Wouldn't a single one do the trick?
All have not panned out or not all have panned out?
I seem to have remembered an article where there was this conversation with either Pegs and Rex or Pegs and Whaley (I think it was Pegs and Whaley)
Something about....."we are going swing for the fences and some of them might not pan out but were gonna do it"
Something to that effect.

Im kinda torn on the Percy signing......would have liked to at least see him play through the year......but at least we are not tied down to him after this year.
Now on McCoy I think we really need to see how this plays out.....the guy is finally healthy.
Lots of football left to be played this year.
-
I think Glenn will over value himself. Those who call him better than average. Are close to being wrong. he is serviceable, and will want more than the Bills will pay. Another smart LT pick can cover his loss.
IMO
To me that is the million dollar question
Other teams might view him as a better Right Tackle or LG

Can't restructure Mario...will just push back money..if anything he gets a contract extension....
I think it is "turning money into bonus" If I understand it correctly.
They have been holding onto that poker chip for some time. Time to cash it in.
-
And yet you don't have any understanding of how the salary cap works...
You've made the statement that McCoy isn't just on the decline but his "window is already closed" and his contract is an "albatross" for the Bills. Yet there's NO way to know for certain that McCoy's window is closed (and it's outright silly to make that kind of definitive declaration especially considering you're basing it entirely on stats without looking at context or actual game film), and the Bills have over $21 million in cap space headed into next off season even WITH Shady's "albatross" of a contract -- and that doesn't include restructuring Mario, Clay and releasing Leo. Come on, man. You can't say you follow the game VERY closely and not understand that the cap is fluid and what Shady got paid was in line with his talent level.
There are a lot of people on this board with excellent football minds whose opinion I disagree with quite often, yet still respect their understanding of the game. Badol being one. But you've yet to posit one football opinion with any substance that I recall, especially about McCoy. Step your game up.
My problem with Mr. super casual fan is he is trying to guess right on the decline of Shady McCoy....let me repeat that...he is trying to GUESS right.....on the decline of a player of our Buffalo Bills.
That means he is sitting out there hoping for failure......which basically makes him troll slime.
That is putting aside the fact that there is simply not enough data to even KNOW if he is on the decline.....doesnt even have a year in the uniform.
As for others on the board.....I give Bado a lot of crap because he tends to go overboard with his opinions.....still like talking football with him because he has something to offer.....doesnt mean he is right all the time.
-
You have to remeber I am not like 99% of the people here. I am a football fan first and my favorite team is the Buffalo Bills.
I am not a casual. I follow the entire NFL VERY closely.
Does that come with a secret super casual fan decoder ring
Does that help you see things better from your lazy boy?
God you are so full of ****
-
You don't get it obviously. I'm not basing it solely off of a half of season and a hamstring injury.
So now your basing it on when a player was on another team (you know the one where he was like a top 5 back in the league) like you actually follow the what is going on in the front office....how coaches were using or not using him like you actually follow the team.
Make sure you cling to that little stat sheet for last year close to your chest......because that is all you really got.....one....down.....year
-
There was a fair bit of speculation that the Bills SHOULD have traded for Marshall by NFL observers/pundits in March, but I don't see any actual real info that it was in the works. But when there's smoke, there's usually fire, and Badol is more often right than not.
Shoe me where anyone of any substance actually talked about the damn thing ans stop taking up for Bado?
-
Yeah. Just ignore advanced stats gradings and ignore casual fan stats like YPA, YPG, RYG and that will fit your narrative.
And make sure you dont look at the overall situation to support your arguement
and no
None of those stats mean anything halfway into a seasn
-
To me the Glenn situation is really gonna really depend on Salary demands
- I was initually all in on this guy like last year that he was a priority
- THen he appeared to reach his ceiling and level off
- Cordy Glenn is a GOOD left tackle who would be a GREAT right tackle
So........would this team actually look better when a FA or Seantrel Henderson at LT and Cordy Glenn at RT?
and....can we pay him accordingly?
-
We will have to disagree that there is "not enough data to support the theory McCoy is decline".
Not really much of a disagreement
You dont have it
-
You mean one of the most informed. I don't bat 100%, but more like 90%. The thing I missed on was the Cleveland Browns but other than that I have been on point with my analysis with all things football.
It is usually the people that think they are the smartest ones int he room are just the ones that post just how much crap they can throw at the wall and see what sticks........
