prepared as the Bills?

The Bills used to have Price as a backup who could actually hold his own at either OT spot.

I know its too much to ask to invest in someone like that instead of UDFAs and converted TEs

I'm sure every team in the league besides the Bills has a quality back-up LT who can step right in and the O-Line would be just fine.

  9. because they are as ill-prepared as the Bills?

The Bills used to have Price as a backup who could actually hold his own at either OT spot.

I know its too much to ask to invest in someone like that instead of UDFAs and converted TEs

    Peters is a converted TE.

  10. There is NO excuse for not having a bona fide backup LT for the 2nd most important position of the team - especuially when you are trying to develop a young QB.

    Contract situations happen.

Good mgmt expects it and plans for it

Instead the Bills stick their head in the stand - regarding the talent at OT and about letting the Peters situation fester to this point.

Every team has one , right? Did you see how well the Ravens line played when Ogden was hurt or the Rams when Pace went down? How come they had no one step right in?

  11. Yeah, just a few. LOL

As far as the complaining goes, I think the fans that want to complain have a full right to. This is a product my friend and 31 other companies manufacture them. Our product was among the worst of them last season.

In mine and many other peoples' minds, we don't understand the acceptance of such lousy football by people, presumably such as yourself. I mean where are your personal standards as a fan? If all you want is a "pro team" and don't care what it does, then why even bother posting. Otherwise those of us that expect more wonder why your and others' standards are so low.

I.e., you should be complaining with the pattern of Bills football that has emerged this decade.

7-9 and missed playoffs by 2 games. I recall many teams far below the Bills last season.

  12. That would be typical of this front office.

piss off the best player on the team at the 2nd most important position- where we haven;t a bona fide player for 15 years

and now cut him loose because the front office is on power trip

and because the front office refuses to acknowledge the importance of LT- we have absolutely no one on the roster that can take his place.

    playoffs - here we come

How are they pissing him off? By signing him to a $18M extension when he was making league minimum? I agree he is one of our most important players but your constant bashing of the front office is getting tiresome. You have absolutely no idea about any conversations the Bills have had with Peters. What if his agent is asking for $10M a year? Are you ok with that?

  13. Either way, $4 million or $8 million a year, the turd doesn't have to worry about the price of gas that he puts in his Bentley or whatever it is his garganjuan tale drives. He should put down the crying towel, get in here to camp, and play until he gets his deal like a man of his word. I get tired of hearing about these RICH dingle berries holding out and crying because they feel underpaid. Go to Jamaica and look at these people who live in cardboard shacks, in the middle of "hurricane alley" no less. Look at the people in Africa whose stomachs are swollen from malnutrition. Look at these people in any of these 3rd world countries and tell me we don't have it good. This tard is sitting on his couch because the deal HE SIGNED for $4 million a year isn't now good enough for his "services". What a "douche nozzle", as our good friend George Carlin would've said

That pretty much sums it up. Well said! ;)

  14. Contrary to the recent spin, maybe the Bills already told Peters back in January they would not extend him with 3 years left

With that clear message - what are Peters options to get his point across?

I don't think he has too many right now. Seems the Bills would extend him with 2 years left. That seems to be the way they are trying to do things. It's not like Peters is going to be poor this year at almost $4M. If he comes in and plays to Pro Bowl level, he gets a huge contract next year. I just think he is asking for a new contract too soon.

  15. They need to be careful with this in my opinion. I'd like to see the guy run a slant, crossing pattern, or square-in once in a while before they throw 7 or 8 million a year at him. I understand that Losman's problems may have played a role in Evans developing into a deep threat only, but nonetheless that's his reputation right now.

I wouldn't be crushed to give him a 3 or 4 games to show that he's not one-dimensional before they re-sign him. I'm sure he's not afraid to go over the middle on a consistent basis...but I'd like to see it happen before big money is tied up in a guy that might just be a very, very dynamic #2 receiver.

That is not his reputation. You really can't be serious. How many deep balls did he catch last year? He runs great routes and is difficult to cover. He is a No.1 receiver.

  16. I don't see any name calling in the post you cite.

    Thin skin?

I mean it was intelligently stated and if you are offended by that, then a message board environment probably isn't for you.

I did not mean to imply you were name calling. I was going to but I stopped. Message boards are fine with me and I don't have thin skin. It's people who go on rants and will not accept other's opinions that bother me.

  17. No, I'm not kidding. Cap went up 7% from '07 to this year. It went up just under 7% from '06 to '07. It went up almost 20% from '05 to '06.

    You were saying...

Since you know so much about the cap, if there is a reason why it's going up for later years in contracts down the road, it has absolutely nothing to do with the current cap. It has to do with the notion that '10 becomes an uncapped year and there's evidence that there are enough owners to keep it that way as the CBA dissolves permanently. So some clubs are signing deals apparently with this in mind and teams for which money is actually no issue.

But once again, we're in the weeds on this one. Signing Brad Butler, Spencer Johnson, Kawika Mitchell, Kyle Williams, etc. to more money than Peters is getting is just wrong!

We could lose three of those guys and not have it make the impact that will occur if Peters doesn't play.

Peters would have been making much more than he is now with a rookie contract had he come into the league as one of the top two ranked LTs. He came in as mystery meat and as a TE/OL tweener with no experience.

    HE'S AN EXCEPTION!!!

    Hello!

Is there a reason you can not make your case intelligently without trashing anyone who has a different opinion than yours? I don't like name calling on message boards, but you have issues.

  18. The salary cap from a percentage standpoint hasn't escalated anymore than it has in past years perhaps less than in most. Get the facts on that.

But in our case our team salary is escalating due to player extensions to guys like Brad Butler who hasn't proven a damn thing yet, Spencer Johnson a backup to date, Kyle Williams a very nominal starter tops, Derrick Dockery making over twice what Peters is a G, and Walker who plays RT making significantly more also.

It cracks me up, the ones of you claiming to want this team to do the best seem to be the ones that think that this situation isn't unreasonable.

You should all join the Front Office because you think identically and make excuses with the best of them.

Are you kidding? Check how much the cap went up since the new CBA was signed. Especially the 1st year.

  19. Folks, ESPN has said that a few teams including AFC teams have been in contact with the Packers about Bret Favre. Let me be the first to say that I think he would be a huge asset to our team and immediately get us over the hump into the playoffs. In fact I may run out today and get a Bills jersey and have the number 4 and Favre put on the back of it. I would be interested in what others have to say.

Actually, you would not be the 1st. There are numerous threads discussing this.

  20. I don't think it's a bluff at all. He'll sit out and play the last six like other players do.

He knows that the team will eventually fork over whatever they can if they did it for Docker, Walker, Williams and guys like Peerless Price to a lesser extent.

He also knows that this team doesn't have a chance in hell of improving offensively if he's not here.

The Bills balls are in a vice on this one and Peters' hand is on the handle.

Not necessarily. The Bills may suffer short term with out Peters, but if he sits out he will have a hard time collecting all that lost money.$15,000.00 a day adds up and he is under contract for 3 more years.
