  1. Look I don't want to start a fight, I realize that it is great fun to beat up on the media idiots out there. But to say "I don't see the difference in the two picks" is a little crazy. You have to look at where the two teams are. The NYG are a superbowl winning team from just a couple of years ago; The Bills? Well I don't need to rehash what they have done over the last decade. Don't you think that the two teams should have significantly different needs (number of holes, and where those holes are)? When you have fewer holes you are given more latitude in what you do, and when you do it. When you have a number of big holes, at important positions, and you are looking at late round picks to fill all of them; people are going to be harder on you. SSDD
  2. Probably, but Gailey would have little to do with developing Howard, or the 2nd ranked rushing attack in '09. GT ranked 25th in the nation in rushing in '07, the last year he was head coach. Does it mean anything? Not really, just making sure the right facts were out there. SSDD
  3. You do realize that Gailey hasn't been at Georgia Tech since '07, right? SSDD
  4. I'm in Chicago, and it was in the low 40s TODAY. SSDD
  5. Actually Farve and Homgren both got to Green Bay in '92, and Hasselbeck was drafted in '98 Holmgren's last draft in GB. SSDD
  6. The question is what do you consider "elite", and do you really need one? Yes Brady is the obvious choice, but Hasselbeck was another 6th rounder, and Warner, Delhomme, and Romo were undrafted. The last four have all been considered elite, or at least upper tier, at some point in their respective careers. There are alot of people that have the talent to play QB in the NFL, if they have the team and coaching around them to succeed. Very few QBs can win without those things around them, regardless of when there were drafted. 300+ lbers, who are strong as an ox, and fast enough to play? Much more rare in my opinion. SSDD
  7. The drafted rookies sign a deal saying that if anything happens in camp before they sign a deal, the team will negotiate a deal in good faith based on the same slot the year previous. Link SSDD
  8. What is important to realize, and was left out of that article, is that Peppers is not under contract and therefore is not required to be at any team activities, mandatory or otherwise. It would be stupid for him to show up, and no matter how small of the chance, and possibly get hurt. SSDD
  9. Not to my knowledge, it does sound like that may be the case from the quote. But, I do know teams can make requests and the NFL will comply if they can, so maybe the NFL decided that if no one made a request, they gave up the right to complain? SSDD
  10. The only thing actually true in that statement is "injury prone". Springs is actually 16 months younger then TO... SSDD
  11. Ummm are you talking about the D-line? Because the O-line looks like this... LT -- 2nd LG -- 1st C -- 5th RG -- Undrafted RT -- Later than 3rd depending on which scrub is playing that position SSDD
  12. Haven't done it, I wasn't thinking about the Pat's specifically, the original post just sounds like one of those "we stopped the run, except for that one 85 yard one he broke." posts. The actual number doesn't realy matter, you guys have some good young talent, the future is really going to depend on how they mature, and how they take to coaching. Honestly, I'm too lazy to do the Pat's right now, and the starting lineup doesen't matter all that much with the number of subsitutions they do. I'll run the numbers later for you. SSDD
  13. Just curious, but did you adjust all the other rosters in the league for changes that have happened for the first couple of weeks? SSDD
  14. It is a big deal if China Doll Penny Boy is hurt as well. Fiedler might not be a great starter, but he is definately a quality #2 guy who the Jets might have been able to win a couple of games with.
  15. Wow, that sucks. I was never a big Spikes fan, he always seemed to be running is mouth. But that guy is/was a player, and I can respect that. Yesterday was a big day for injuries in the AFCE SSDD
  16. I'm actually moving to Chicago come October, so while I don't have any first hand experience, I can point you to my favorite Chicago Website. If you can't find something there that suits your tastes, you aren't trying.
  17. From what I've hear Denny's Beer Barrel Pub has been doing the seven pound burger for a long time. Much longer than Hardees has been featuring it. Just recently, because of the fact a neighboring place offers a 10 pound burger, and a 115 lbs college chick ate the 7 lber, they are now offering the 15 pound version. I'm not sure which version is in the Hardees commerical, but I think it is the smaller version.
  18. Not a fan of the Take5, the prezell just throws the whole thing off.
  19. Something wasn't quite right with that scene. Between her facial expressions, and alternating locations of the kisses, it almost seemed to me that she was trying to tell Behrus something in code. Maybe my imagination was working over time that episode.
  20. I'm pretty sure that the team doesn't have to match the exact contract, just the amounts. I'm about 99% sure that the rule was put in place when Parcells went to the Jets and made just such an offer to Curtis Martin.
  21. You are 100% correct, I haven't see any of the games. It's hard enough to see Pat's games down here, never mind any other AFCE games. I can only go by what the numbers tell me. I guess I'll see on Sunday. I have no problem admitting if I'm wrong.
  22. Let me also say, that I DON'T expect this to be over by the half. The Bills are better than there record states, and the game should be close. But I still expect the home team to win the game.
  23. I know you guys are happy with MaGahee's numbers, but inorder for him to be over 200 yards he will need over 54 carries with his 3.7 average. If you look at the numbers, he is running like Antowain<SP> Smith. Smith last year had a 3.5 average, a long of 30, and 3 TD's. MaGahee has a 3.7 average, a long of 31, and 3 TD's. Now MaGahee's end of the year numbers will be better because he is getting the ball more, but I really can't see how anyone is thrilled with his peformance to date.
  24. I'll admit it, I'm not a huge baseball fan, I only casually follow the Sox, because they are my home team. Baseball actually bores me to death. With that being said, the Sox have commited 8 errors in two games, how much more focus do you think they can lose?