but lets stay on point.....your trying to talk about the demise of McCoy right? In his first year with a hamstring injury
You dont know jack crap about how this player is going to play for us based on the data you have in less then a full season.....what you are basically doing is hoping he plays like **** so you are right (which makes me want to vomit)
But......the fact is that healthy McCoy has looked pretty good the last 2 weeks.......he is a versitile weapon on both run and pass.
He wont go to the pro bowl this year for sure......but we are gonna need more then 1 season before we start calling a player that has not been injury prone in the past, is under 30, injury prone and on the decline
Not enough data to support your theory.....sorry
-
Why wouldn't we have been? He was being shopped all over the league.
No.....Bado specifically said we were in on Brandon Marshall.......
Was that posted somewhere?
Too much fricken speculation being posted as fact post posters pushing their agendas for my taste
-
My Darby prediction is working out very well, along with Watkins, McCoy, the Bills season.
It looks like I do know....
Just like most of your posts are misinformed.......this one is as well....
The Darby post was to Bado not you
As far as you go....your basically full of **** most the time.....
-
What they needed and still need is a big WR.
The Bills were in on Brandon Marshall but the Cassel trade cost them the 5th round pick they needed to make that deal work.
The McCoy and Harvin moves were hastily made decisions that have burned them and I thought they overpaid for Cassel too....people forget that Cassel couldn't even pass a physical when they dealt for him. Actually got lucky that he got healthy.
Curious on where it was posted that we were in on Brandon Marshall.......
-
This is almost exactly what I was going to say. Woods is a good WR that's worth keeping at a reasonable price, but I don't see him as a game breaking talent. And certainly not as valuable as Glenn, even if Glenn's value has dropped a bit.
We dont know what his contract demands will be......he hasnt put up number 1 WR stats
It will be interesting to see how Woods production goes now that Percy is out and Sammy back.......
-
at you and Greggy with your "speculation" excuse.
Your belief that McCoy is going to return to All-Pro status is speculation as well........it's just that his performance the past two seasons and the data regarding the decline of RB's of a certain age and mileage does not support your opinions.
Hows that Darby prediction working out for you?
Spot on!
As if you would know
-
I'm not sure. He's been pretty ineffective recently, and is a bit of a loose cannon on the field. But at the same time, it's not like we have any better options at the moment.
Sometimes I wonder if you actually watch the games......
Not only did you say ineffective
But you said ineffective RECENTLY
Or did you take powder for the last game
-
Robert Woods says thank god now I can start making plays for my next contract
-
you're
Weak sauce dude
A few things to add on McCoy:
-Had the lowest yards per touch of ANY NFL player last season with at least 250 combined carries/receptions.
-League average per carry production last year (4.2) and below average this year (3.9).
-Blamed his declining numbers last year on a sore foot and heavy legs/fatigue he attributed to Chip Kelly's demanding practice schedule.
His issues this year aren't really new at all.
Personally I think he's lost a step physically and is more susceptible to injury because of his high mileage but perhaps more importantly he has also lost a step in terms of his motivation to perform, maybe due to being guaranteed a ridiculous 2/3 of his VERY generous contract up front.
I suggested that he might find that little extra motivation in high profile games against NE and Cincy.......essentially keeping up appearances........and those just so happen to be his only "good" games of the season.
Lots of personal speculation here
He had a year that was not up to his standards......and had a hamstring injury this year.......that is pretty much it
-
Doesn't care about the Bills or doesn't care what you think? In the words of Marv Levy "once you start listening to the fans you will wind up sitting next to them."
Pretty much
-
It is completely unacceptable to go from 1st to last in sacks and QB pressures......
but
Lots of season left to be played
-
No problem, but what does Karlos being concussed have to do with the fact that he's another RB who has been very productive with this O-line and messed up WR unit?
It has to do that we dont know if we can count on him yet....he is missing games with an issue that could possibly retire him
yep, the same one who is out performing mccoy. the same one who has missed games just like mccoy, cost us a lot less and had an injury that was unforeseeable. concussions are not something you can predict or speculate upon - unlike bad knees, and joints, etc.
concussions happens which make these neat faux buzz words like cte.
Your not getting it
-
McCoy 5 games, 78 carries, 304 yards, 4.6 avg, 1 TD, 33 lng.Williams 4 games, 42 carries, 226 yards, 5.4 avg, 3 TD, 41 lng....yawn.
You mean the same Williams who has been out for concussion protocol?
Jesus
LT was 29/30 and was already declining fast. And actually bounced back in NY.
Chan,
Thanks for looking that up
So basically 2 years difference.....which in NFL RB years is a lifetime

Funny I dont remember making that prediction
