Great start B-more!
NFL and NHL have become similar in that home field advantage ain't that big a deal anymore. It used to be a huge advantage back in the 70's and 80's. Just make the playoffs and you have a shot.

The Sabres never seem to have a playoff drought that's too long. Even after some down years they always rebound. I'd compare them to the Eagles in the NFL. A couple finals appearance,,,,alway in the mix and a dangerous team to play.

Jerry Sullivan makes some logical assumptions and/or predictions, but he is a regional writer for a mid-sized market who doesn't have any particularly impressive connections to the team he is covering or the sport as a national entity. Anything he says should be taken only on the basis of his opinion as a long-time sports journalist, and not a reporter.
Although they did mention Sullivan's name on PTI the other day....which almost made him seem big time for a fleeting second.

Didn't Jim Kelly and Harbaugh get into a squabble off the field a long time ago? I seem to remember that. I wonder if Jimbo would endorse Harbaugh or if he hates him?

Seattle just could not resist drinking the Cowher kool-aid knowing he could easily be had. I love Buffalo, don't get me wrong....but if the Bills are in play for his services, any team in the NFL could be in that mix if they have an opening. Now Seattle does.

How crazy would it be if Cowher was hired by the Bills but stipulated that he wanted to be the one to announce it on tomorrow's show.
Let me say this, if it is indeed Bill Cowher, the biggest bang for the Buffalo Bills buck is to have it be tomorrow's huge breaking story that football fans would talk about all day long while they were watching football.
How crazy would it be to hire Cowher period? that would be the biggest upset in coaching (hire) history. There would be a lot of sour grapes around the league from fans wanting to know why their team did not pursue him....cuz surely he would pick ANYONE else over Buffalo for a similar offer, right??

Maybe the saddest group of F/A QB's ever. I'd keep Brohm and Fitz and make a play for Troy Smith. Definitely grab a Dan LeFevour or one of the many decent QB's in the draft too.

I thought he lived near Raleigh? Does anyone know which town he actually walks his dog in? No one in Raleigh is driving to Charlotte to catch a flight (unless they're going to Europe maybe on US Airways).

Just a classic case of one team built around a great college QB and an ok defense, the other built around a great running game and dominant defense.
Running game and D usually wins out.....especially in this case when great QB goes out early.

Well, if he does become the coach then "reporters" like John Clayton need to retire. Per John, "Bill Cowher will absolutely never be the coach of the Buffalo Bills".

And why would he want to work for Jerry Jones?
I have no idea? maybe it's just a high profile job he could explore and maybe Jones would take a backseat like Snyder is trying to do with the Shanny hire.
I can't imagine Cowher is dying to live and work in Buffalo. He will get silly money wherever he goes and Jerry will open his wallet for any player personnel.

I think it makes sense when we hear rumors about a Cowher signing not happening till next week (if ever). The Bills may have the only head coach opening right now but if Dallas loses their first playoff game, the speculation is Jerry might clean house. Maybe Cowher wants to check out what will happen this weekend before he signs on the dotted line in B-Lo.

They've always been happy with Danny Smith - who came from Buffalo with GW. It would be interesting to see another Bills ST coach replace Smith. Clearly, April is done with the Bills.

Thurman cracks me up. The guy is like a little kid with a secret and he can't keep the secret. It's like he's always bursting at the seams to spew out his inside info but knows he can't. If the Bills organization is going to trust him with inside info, he should act a little more professional imo. Anyway, i hope what he knows is more impressive than the Nix hire.

I certainly won't defend them, but just recall when Buffalo was making the playoffs every year. 1st round games did not always sell out and if they did, it was at the last minute.

i love how B-more is showing the Pats no respect. They are just being nasty and smashmouth on both sides of the ball. If you want to beat the Pats, you have to slap them down and that's what the Ravens are doing. Most teams usually just react to what the PAts are doing,,,,not today.
