  1. That's not what I said. Take a moment to consider the dollars and cents cost of being forced to react to the terror threat. It's quite expensive to have to consider security in everything you do, whether you are business or government, when you didn't have to do it before. What are the costs of security at the upcoming convention? What would they have been had there not been a 9/11?
  2. I've waded through it. We just might not have the same ideas about comprehensive. I've quit counting speeches that contradict each other. Just about everyone here knows my focus, that's what I'm basing my presidential thoughts on. To me, without the right moves made towards defense, none of the rest of the stuff matters. It goes way past blowing things up. Look at the effects four guys with a boxcutter can have on the economy.
  3. All that said it IS a moronic idea. Anyone with even a cursory knowledge of physiology knows that the brain-nerve-muscle links that athletes, musicians, pilots, drivers, etc. use can only be developed and maintained by repetition. Look up and buy a book called "Mozart's Brain". Same mentality that wants an Eggo for president.
  4. Whatever the truth is, it still remains that four months in Viet Nam is not a lot of reason to vote someone President. Don't give me the "he knows how it is" stevestojan either. Ain't gonna buy it. A REAL leader would have done his tour to take care of his people. A lot of folks talking about that crap both here and elsewhere have never spent a day in uniform, let alone heard a shot fired in anger.
  5. The distress call from the second plane that said they were being hijacked gave me my first clue.
  6. If I were the only Naval Officer to ever use the 3 purple heart clause to get out of Viet Nam after only four months, knowing I never missed a day of work because of my injuries-I might be too embarrassed to bring it up at all. It's not a huge leap, in my mind, to view this as a scheme. Look at his post war activities. How DARE this POS consider himself a hero? what if he just rolled the dice on not getting blowed away just so he could liberally use the experience to further political ambition? A REAL leader would have kept his mouth shut and done everything he could to return to his men. That's what leaders do. Kiss his ass all you want, Kerry lovers. I don't want him anywhere near commander in Chief.
  7. Maybe they'll start rethinking their positions on Fundamental Islamic terrorists and how to go about dealing with them. This comes on the heels of losing 50 or so in a bombing a couple days ago.
  8. I had a 67 Camaro Supersport at one time. 327 and 2 speed powerglide. Always was a Mustang person, though. My favorite was a 70 special edition fastback. 351 Cleveland and 4 speed toploader. Thing would do about 140. Had the shaker hood scoop, rear window louvers-sharp car. Had a pretty fast 68 too. Used to race the Lancaster cops to townline with it. All in good fun.
  9. you stevestojan you...... Time for Tequila wings?
  10. There you go again. Anyone remember the Sedita days? That's back when a lot of people took VW busses and moved to Oregon. Actually, it was more Rocky days.
  11. I'd consider polishing my rap for the naked women, but yeah...it's Buffalo. I sold Kirby vacuum cleaners for about three weeks back in the early 70's, They had an optional massage attachment off a power takeoff. Cool. Best thing Kirby ever came up with in 1970. Demonstrating it door to door was an adventure.
