Is it possible to be shocked and not surprised at the same time?

I saw a quote from him and he said the exact same thing about his own passing, no one would be surprised, but they would be shocked

  2. Most disturbing ever, Back in college, at a typical beer fueled "pay $4 get a wrist band" night, one of the guys showed up naked with a baby doll strapped to his junk ( he cut the back out) and was completely naked.  When anyone asked him what he was, he said " I'm a baby F**ker" ,

Even as jaded and messed up as I was at that age, I was stunned. He ended up becoming a high ranking US Army officer working at various high level positions within the armed forces and Pentagon as he was on a ROTC scholarship at the time.

I knew it was the father of someone here, but did not recall who. Those covers are a nice childhood memory and look great on the wall by the big screen downstairs!

I had them as a kid, Dad was also the account rep for Holling Press which printed the programs, every Thursday he would come home with a few, I would get a sneak peek at the Sunday programs and I would squirrel them away. He had the account until the mid/late 70's. I had them all neatly stacked by years in my bookcase in my room. As with all things related to childhood, after moving away to college, Mom cleaned up and threw out all of those "old magazines" . I have a few, but lost probably 16 years of them in the great cleanup of 1980.

Just mail me the Highmark ticket.  Think of it as repayment for me not selling you an elevator pass at 845 Kenmore Ave. your freshman year. 😁

I bought that pass, served me well over the 4 years of enrichment at the hands of the Christian Brothers Academy of Lunacy.

As to the original post, We will be there, staying in Canada the week before and coming to OP on Saturday

If you want someplace which everything is basically walkable you may want to consider Ellicottville .

It is not far drive from the stadium south on 219.

We have now made Ellicottville our go to location for the last few years. With the exception of the opener, we stay there almost exclusively since we have easy walking, plenty of restaurants and shops, great Bills feel and the bonus is once we hit the road to go home, we are only 6 hours from Long Island rather than 7.5

  6. I'm not a chef, but I'm always worried that pork that is not done will create mayhem. so I par-boil the rib racks and after removing them I dust them with a dry rub (cajun seasoning, chili powder, brown sugar and a bit of garlic powder) I put the dry rub on right after the ribs come out of the boiling water. The dry rub becomes a bit caramelized and then I wrap it in tin foil and put them in the freezer. When I am ready to cook them, I pull them out in the morning, let them defrost, put them on the BBQ still wrapped and cook about 30-40 minutes, maybe more if they are thick. Then unwrap them and put whatever wet sauces you want (dinosaur, or others) and cook for another 10 to crisp up the racks. (I always take a few cuts to make sure there is no pink inside before serving).
