  1. I am proud to say that I used to ride to work with Kenny in his Pinto. No, it was not THE pinto. It was an earlier version if that is at all possible. Always caught the Lou Piccone radio broadcast. I am very proud to have been associated with the man who has to be the greatest Bills fan of all time. You rock Kenny and you are an inspiration to us all.
  2. As per the rules is this our first disqualification? (BTW The Pats* suck)
  3. On the topic of draft Thurman #15 on best draft find in the last 20 years. http://vault.sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vau...15/16/index.htm
  4. In Kelly's case I would have to go with a "dull again".
  5. I believe that my great grandmother went there a long long time ago but back then it was called Ellis Eye-land {rim shot} On the serious side besides the possible negative effects you have to also consider that if you are near sighted you will still need glasses for reading. Something to consider is what is known as monocular vision. Some people have this naturally but it can also be accomplished by having the surgery on only one eye. You would think that could be very difficult to deal with but in almost all cases it works great. The brain will put images together according to which eye is needed and you can pass a DMV vision test with only one eye at 20/40 or better. Some complain of double vision which if it persists you will then need to get the other eye done too and be relegated to reading glass when you need to do close work.
  6. This is not the first time they have done so. They did the same thing in 81 in Iraq. The nations that have nukes have shown that they have the sense that these are weapons of last resource Israel included. There are many nations in the Mideast that would view them as a first resource tool were they to have them.

  8. Correct in your edit. Open source is exactly what the name describes and I am all for it. I just loaded a copy of Gimp for my wife last week because I don't want to use a bootleg of Photoshop which could easily be obtained. (Freakin Catholic ethics are killing me here). My point is that I have worked as a coder in the past and I still respect the rights of intellectual property holders as I would expect that they respected mine. I just want to be a guy that doesn't mind seeing what he sees in the mirror when he shaves. No criticism here of you or anybody else. I really appreciate the information that I can gain from my fellow Bills compatriots. Your points are well taken and appreciated.
  9. I'm coming out of a job as an IT specialist with a large corporation which was under constant BSA purview (Client Infrastucture Manager). Managing accurate license counts was a very high priority and we actively conducted verification on a regular basis. As a result I am some what hesitant with regards to "bootleg" software acquisition. Open source is cool but I am just warming up to the notions of what is above and what is below board but I am starting to come around. I was being a little bit lazy here in my request for the link but if it is truly open source then I agree with you 100%. I have found a lot of great stuff out there over my many years.
  10. Thanks MCJ. I'm going to give it a spin. I played with Red Hat a few years ago but was not impressed but time marches on and I'm ready to try it on a test system. BTW I am not far from you in Greenville.
  11. I wouldn't waste the time and material to do that with "Wonder" bread, though. I wouldn't waste my time on "Wonder" bread period. Too many good breads out there.
  12. Free as in downloaded or free cuz' somebody else had a copy? If the former please provide a link as I would like to try it out on one of my jack computers. If the latter please continue to ignore.
  13. It is generally rude to ask people what they paid for something but this IS TSW so how much was it. Should it be a purloined copy feel free to ignore this post.
  14. You should have lived there in the early 70's. It was a post-apocalyptic movie.
  15. I took nothing but comfort from it. Although I was very young all of my memories of him were great and he was very respected and liked by all.
  16. A little addendum. On my fathers side of the family the first born son always takes his fathers full name. We have been doing this for at least seven generations at which point the trail back in Great Britain gets a little murky. As a result my name is the same as my grandfather's as is my first son's name (as well as my deceased father's) Once again I will reiterate that this is absolutely true with no exaggeration or embellishment. There was not even any alcohol involved either.
  17. My grandfather died on Christmas day when I was a child. The only possession I got from him (because I asked) was a small grandfather clock that would ring on the hour. It stayed at my moms house until about 2002 when we had to put my mom in a nursing home so the clock came back to me. Unfortunately it no longer worked. You could wind it up but it would simply start ringing continually until the spring was unwound. We just left it on the mantle because I liked the way it looked. On Christmas in 2005 around noon we were hanging out in the living room and the kids were playing around with their gifts when the clock started ringing. It rang for a good 10 minutes 40 years to the day from my grandfathers death. Nobody had touched it in years. I will swear on any stack of bibles, family member lives, or even a Bills logo that this is the absolute truth.
  18. While I am not discounting the validity of the article I feel compelled to note that the Times has become unusually liberal (ala Rolling Stone Magazine) in recent times. If the article has merit then "the truth will out" but I tend to take news from the Times with a grain of salt.
  19. Excellent points on the last two posts. I agree with the weak dollar issue. China is now competing for much of the worlds oil. Supply and demand will always do what it does regarding prices. For what it is worth gas was not rationed in the seventies as it was in the forties. In the seventies you could only buy gas on odd/even days based upon one of the digits on your license plate unless you were driving a motorcycle. God I miss my old Suzuki from back then. Head out to get the newest issue of Motorcycle Magazine, a quart of beer, and some extra hots from Meester Taco in Brockport. Good times.
  20. Two sides to that coin. If I were Evans I would have to balance signing now with later. If he signs now and gets injured he wins. If he does not and gets injured he runs the risk of never getting that big payday.
  21. Heinz? Heinz? Where have I heard that word before? Oh, thats right! Heinz Field. I will definitely tale advice from them. Bastards
  22. If it were a serious concern don't you think that the manufacturer would feel compelled to put a warning or refrigeration notice on the bottle? After this thread they probably will but is that not just another example of the gov protecting you? Start putting your canned goods in the fridge. Put that bottle of corn oil in there. For Gods sake they will probably start suggesting that we put our beer in there.
  23. Thats the spirit!!! I am thinking about doing the same. Some good points on both sides but there is enough salt in ketchup to mitigate any spoilage issues. I also agree with the poster about cold condiments on a warm burger or fries.
  24. The problem becomes more severe with lower income families. Aside from carpooling there are few options when one needs to get to work. Gas is like electricity and water. You have to have it to survive. The net result is people have less to spend on other items or as the economists like to call it "marginal propensity to spend". Fewer consumer goods being sold hurts the manufacturers of those goods, the folks who transport them and the vendors who sell them. They start laying off so you have fewer people earning money to by said goods. Somewhat of a nasty spiral ensues.
