1. WHO IS PETE KENDALL ??

60742

Castoff from Arizona, Offensive Lineman, NY Jets starting right guard. 10 year veteran. Denny Green wanted to make an example, used Kendall, TD passed since he wasn't "A good fit " or some other such rubbish. We looked and saw nothing, the Jets looked and saw a stud. Again TD's evaluations are somewhat suspect.

2. Sorry, but i used to not ever listen to Stern. Thought he just talked to hear himself.

But, for the past 4 months, I have listened, and every morning i find myself hoping no one on I95 thinks Im weird for laughing so hard on the way to work.

Oh, and picking up Sirius stock would have been a pretty good idea yesterday.

58868

Back in August I bought Sirius just because I heard you guys talking about how much you liked it. Jack has been waving the banner for a few months. The NFL package seems to have been a nice boost to the stock, and this will do even better.

3. I agree, when the Bills were routinely going to the playoffs and SBs in the late 80 and early 90s, I used to go to a bar in town with the satellites. We always ran into this poor Pats fan, who would wear his Grogan Jersey and every Sunday I was embarrassing for him, but he always put on a smile and said maybe next year. We now have a dish, and don't need to go to the bar, but I'll bet that tortured soul is enjoying these last few seasons. It kinda gives me hope too.

4. A woman and her son were taking a cab in New York City. It was raining

>and all the hookers were standing under the awnings.

>"Mommy," said the little boy, "what are all those ladies doing?"

>"They're waiting for their husbands to get off of work," she replied

>The cabbie turns around and says, "Geez lady, why don't you tell him the

>truth? They're hookers. They have sex with men for money."

>The little boy's eyes get wide and he says, "Is that true, mommy?"

>His mother, glaring at the cabbie, answers in the affirmative.

>After a few minutes, the kid asks, "Mommy, what happens to the babies

>those ladies have?"

>"They become cab drivers!" She replied.

5. so why isn't Drew throwing to Shelton as the outlet on the play?

Instead of freezing up and taking the sack.

52364

Because DB is still looking for his first 2 recievers, and in the example cited, Shelton was still trying to get to the flat and Bledsoe was down already.

6. I remember at least one attempted rollout against da raiders.  It failed miserably and DB got creamed.  Don't know where the breakdown occurred, or if maybe he wasn't supposed to roll out?

In theory though I agree with you.  At least present a moving ;)  target for the defense.

52041

That was the one where the fullback (Shelton) completely missed because he was trying to get to the flat as an outlet reciever. Even a simple chip could have taken the linebacker out of his stride.

Rolling out is employed a lot with Favre, and the Giants have started using it with Warner, allowing the offensive tackles to get a better angle on the D line. By rolling out, the D line must take a different angle as opposed to a straight rush, giving the O line a chance at catching them off balanced and in a vulnerable position. It is best employed when you have a tight end or Fullback to that side, in the case you cited, the fullback whiffed. I would like to see it, provided we have a QB who can actually use his 3-5 steps to get to the proper place and scan the field at the same time. It may or may not be the guy that is starting this week. But I say give it another shot.....

7. This place was a pretty good support mechanism for me after 9/11, I was at the game that Sunday, flew in over the towers Sunday night, and Tuesday was 9/11. The morning of the 12th I just dumped my day onto this board, my wife read it and cried. I had told this place what happened before her.

8. Now back to the subject at hand.  I posted a thread to Mead. Not you, not anyone else. In the non cyber world if I hollered at Mead on the street and said I was gonna kick him in the nuts, would anyone interupt our conversation?  Not unless he or she wanted a poke in the eye.  It's called common courtasy, something long since gone on this board (see above).  Bottom line I am through talking to you about this, it's not your thread, it isn't aimed at you. Nuff said.

Ok, so by posting a thread to Mead, you want only Mead, and no one else to read it. Couldn't it be done via the PM feature? Isn't that what it's for?

I just walked in on this, but it seems like a lot of whining for nothing. Why post on a public board if the message is intended to be private?

9. I happen to be on top in the pool--right now, but I'm slowly slipping away...  I didn't pick the exact MNF score like I did the other two weeks.  Bummer...

BTW, nice job with your picks this week, #89.  I'm impressed!

My "other" woman is trouncing me, this is disturbing!

10. Just finished closing up the hole from the old air conditioner, the spackled and 85 % done painting the den. Also tore up all the carpets, did marble tile at the entrance, and tomorrow I will tile in front of the fireplace. Then I will go out on the boat and watch the Giants on local TV since I had to disconnect the satelite due to the reconfiguration of the room.

Heading out to the Outback for dinner now

11. I think the Bills can certainly turn it around. Although, they have to start soon, 0-4 or 5 has a way of just demoralizing teams.

Get a win next week, maybe another after that and then see if you can get a little momentum. The Jets have been doing that the last two years, starting slow and then getting a few W's and they are right back there.

If Bledsoe somehow has time, and Travis and Willis can get some consistency, the team can change faces pretty quick. They just need to get some decent blocking up front to get it rolling.

12. Yikes, farther down in the column an interesting peice about Conrad Dobler....

Here's what happened to Conrad Dobler: When he played guard for the Cardinals in the '70s, Dobler was considered the dirtiest player in pro football, hence his autobiography, They Call Me Dirty. These days, the witty, tough Dobler helps care for his wife, Joy. She became a quadriplegic three years ago when she broke her neck. Dobler, who later played in New Orleans and Buffalo before retiring in 1981, owns a supplemental nursing service company in Overland Park, Kan. ...
13. I wish i could still play with He-Man or GI Joe, but come on; i know when to let go.

Interesting, this helps to make sense when reading your posts. Now I'm sure playing with dolls was fun, but at least this has passed, are you going to tell us these were not dolls but "action figures"

Just kidding, actually you are right, Jordan should enjoy his retirement, play in the golf tournaments, do the family thing, he is known as the greatest, let it rest.
