Exactly. It's fair to point out that the Feds downplayed the risk early on. But there's also silence when you bring up the NYC government's attitude leading up to the Lunar Day parade or the Gov-Mayor squabble about St Patty's parade only one week before the event. But I know, it's only political when you try to defend Trump.

Eric Reid Demanding Investigation and Revote on CBA
GG replied to Turk71's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The discussion may have eluded you in the past, but the point is that the players were pushing their personal social causes on their employer's time and using their employer's platform to send a message. Then they got indignant when the employer asked them to stop. The players are perfectly free to pursue their causes on their own time, using their own resources. -
Florida growth rate so far is slower than you'd expect given its demographic profile.

Our Bibles can just as easily be interpreted as the Holy Book for whatever religion you subscribe to, including the Communist Manifesto for the criminally insane.

Eric Reid Demanding Investigation and Revote on CBA
GG replied to Turk71's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You had a feeling it was a sham when Reid and attorneys didn't provide the fuller context of the alleged changes. Just saying that the benefits language was different isn't enough, but surely generated the headlines. -
Keep your grubby hands off my Buddha Bar happy hour.

Eliminate the handshakes and group hugs, and you're half way there. Note the cultures that aren't huggy feely are doing better.

NJ was a close follower to NY. People started taking it more seriously after March 13.
-
NJ is not as dense as the major Canadian cities, yet growing much faster
-
That pretty much mirrors NY's timeline and if anything Canada was a bit behind. You'd figure Vancouver would have been hit hard, yet ...
-
Why is Canada only at 7,400 cases?

They also wear masks at the first sight of a cold

I'm sure you're spending as much time looking back at NYC officials comments in early February about the pandemic's threat to its residents. Who had a more direct impact on the spread?
-
The first reported case doesn't matter as much as stopping the further spread (ie Washington State) Mass had an "exponential" growth rate heading into the weekend.
-
I saw the article, and it relies on the talking points that we discussed before. As more data comes and scientists learn more about the virus, it does turn out that personal behavior plays a huge role in stemming the spread. Otherwise you wouldn't be seeing the wide variation of the spread across nations. There seems to be a very low probability of spreading the virus through the air, with person to person contact or putting your germy hands on your face being the most likely culprit. That's why countries that preach good hygiene fare a bit better and why social distancing rules should help. But getting back to the point of the most recent contention about RI being concerned about NY moving up there, while ignoring the greater risk of Mass right next door. Again, because NY is weeks ahead of Mass, the migrating NYers are less likely to carry the virus as of now. Even if they do, we're talking about dozens maybe hundreds of asymptomatic NYers, vs thousands of Mass & RI residents crossing each others' paths on a daily basis. So, please tell me about that math again. That's why I'm glad Cuomo B word slapped Raimondo for being an idiot.

The building would and should be shut down during the crisis if the congregation is stupid enough to still hold regular service. Nobody is talking about the City repossessing a building. Don't be your usual imbecile self this early in the morning. There are plenty of options for churches to hold online services, and many already started two weeks ago when the city shut down.
-
That's not what he said. He said the building would be permanently closed, meaning that police would enforce the rules. No different than idiots in Mercer county who thought it would be a great idea to have a party on Saturday night and got arrested.
-
Are you seriously suggesting that places of worship should just go on as usual, like the video of the service a few pages above?

You have to be consistent. Your position has been all over the map, always trending to the negative, despite the evidence. Social distancing on the ship only started once the disease was identified. The ship sailed on January 20, the first infected patient disembarked on Jan 25, and by Feb 4 much of the ship was infected and that's when the quarantine set in. Officials acknowledged that most infections took place before the quarantine. If you look at that petri dish, it was ideal conditions based on demographics, ultra high density of the population, constant close interactions and a central HVAC system across the ship. Yet, it wasn't a complete disaster. That bodes well for how this things will spread across the wider population in the world. That's why everyone who predicted doomsday a week ago are recalculating their models.

Sure about that math? CA prices are mid-$3, but states with low gas taxes are under $2.
-
Now Diamond Princess is a good barometer for the spread? Isn't that good news that in the most perfect petri dish for the virus, not everyone contracted the disease and died?
-
If that's the case and given the mortality rate, the world would be dead
-
Is it a coincidence that a goat liked your post?

If they're worried about transmission of the virus, they should be more worried about the state next to them, whose curve is at least two weeks behind NYS. That's where the real danger is. Chances are if New Yorkers are without symptoms now, they don't have the virus. Can't say the same about Massholes.

What kind of virus is treated by malaria meds and antibiotics? Malaria can't be transmitted from person to person. Why does it have a propensity to attach to ibuprofen?
